  1. 3 trades left, $129k in the bank. Carrying CCJ & Madden on the FWD bench and have Weightman at F6. Not sure whether to hold or trade him to get to full keeper.

TU: Hold Weightman F6 for now and save the 3 trades
TD: Trade Weightman to Rowan Marshall (gets me to full premo/keeper and 2 trades left for the remainder of the season)

    1. Hey, Nigel.

Personally, I’m not too hot on RoMo. Only 64% TOG last week and plantar fascia injuries can be re-aggravated very easily.

Do you have Ziebell, Hall, Danger and Zorko? They’re the four must-have FWDs rn.

If you’ve got all of them, I’d pass on RoMo, let Weightman make some more coin and then grab Butters or Dunkley when they’re ripe after a game or two.

      1. Thanks Gunboat. Helpful thoughts re RoMo.

Currently have Ziebell, Danger, Dusty, Langford, Stringer and Weightman (CCJ & Madden). Kicking myself I didn’t get Hall or Zorko when they were cheaper.

Langford and Stringer probably leave me a bit exposed from a consistency point of view.

        1. Think Stringer is a solid pick, has that OB role – but that’s come at the expense of all of Langford’s CBAs.

If F6 is your last spot, given you don’t need CCJ on field and have a healthy bank, this week you could go:

          CCJ -> 102k rookie
          (303k ITB)
Weightman -> FWD premo up to 614k

Or, and this would be my preference, just do the CCJ downgrade this week, then let Weightman make a bit more coin and grab Zorko or Dunkley later.

          1

          1. Like that thinking for sure. Downgrading CCJ to a 102k rookie sounds like the right plan to eventually upgrade Weightman. Given CCJ is just bench warming with a zero this week, I might hold fire on a trade for a week or 2 and then if a $102k rookie gets selected (i.e. Durham), then I can trade down to them. Cheers Gunboat.

  2. If that number one draft pick ugle-something is playing do you think he keeps his spot for rest of season? Could swap him for CCJ

    1. I wouldn’t go on him early, Glen, no.

Dogs been very circumspect with their rookies, particularly long term FWD prospects.

They’ll give JUH a go this week with Naughton out, but it’s very possible they bring him back to the 2s and prime him for next year – just like they did with Weightman. Even he does go well and gets a few more games, key FWD rookies often come out for rests.

Considering all that and his elevated price, I wouldn’t go early on him.

For CCJ downgrades this week, see if you can DPP Durham in or if Ford or F. Macrae are named.

  3. Hi all, almost completed my team
Last week I traded Kosi & Weightman > Danger & Durham
Before trades this week I have 6 trades left and $6,800 ITB.
Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
DEF: Laird, Mills, Stewart, Whitfield, Lloyd, Short (Madden, Durham)
MID: Macrae, Oliver, ZMerrett, Jelly, Titch, Walsh, Newcombe, Bianco (Brockman, Downie, Bramble)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)
FWD: Ziebell, Dangerfield, Dusty, Greene, Langford, Bolton (Treacy, Waterman)

    Cheers!!

    1. Hey, JJ. Solid team.

Maybe cash in on Madden and Treacy this week, build a little bank and then do a MID upgrade when your ITB and Bianco/Newcombe can combine for someone serviceable.

      1. Hey GD,
Was suggested to go Madden & Treacy to Sharp and $102,400 rookie. Moving Bianco to Def bench and Brockman Fwd bench. Would have $266,400 for next week. Any suggestions on the $102,400 rookie?

        1. 102k downgrade options and you’ve already got Durham, hmm. Let me think.

Best I can think of would be F. Macrae at 112k?

See if anyone pops up when teamsheets drop in an hour.

I’ll repost here if I think of anyone.

          1. There’s whispers Ginnivin may get a game soon.

I think he kicked 3-4 goals in the two’s a few weeks ago?

            102k M/F Collingwood.

I wouldn’t put my house on him getting a game but his DDP will come in handy.

I’m not sure how many late games Collingwood play ?

He may not be great as a loop ?

              1. Ok JJ

                Hold Madden and Brockman.

I would still go Waterman to Sharp via Brockman

Sharp should score more than Newcombe or Bianco and you free up some cash for next week.

                Good luck.

  4. Is Ridley good again?
Thinking CCJ>Ridley via dpp, and switch Laird to mids for the rest of the year
If I get luxury trades could ditch Daniel or Short later
Or should I go all out and get a 500-600k M8

    4

    0
    1. Ridley not a must have, no.

Cunnington, Zerrett, Wines, Walsh and Danger all are sub-600k and great options.

Keep Laird as a DEF and grab one of them.

  5. 6 trades left before trades so can afford to sideways Langford.

TU: CCJ + Langford -> Danger + Sharp
TD: CCJ + Weightman -> Danger + Sharp

    3

    1
    1. Langford completely shot with Stringer returning and reducing him to single digit CBs.

Sounds crazy, but yeah: flick Langford for Danger. Weightman will get to 350k, then you can grab Butters or, if you can get the cash together, even Dunkley.

  6. Trying to plan my trades so I don’t get priced out of Grundy. Can anyone tell me projected prices for the following?

Grundy (BE 95) if he scores 120
    Grundy if he scores 150

Zac Smith (BE 34) if he scores 40
    Zac Smith if scores 70

    Thanks!

  7. Need some help,

    TU – Danger
    TD – Walsh

Iv been trying to bring walsh in all year but have never had the chance. But leaning to Danger as Walsh worries me against a tag.

The trade would be H.Jones > Sharp and then Jordon to either Danger or Walsh.

    Thoughts?

    5

    0
    1. Danger has a lower BE and you’d think will outscore Walsh (Especially if he gets attention)

Is it to finish off your mids?

