  1. Do you ever get post pre-season clarity when watching the real stuff? Where the haze disappears and you go, “Why did I pick this guy? Why did I listen to the pre-season reports where everyone and their dog is training down the house? What the hell was I thinking?”.

Why the hell did I start Tsatas? Why did I start a nearly 200k player on a line with the strongest rookies? Why did I start a player who clearly would be 6th or 7th banana in the mids at best? One who can’t kick to save his life and doesn’t get enough of the ball or tackle enough to compensate? “Everyone else is on board” I said. “His pre-season score and role looked great!” I said, ignoring every other time I’ve been burned by a good pre-season score and ignoring the fact that Merrett wasn’t playing mid.

    *sigh*

At least it’ll only cost a trade to move him to Lalor or any other rookie that scores well this weekend.

  2. Commentators are obviously Hawthorn stooges! A round house to the head is an attempted spoil??? Obviously it was an attack on the man! VFL is a corrupt joke!

    • Nah I couldn’t trust him after his 2nd half last week. Glad I’ve made that so far.
Can’t say the same for the Essendon rookies. At least most have them

    • I’m not pulling the trigger this early. 5 clearances and 17 disposals from 56% TOG is not bad against a team many predict as top 4.
Just needs the time on ground

        • I’ve got faith they’d invest in giving him more time. Was in almost every centre bounce when he was on field.

I’d wait and see for my other options anyway. Already started Lalor so I’m waiting to see who is next to present promise

  3. Yeah i am concerned about his TOG. He played 57 TOG and after being a key part of their midfield all pre season was clearly not in favour tonight at all was about the 6th mid.. I am more concerned about that than anything but his DE% is an issue to. I’m concerned for his JS he’s a one trick pony imo. Good inside with his hands but just slaps it on the boot with no composure once going forward.

    • Hawthorn applied immense pressure all night. Definitely was a concern seeing him butcher the ball. Many players were doing that though.
See how he goes against a lower quality opponent hoping he shines
56% of teams own him so many are in the same boat

    • IMO There will be more “rotations” and rests in a lot of teams this year.

Think about what made it hard(er) this year trying to make decisions on value players that weren’t injured.

There will be more on ballers everytime we blink.
