Game Chat – Hawthorn v Adelaide

Written by Father Dougal on April 25 2021

Where and when: 10:30pm  at the University of Tasmania Stadium

What it means for the Hawks: A win  means 2-4 which probably just  means they are on a path to an inferior draft pick.  The Hawks don’t look like a team about to turn their season around and make finals, but if they are they had better start.

What it means for the Crows:  It means 4-2 and being in the thick of things. A loss means being 3-3 and being sort of in the middle of the middle. If they are a finals team they should be able to handle the Hawks handily.

Supercoach Watch:

Hawks: Impey, Jiath, Titich.  Koschitzke, once again the non-donut of many.  Phillips still, at least he is playing every week.

Crows: Rowe, Laird, Berry, Butts

Father Dougal’s Watch:  Tex if he plays, I mean how can he not be? If he doesn’t play, I’’d pull in Jiath, since his owners are hoping he can keep up keeper scoring and this week will be a clue.

Father Dougal’s Tip:  Crows by 5  (Current Tipping 13-2, but for God’s sake don’t put money on anything I write!)

  1. Hope Tex plays
Thought I would be clever last evening in bringing in Martin in my mids after resisting temptation to move into forward line to cover for Dunkley next week. After all Martin is a big occasion player and playing Melbourne on Anzac Eve in his 250 th and only premium Fed remaining What could go wrong ? Besides Trading in Martin I also left Powell on bench as Jordon was scoring ok before kangas / Freo game started .
Oh well – there is next week

  2. Kossie was traded out when I was facing doughnuts in my backline and he was one of them. Would have liked to keep him but didn’t really have that option…..

  4. Why didn’t I start Rowe on the bench with McCreery on the field? I even had Waterman not playing on the bench to loophole – doh!

  5. What a brilliant comment I just found that many coaches would definitely agree with.

Rowe, Rowe, Rowe your boat, gently out of my team.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Thilthorpe makes me keen

  7. Gee I wonder about the SuperCoach scoring system in 2021. Kosi with 5 goals and 2 goal assists only scores 99 pre-scaling. Not enough reward for a dominant performance.

      1. He pushed up the ground as far as half-back/wing, had 14 possessions, 9 marks (3 contested). My internal SC scoring scale thought he’d be 120 pre-scaling.

Possibly the high number of goals being scored is devaluing goals and I need to adjust my thinking.
