Game Chat – Geelong v Gold Coast

Where and when: Kardinia Park, 2:10pm (AEST)

Last time they met: R5 2020: Geelong 13.11 (89) DEF Gold Coast 8.4 (52) at The Cattery.

The Cats were steered to their third win of the season by midfielders Mitch Duncan (25 disposals) and Sam Menegola (23), while Joel Selwood, in his 300th game, was also excellent. The Suns’ streak of three wins was ended in their first game away from Metricon Stadium for the year. They played the majority of the game without young gun Matt Rowell, who suffered a shoulder injury early in the first quarter and sat on the bench for the rest of the game with his right arm in a sling.

Match Preview: Both teams are coming off good wins last week so confidence won’t be a problem. Will the Ratten game plan hold up against much tougher opposition though? Does he have the cattle to execute it? My money’s on the Cats but I’m looking forward to the battle.

Motts Watch:

Geelong
Duncan, Stewart, Guthrie, Hawkins

Gold Coast

Greenwood, Miller, Anderson, & Lukosius (the latter 2 I’m looking forward to seeing how they respond after copping a bit of a bake from Kingy last week)

Mottsy’s Tip: Cats by 50 (tipping record 19/27).

  1. That brown stain Lukosious named in defence where he toned up twice in first three rds. Hope he stays there…..haven’t had a chance to move him on and he stays now till his r12 bye.

    • Argh, f*ck!

      I’m so sorry, CT. That’s such b*llshit.

Was looking like a sage move, on track for 80 at HT.

      • That’s the way it goes.

Heavy tackle by Holman hit his head on ground. Very woozy. I doubt he will come back on.
He was going very well and was BOG.

    • And of course another player goes down, time to add that as another piece of bad luck.
Who will be the next premo to receive an injury?

  3. Feels like the cats have phoned this one in. I think they turned up thinking we have this won. GC have done well to hold geel to a 13 point leed. Cmon cats come out and have a crack. This really should be a big win.

  4. I think I need to make public disclaimers on which premos I choose to bring in XD XD
Because they seem to get injured the very week I trade them in.

Two rounds ago I got Bolton, last round I got Marshall and this round I got Guthrie in. I know everyone has got similar issues, but surely not many have been this jibbed with trading misfortunes haha