      3

      0
      1. It wouldnt quite complete my mids, I would have sharp on field as my final rookie.

        Think il go Danger.

        2

        0
    2. Walsh facing guaranteed tags from O’Connor and Dunstan and maybe even De Boer in R23 if he’s back.

      Grab Danger, looking deadly.

    1. If you definitely need his cash gen to finish your team, yeah he’s the best rookie going around.

  8. got a risky trade scenerio
    in – danger, connolly
    out – short, CCJ

got the trades to do it. Leaves 202k in the bank for next week to go almost full prem.

  9. Do I trade out Madden in order to do my final upgrade if it means no bench cover on that line?

    Yes
    No

  10. Trying to work out if I am better off keeping Highmore or CCJ – one needs to be traded this week for an upgrade & to avoid a donut in the fwd line.

TU: Keep Highmore – stays as my D7 & trade out CCJ (lose my F/R swing)
TD -Keep CCJ – stays as my F7 & R3 via Edwards, & trade out Highmore, Bianco is moved to D7, can swing with Durham.

    13

  11. Do I want sharp as a bit of cover due to only 2 trades left and 60k

    or prefer a 102 k rookie and 100 k to spend

    T/U – Sharp and 60k
    T/D – 102k rookie and 100k

  12. Last on-field upgrade for R2:

    TU: Grundy
    TD: Darcy

I was keyed in on Grundy after his pseudo-price drop but thought I’d take a look at Darcy’s numbers as they are priced similarly. Darcy seems to have a sub-ton sprinkled in every month or so and he won’t get to play Carlton every week (193 last week bumps his average up).

    6

    2
    1. Looked at these two this week as well. Numbers are similar, but gut feel suggests that grundy is priced towards his bottom and darcy at his peak. I also don’t quite trust Darcy as a resilient option based on his injury history, could easily drop a game or two before the end of the year.

  13. Something I’ve never been able to figure out whilst playing SC, does anyone know how to swap 3 DPP’s without using a trade?

I want to loophole Waterman tonight, however I need to do the following which doesn’t seem possible.

    Briggs from Def to Fwd
    H. Sharp from Mid to Def
    Holmes from Fwd to Mid

    Any advice on this please?

    1

    0
    1. They can only be swapped with matching DPP statuses, so unfortunately you can’t shuffle just those players without burning at least one trade.

  14. Still unsure whether I risk it and bring in Danger, or look to save some injury trades.

    Which combo is best

    T/U – Danger & Sub $500k premo (Fyfe, Marshall, Adams) – 1 trade left
    T/D – McCluggage & Marshall/De Goey – 2 trades left

  15. Is it worth going all out to get Danger by cashing in Dev Rob and Poulter? Would mean having to play either Treacy or Waterman at F6 though.

TU – yes, Danger a must have
TD – keep Dev Rob and get Dale instead

    Should i…

TU- Take lairds 123 vc score
    Or
    TD- Captain Macrae

    Cheers.

  18. Facing a donut but only 4 trades left. Can’t justify B Dale as my last upgrade as that takes 2 trades. So to only use 1 trade – who is my F6

    TU – H McKay
    TD – J Darling

Comment if I should use 2 trades to bring in B Dale (already have Danger, Zorko, Dusty, Ziebell & Hawkins). Team would be full premium but with only 2 trades remaining for injuries )

    1. This is a tough one.

It seems by your forwards, that you have avoided all the more risky picks so far. Greene . Heeney. Stringer . Langford. etc..
this gives me more confidence that 2 trades may be enough.

It’s also dependent on the injury profile of the rest of your team ?
Do you have a Neale . Guthrie . Cripps ?
If so hold a trade until we know for certain if they’re fully fit.

It also really comes down to cover. If you have a playing F7, I would go Dale.

If you have no real cover , go the more conservative route, and save $ trades get a cheap F6 now, and a decent M9/F7 down the track.

      Best of luck.

      1. Hi – yes I do have Neale, with mid bench of Bianco (who can DPP with H Sharp in backline) plus Bramble & Newcombe. Highmore D7. Forward line is the problem, with Poulter, CCJ & Briggs all not playing.

If I make the 2 trades required to get B Dale, Poulter & CCJ will be the outs. Cheap rookie trade in will have to be Ginnivan or the like, as not really any playing forward rookies which is problematic.

May just keep an eye on main matchups today and take the donut and hope to find a playing forward rookie next week, and decide on F6 then.

      1. I know..

The way I look at is..

If i had a VC fail and score 90. Then I popped the C on Laird and he scored 123 , I would go phew, ( wipes forehead ) and be happy with it.

I’ve already been caught out trying to get cute passing on a 120 this year. I tried getting a bigger score from Grundy, that was the time he got injured.

        Once bitten twice shy 😉

  20. I have limited money left should I go CCJ to
TU: De Goey to save money
    TD: Marshall

I have Heeney and Langford in my forward line so I’m not sure if i should go for another budget/riskier pick in De Goey (granted Marshall is risky too but he has a stronger history and can be DPP cover)

  21. What to do with Luke Edwards after two poor scores?

TU: cash out now and make upgrades
TD: Hold, he’ll bounce back against North Melbourne at Optus

  22. Hey everyone!

I’ve had some great feedback in thr Trade Talk page but I’m looking here for some final help with a trade situation.

I’m using 1 trade to move CCJ. Not sure if I should go De Goey or wait a week on Bolton.

    TU: De Goey
    TD: Bolton

    Thanks!

  24. Should I put Taranto on the bench and loophole L Edwards so I can get Brambles 120 score. I know this is potentially very risky as Edwards is names 1st emerg on Mon night

Yes do it, Taranto won’t get near 120
    No too risky, trust Taranto
