Game Chat – Melbourne v Geelong

Written by Father Dougal on June 28 2020

Where and when: Sunday 28th June at 3:35pm (AEST) at the MCG

Last time they met: Rd 2, 2019: Geelong 20.6 (126) def Melbourne 6.10 (46)

What it means for the Demons: A chance to go 2-1. Way better than 1-2. There is no reason the Demons can’t make a run for it this season, and being the Cats would be a great way to start.

What it means for the Cats: A chance to even things up at 2-2. More importantly, a chance to avoid being 1-3.  Starting 1-3 is bad, very bad, definitely bad, and they are very good footballers. (If they lose that was ironic.)

Supercoach Watch:

Melbourne: Max gawn for sure. Oliver’s owners are hoping he gets back into form and Viney’s owners are hoping he at least tons up, ‘cause at the moment he looks like a one week wonder.  Rivers is well owned as a cow.

Geelong: Danger will Robinson! Dangerfield I mean, and wow is he having a rough start to the season. He is at risk of getting no respect. Are their other cats people own this year? How can I even be asking that? What the heck has happened to them?

Father Dougal’s Watch: Petracca. He seems to be shaking off the Pettrappa label, and another good match will see him join even more SC squads.

Father Dougal’s Tip: Geelong by 3. They are closely matched I think, but the Demons have had a week off and may suffer from some quarantine.

    1. 134 is a great score, Gawn could go down like Fyfe and you’d lose heaps of points. He might score 150 but is taking a risk for something like 15 extra points worth it when you could lose 134 if he injures himself at the first bounce?

  1. Tom Stewart off with a shoulder injury, looking like a broken collarbone according to commentators

  2. Stewart off on 23 SC points.

    Suspected broken collarbone.

Will miss 4+ weeks you would think.

You can take him off the Howe replacement poll .

    Absolute carnage this weekend.

  3. Round 4 – Traded in Fyfe
    Round 3 – Traded in T Stewart
Round 2 – Traded in Howe

Will let all coaches know who I’m planning on trading in as replacements next round, so you can all AVOID…FFS!
