  1. After replacing Dusty, I’m down to 1 trade remaining with the following ideas:

TU: use the trade to go Jiath to Luke McDonald, meaning I can bench Bianco/Madden
TD: save the trade for any future injury/COVID issues to a premo, meaning I have to field Bianco/Madden for at least this week and possibly the rest of the season

    1. I would be inclined to save the trade, with Jiath out and Hawks traditionally playing later in the week you could always try looping Bianco and Madden.

For instance, put the E on Bianco tonight. Between the two of them you should be able to eek out a minimum of 60 points each week.

In my opinion, Luke McDonald would need to be scoring at least 100-105 to make this viable.

  2. If you had to keep a F6 for the year out of these two?? (the other gets traded)

    TU – Weightman
    TD – CCJ

    1. There is talk that CCJ could be out this week but have not been able to verify,
      Teams will be out soon.

  3. Hi all,
These late season injuries are really annoying me and messing my plans up.
Last week I traded Langford > JDG so I had cash for this week.
Before trades this week I have 4 trades left and $137,200 ITB.
Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
DEF: Laird, , Stewart, Lloyd, Whitfield, Short, Bianco (Madden, Mills)
MID: Walsh, Macrae, Titch, ZMerrett, Oliver, Jelly, Bramble, Sharp (Durham, Newcombe, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)
FWD: Dangerfield, Ziebell , De Goey, Greene, Dusty, Bolton (Brockman, Waterman)
    Cheers!!

  4. A.Waterman omiitted (may be medi-sub). Need his cash for final upgrade next week. Thinking of pulling the trigger this week in case there is more carnage next round. Best fwd downgrade option?

    TU: M.Parker
    TD: Ginnivan

Can get to my upgrade target next week regardless of price difference between Parker & Ginnivan.

    Many thanks!

  5. For those with Steele VC.

“@WestCoastEagles coach Adam Simpson: “His (Mark Hutchings) body has been a bit disrupted this year but consistent WAFL form, he had 30 & kicked 3. His ability to lock someone down, he’s fit, he’s a strong runner. You’ll see the role tomorrow.”

Will he be able to succeed and hold him Steele to a sub 100? That we’ll see.

    1. Yeah I saw this earlier. Have swapped my VC to Miller v Lions. Tough call as my heart still says Steele will dominate.

    1. Does Shiels return affect Parish?

TU: Yes, don’t pick him up next week onwards
TD: No, best mid out there right now (that I don’t have) so grab him.

      1. Will effect Stringer / Langford more so you’d think. (Would expect Stringer to keep his CBA’s though, he’s a monster)

  6. I need one defender and one forward and have a total of $901,600 to spend. These are the two best options that I can think of but I’m open to other suggestions:

    TU: Short and Lambert

    TD: H. Andrews and Bolton

I could also get Zac Williams instead of Andrews.

  7. Offloading Dusty. Will have 1 trade left to move on Pendles next week.

T/U – Guthrie – leaves me $560k for a Pendles upgrade next week
T/D – Bolton – leaves me $600k for a Pendles upgrade next week

  8. Hey DZ.

I have issues with both Andrews and Lambert.

Andrews will have to change roles with Adams out.

Lambert has missed a heap of footy and may go alright this week , I just can’t see him being consistent / staying fit, till the end of the year.

Just don’t go William, he could roll an ankle in a jumping castle.

I’m not sure who you have ?

My options in this price range are..

    Bolton / Thomas and Daniel.

    Hawkins and Lukosius / Hardwick.

Now you can go any combo of these bar Daniel / Hawkins.

Bolton and Daniel is the more conservative approach.

Hawkins is more risk reward paired with a cheaper defender.

    Good luck whatever you choose.

    1. Thanks for taking the time to post such a considered response FT – I agree that most in that price range are either inconsistent or injury-prone (or both). I already have Daniel (started with him in fact… pretty indicative of the type of year I’ve had to be honest).

I think Bolton is the way to go up forward and I’ll have to roll the dice on one of these defenders (of those you mentioned, Lukosius seems most likely).

      1. No Problem Dan.

The only other slightly riskier option is Luke MacDonald.

