Game Chat – Port Adelaide vs Sydney

Written by Thommo on August 29 2020

Where and when: Adelaide Oval, Saturday 29 August at 1:45pm (AEST)

When they last met: Round 21: Port Adelaide 15.13 (103) def Sydney 7.14 (56) at Adelaide Oval.

What is means to Port: This is the team that lives to disappoint their fans. Every year they go through a strong patch before falling in a hole and it’s time they change their habits. They need to focus and keep racking up the wins against weaker sides like Sydney.

What is means to Sydney: This is nothing but a development year for the Swans so they have little to play for. Beware picking Swans premos for the last few matches.

Supercoach Watch: This match is mostly Lloyd-watch but some creative coaches may have Boak, Kennedy, Parker and for the thrill-seekers Tom Rockliff.

Thommo Watch: Cash is becoming scarce and I can’t quite afford Lloyd. If he could just punch out a 60 point game it would be appreciated greatly.

Thommo’s Tip: Port by 30 points.

  1. In a last minute “Hail Mary’ I traded in Rozee.

Lets hope he can find some of that early season form.

This also means I bench Wicks. So I fully expect him to go 80+

    Best of luck people.

    1. Since it best 18 scores this week, is Close’s score going to be in that best 18. If so I’d probably keep it but if not, might as well go with Wicks as it will mean nothing unless he breaks into your best 18

  2. Took a bit of a gamble going for Parker into the team. Sitting on 7 points almost at the end of the 1st half……….

  3. Also I can’t believe it took me 10 rounds to get LLoyd in. He just scores easy points for fun. Unless injured next year im splashing the cash at d1 regardless what he costs

        1. watching him this game
all his kicks go sideways to a loose player with no advantage to his team
doesn’t want to kick quickly fwd to a 1 on 1
probably doesn’t want to negatively impact his DE

    1. Your right tom…there are half a dozen players you just have to have to start and he is one. I only got him two weeks ago…can’t win your league without him.

      1. I went without him, expecting for him to go in a bit of a form slump, so a drop in price would occur. It looked promising after the first round, but that was all she wrote.
Would love to see the scoring to have backward kicks in the defensive half as ineffective, same with marks from those kicks. Would make it a lot more interesting for who are the true players to target
