nice cheap shot knee into Butters head by Shuey at the first bounce … as the commentators said “if his life depended on it he could have easily avoided making contact …” … lucky we didn’t lose Butters in the first 10 seconds!
Butters with 64% TOG and 1 disposal for 3 points. Whereas Rozee with 9 disposals and 50 points at qtr time.
Boak also not being played much on the ball which is hurting his scoring
I just saw down butters shirt and it appears he has strapping around the chest… He got a slight tap and was wincing in pain.
May explain why rozee has his ski boots on
I actually tend to agree Posty – what I’ve seen of him thus far this year, he looks half hearted at times … and when not playing (I’m guessing here) where he wants to play, almost like a petulant child … (don’t ask me why I use those words, it just strikes me that way with his lack of efforts at times)
Today though, I think the (very dodgy) knee to the head by Shuey right at the start has really put him off … no excuses at this level … but I reckon he’s not worth holding … problem is, how many of these trades can we make (if you have the likes of Whitfield and injuries to likes of English etc) …
I’m kicking myself for not playing the E on Butters … looks like I will lose out and have to sit out Martin (Bombers) or Daicos now … I considered it and thought surely he’s back … that first up contact of Shuey to his head has knocked the stuffing out of him it seems …
We were always going to lose this. Also been saying we were set for bottom four this season. Resigned to that, no problems: ageing list, been to the top of the mountain, injuries, yadda yadda.
What I won’t accept is Butters bullsh*t. How is he not getting stuck into this feast!?!
Maybe not a an excuse but I heard Butters was touch and go after having Gastro during the week. The he copped that big knock early. Hardly sighted in the Centre square as well. I still expect more if you choose to take the field !
Butters was not getting played on the ball and I assume when Gray was subbed off they would play him in his position. Amon played a lot more around the ball so he got his hands on a lot more of it
Lots of hit-outs to advantage (his ruck work is very impressive – albeit against pretty poor opposition today), and a few more possessions this week – although he doesn’t really “hunt the ball / actively seek possessions” as he needs to build an AFL ready tank.
As the sole ruck with some back up from guys like Finlayson, I don’t think he will score 100’s too often – but to me he looks good for 60’s to 90’s each week?
Be great to get some thoughts on him from others 🙂
I think if you missed Preuss, it’s a good idea to bring him in. I can’t see a way to get him into my side, as I’m running ROB and Witts, with Preuss on the bench for back-up / cash gen.
Looks like teams as listed
Subs are:
Port – Lachie Jones
Eagles – Langdon
and everyone favourite sub gets a run! Luke Strnadica starting from the bench!
Miles Bergman (illness) has been replaced by Karl Amon
Think this will be fascinating contest. I had no confidence in tipping port today and wouldn’t surprise me if eagles get up.
Just butters in this one for me but hoping wines can bounce back and I can pick him up as a fallen premo next week.

Are you sure we haven’t???
Witherden on track for 64 disposals.

Att All, Worry beads alert!!!
Long could be big chance of being sub this week for Hawthorn IMO…….
Yeo out for the game, Langdon comes on for him.
He had a head clash, so unclear if it is due to concussion or if other reason
He has Pulled a heart muscle…..
Witherden getting pounded again might be worth looking at the eagles backline it’s getting in there a friggen lot
Butter up and down gotta be a trade?
He had 34 points that 2nd term after 64% TOG first quarter and a couple of knocks

Lazy prick.
Hey Gunboat..

Robbie Gray subbed out so Lachie Jones comes on. He has ice on his right knee
Butters is playing more and more like Matty Rowell.
Too worried about picking up a man rather than just ‘see ball- get ball’.
Nar butters had gastro during weeks so probably still crook
Actually I do remember reading that – probably why he now seems to be playing full forward.
Hope Grundy bounces back and scores 100+ cause of Hayes score right now

It at least helped that he was effective in his ball use to make it a lot better than a 34 he got in AF scores
What did everyone think of Sam Hayes’s game?
