    • i think his JS is ok, there could be some management of his TOG. As a Tigers defender he should see plenty of the ball, and should be ok scorer.

    • Unlimited trades for the remainder of the week, however players will be locked in/out of your team and in position once their teams game gas started.

    • i can’t un-see Coleman’s price of $233k. he is basically an expensive rookie price. at that price it doesn’t matter if he plays 50/50 defence and forward, as long as his TOG isn’t managed to much, he had 74% TOG r0 and started the game at half-back. He is back in my team.

    • Same thoughts but after some consideration it’s Coleman for me . Price plus think he’ll gradually get better with more games under his belt and playing in a top side. Windsor looked great but was blowing hard against a weak Tigers outfit. Don’t think he has the tank to sustain a full game in the midfield but will definitely improve.

    • would have loved to see both play in round 0 to have a better look at them

Windsor we only saw half a AAMI game from him, but he had some good match-sim prior to that. I have liked him as a footballer the last couple of years and this might be his big moment. He had a bad run with injury last year, even spent some time in hospital, had a foot problem and did a hammy late in the year. Even without a midfield role, i would have been interested in him.

I’m not sure Blakiston is up to being the sole ruck against the big boys. He had one good quarter in the AAMI that made his score look better than it should have been. There was a game last year, i belive Round 21 against Sydney where he played the first ruck and scored 53 from 90% TOG (against Grundy). He should get at least 5 rounds as ruck, and after that should hold is place in the team as a defender.

  4. who are people thinking are the lock rookies at this point?
Based on team whispers ive rejigged the rookies on my team to be:

    Grlj, Jacques, Sellwood, Serong, Lindsay
    Smith, Sharp, Carroll, Blamires
    McAndrew, ZZ
    Phillipou, Robertson, Marshall, Lombard

any big ones Im missing? Im not sold Lindsay/Sellwood/Carroll but cant think of any guys Id prefer over them TBH.
Based on my experience small forwards like Rosa/Dovaston wont score well, and Im thinking Gibcus as a key back is not as good as the other def options. The port mid rookies have less JS than Carroll in my opinion.

  5. Just wondering what coaches are doing around the captains loophole.

Are coaches picking a player that they know won’t play or are you picking 31 players that are all expected to play and foregoing the loophole.

Thumbs up – non playing player
Thumbs down – foregoing loophole option.

    • I don’t mind it Daz.

No early Bye, and if it doesn’t work, you can trade to someone coming off an early Bye.

I like him the most of the low $500K guys, like Oliver and Steele.

      • i like his price alot, but his round 12 bye is a killer.

if Young doesn’t play, i’m looking at finding the extra cash to get to LDU, like Freo said, he is the best of that $500k price bracket

  6. Best Colby McKercher replacement?

    TU: Serong/Gulden & Watkins (Port)
(Forced to downgrade sharp for $$)

TD: Take a punt on someone 540k or less & hold Dyson Sharp

Could you run 3 premos and 4 mid prices
    Young, parish, coniglio and bruhn

    T.u – could work
    T.d – stupid move

    • Any way to have both Budarick and Flanders up forward? Haven’t heard anything about Powell all pre-season so could be a masterclass or a disaster, don’t know enough to pass opinion

  9. Daniel Annable has been named to debut for Brisbane. The word is that this kid is a jet. 181K MID and was drafted 6 in the 2024 draft. Should we try and start him and save a possible trade? Or wait and watch him this week?

  12. T/U – Dawson + Walsh

    T/D – Merrett + Gulden

In an ideal world it’s Dawson and Walsh but some cash has to give for Dyson Sharp

    • Named in the start group not the interchange, I put him in at $99K, if I can get four or five games make a few dollars. If it doesn’t workout them a cheap C loophole.

      • I think he is derek. $99k could be worth the swing. That he’s mature age feels encouraging. Don’t love small forward rookies. 35k saving over Dovaston.

    • some (very few) leagues start round 1, it depends on how they were set up, but most get cracking in round 2, so you have another week to get it sorted.

  17. I am concerned about Hayden Young’s injury risk. What is the probability he is a late out, (10%?) or what is the probability he breaks down during todays match? (20%?) Perhaps it is smarter not to start him and wait and see how he goes. Coniglio named at half back….He could be a tasty replacement for Young? Thoughts? Cheers TH
