Game Chat – Port Adelaide vs Carlton

Written by Thommo on August 14 2021

Where and When: Adelaide Oval, Saturday 14th August at 4:35pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Rd 5, 2021: Port Adelaide 15.6 (96) def Carlton 9.14 (68) at MCG

Last 5 H2H: Port 5 – Carlton 0

Thommo Watch:

Port Adelaide: My eyes are firmly locked on to Travis Boak in this match – Thommo’s Tribe will need a tonne from the old fella if he’s going to see a Supercoach final!

Carlton: I started the season with Sam Walsh and I have regretted nothing, with a stellar season from the young man, however, it will be a nervous wait seeing whether he is a late withdrawal today.

Match Preview: The Blues have been their own worst enemy in 2021, losing too many winnable matches, and they are practically out of finals contention. Oddly, that means they are a greater chance of winning given they only turn up when there is nothing at stake!

Not that they will defeat Port today: The Power enjoy playing Carlton, having won their last 5 match-ups, and they have a top 4 berth to ice. Expect Port to win comfortably and then rest a few players next week, just in time for Supercoach finals.

Thommo’s Tip:  Port by 25 points. (Tipping record: 33.5/61)