        $425, 100 …3 r ave 89.6

Now on the wing for North he’s starting to find more ball. He killed it at the end of last year ,although he was playing HB.

        Worth a mention anyway.

  9. Already bringing in Bolton for Dusty, which will leave $30k in the bank.

Is it worth downgrading Madden to Durham to build bank (would give me $184,200 and 4 trades for finals) then hopefully go one up, one down to upgrade a Taranto or Powell-Pepper to a Zorko/Dunkley or similar next week? Alternatively, do I simply save the trade given the number of injuries of late?

Team is currently as follows (with 5 trades remaining):

DEF: Laird, Stewart, Ridley, May, Whitfield, Short (Bianco, Madden)
MID: Macrae, Titch, Zerret, Oliver, Neale, Kelly, Taranto, Cripps (Bramble, D. Williams, H. Sharp)
    RUCK: Grundy, Gawn (Reeves)
FWD: Danger, Ziebell, De Goey, Powell-Pepper, Bolton, Brockman (Marshall, Waterman)

    TU: Build the bank
TD: Hoard the trades for the continuing injury carnage

  10. Pumba

I would hold Madden while he’s playing.

You could you go Waterman to Matt Parker.

This should allow you to upgrade SPP or Cripper next week.

I would keep Taranto and loop him with Sharp / Bramble.

    1. Thanks F.T., Waterman was the other I was eyeing off (especially with the risk of being the medi-sub) but he has a BE of only 16. Either way, I was likely to have sold both of them next week anyway.

Do you rate Parker’s scoring and job security more highly than Durham (both are DPP but Parker is 39k more expensive)?

      1

      1. Yeah I like Parkers JS.

He had a few CBA’s and with Dusty out should get more midfield time.

Durham also gives you little swing ( yet ) with him coming in for Madden.

  11. Anyone know what Zak Butters BE and projected price will be over the next couple of weeks?

Obviously a huge gamble to pick him but could come into calculations in a few weeks if his body holds up and he starts to get his midfield minutes back. Port will certainly want him up and about heading into finals.

    Cheers!

    1. Hey Calvin.

Chaos theory may give you more accurate numbers but by my humble calculations.

Butters will be ~$420K with a BE over 130 again.

I would say with an 80 0dd score next week ( R20 )he should be under $400k in R21.

  12. 3 trades left, 131k in the bank and bramble looking like m8 at this stage

TU: Martin and CCJ into Oliver and M.Parker (50k spare for last trade)
TD: Martin and CCJ into Walsh and Parker/102k player (130k+ spare)

    1

    1. cash spare is wrong way around there but not sure it’s really going to make too much of a difference in the long run

  13. Hi All,

    5 trades left..65k itb

Team atm.. 3 upgrades to go including Dusty

Laird, Lloyd, Whitfield, Short, Ridley, Madden(Bianco, Murphy)
Oliver, Zerrett, Titch, Jelly, Macrae, Steele, Lyons, Sharp( Bramble, Bruhn, Newcombe)
    Gawndy(Reeves)
Ziebell, Hall, Danger, Heeney, Zorko, Dusty ( FMacrae, Waterman)

    Thinking Dusty> Bolton..
And possibly Waterman> Parker to build a bank $180k and finish off defence for first final as happy to keep looping Bramble and Sharp

    TU: Go for it

TD: just Dusty>Bolton $90k bank and bring in say a Durham next week to upgrade a defernder

  14. Dusty Replacement:
Sitting top 2 in all my leagues and will have a double chance. 2 trades left, 1 needs to be for Dusty and ideally I’ll need the other to upgrade Bramble to my final DEF. I’m personally eying off Whitfield once he bottoms out but if I go Bolton I’ll probably have to settle for someone around the 400k mark.

Alternatively, I can wait another week for Butters to bottom out (should be below 400k after next round) and should be able to select both him and Whitfield.

    Which is the better option?

TU: Dusty > Bolton (this week), Bramble > 400k DEF (in a couple weeks)

TD: Dusty > Butters (after next round), Bramble > Whitfield (in a couple weeks)
