Ginnivan interviewed on SEN this morning mentioned that Lloyd Meek was sore in 4th quarter of yesterdays game and might not get up for next week.
Not sure how to much to read into Dr. Ginny’s analysis but thought worth a mention.

A big watch on injury list as he wore a moon boot coming off the plane last night then went to have scans this morning.

Collingwood: Joe Richards is set to spend at least a month on the sidelines with a foot injury.
Gold Coast: Will Graham had 28 disposals, 8 clearances and 8 tackles in VFL.
Geelong have accepted the one game sanctions offered to Mark Blicavs and Jhye Clark, both will miss this Saturday night’s game against Richmond.
Richmond: Jacob Hopper’s recovery from a hamstring injury is progressing slower than he and the club had hoped. As a result, his timeline now more medium than short term.
Richmond: Bolton has entered concussion protocols.
Reminder that The 2024 Mid-Season Rookie Draft is on this Wednesday with 127 players so far approved to be selected.

The Kangaroos will have the No.1 pick in the draft if they confirm a list vacancy by Tuesday night’s deadline.
Port Adelaide: Connor Rozee.
Rozee rolled his ankle early in the win over North Melbourne on Saturday.
Assistant coach Tyson Goldsack said that Rozee’s ankle had improved over the weekend and it would be given until Tuesday’s main training to see how it settles, before team selection is finalised.
Port Adelaide: Ivan Soldo
“He played on the weekend and showed some good signs, and was relatively pain free, which is good. His comeback was kind of what we expected it to be. We’ve got some minutes and some km’s into his legs, and it’s was a pretty tough game for the Maggies. He’s putting his hand up to play whether it’s AFL or SANFL again.”
“He’s recovered from his injury. So it’s more about did he perform at the level that AFL required to and we’ll make that decision.”

Western Bulldogs: Aaron Naughton
Scans revealed a moderate grade medial ligament injury and he will miss the next 4-6 weeks.
Mason Cox has been ruled out for 6 weeks with MCL injury. Joe Richards has a foot fracture and won’t return before Rd 16. Brody Mihocek to miss 2-4 weeks with hamstring strain. Jordan De Goey out for another month. Full details on @AFLcomau

Ed Richards and Anthony Scott will both sit within the concussion protocols, with the pair to be monitored before a return to play guidelines is assessed.

Collingwood:
Brody Mihocek – After scans he will possibly miss up to four weeks with a low-grade hamstring strain.
Mason Cox – Will miss the next six weeks with a grade-two medial collateral ligament injury.
Jordan De Goey – is set to miss the next three or four weeks with an acute abdominal injury, following further investigation after he was ruled out of the game in Perth.
Joe Richards – scans have revealed a metatarsal fracture in his foot, placing him on the sidelines until round 16 at the earliest.
Scott Pendlebury will be available against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium on Friday night after being cleared of an arm injury.
Jeremy Howe could return this weekend after missing the past two games due to an adductor strain, to provide another option in attack.
Reef McInnes is on track to pass concussion protocols
Jack Bytel will also be available if he trains fully on Wednesday.
Match Review:
Brady Hough has been charged with tripping Taylor Walker.
The Match Review Officer graded the incident as intentional, low impact, body contact.
It is Hough’s second tripping offence, meaning he has been fined $6,250 (3,750 with an early plea).
Sydney: Luke Parker will sit out another five games after the appeal against his VFL suspension failed.
Parker will miss another five matches, having already served one, after the VFL Appeal Board dismissed his challenge on Monday night.
Essendon: Ben Hobbs – calf strain, will be unavailable until at least round 15
Collingwood: Harvey Harrison is the round 11 AFL Rising Star nominee

Connor Rozee has missed Port’s entire main session.
Ken Hinkley said before training that he could potentially play through pain of ankle injury, but skipper now less likely to face Blues.
Soldo in A team today, with Sweet in Bs.

I still think getting Sweet at R2 was a perfectly justifiable tactic (I traded out of Marshall when he was looking sore), but Sweet getting sick and then dropped really stuffed the strategy. Those two extra weeks cash gen would’ve been huge. Roll with the punches I guess.

Essendon is having some issues with a virus that’s sweeping through the club, mostly impacting staff but also some players.
In a bid to avoid the entire list getting sick at once, a portion of players were told to stay at home today & tomorrow… Effectively splitting the group to minimise a possible spread. Modified programs have been organised for the week.
Main training is Thursday. At this stage it’s going ahead as planned, but the Bombers will not take any risks. It is unclear whether the virus is a flu or Covid or a bit of both.

Collingwood: McRae has announced at today’s press conference that Scott Pendlebury will miss Friday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs
Port Adelaide: Connor Rozee absent from captain’s run today.
Both Soldo and Sweet are training on Adelaide Oval.
Jordon Sweet has the best HTA% (35.4%) of any ruckman to play at least 4 games this year. Tim English (34.7%) and Ivan Soldo (33.9%) round out the top 3.

Sinclair said that he would likely play more half back when Hunter Clark and Brad Crouch return.
He had a season high CBA last week of 92.6 %
Gidday CT, thoughts on what that does for his SC scoring. I think he scores better playing the that role.

North Melbourne: Coach Alastair Clarkson is being investigated by the AFL for allegedly verbally abusing the umpires’ bench during round 11
He has a suspended two-game ban, until the end of the 2025 season that will be immediately activated if he is again found guilty of conduct unbecoming in that time.

Essendon: Brad Scott is hopeful that implementing COVID-style protocols after a virus stuck the club, has avoided a catastrophe.
He insisted that no players would be sidelined by the virus.
Hawthorn: Lloyd Meek will miss due to a syndesmosis injury, giving Ned Reeves an opportunity.

Richmond: Kaleb Smith $123,900 DEF to debut against Geelong.
The 19-year-old defender earned his debut after showcasing fine form at VFL level.
Selected with pick No. 49 in the 2022 NAB AFL Draft from East Fremantle endured a frustrating inaugural year in the system.
He was placed on the inactive list this time last year due to a stress fracture in the navicular bone in his right foot.
Smith regularly plays off half-back, has been improving by the week in 2024.
Averaging 20 disposals, six rebound-50s and five marks per game in the VFL, Smith has been knocking down the door for his opportunity, drawing recent praise from VFL coach Steve Morris.
“He continues to get better,” Morris said of Smith.
“This is a player that is really only in his first season of footy, and he’s showing some fantastic signs.
“He’s had a great six-to-eight weeks of footy… I’m really looking forward to seeing his continued progression.”

Just being reported by Fox that he looks to be a test for next week
The Suns say ruck Jarrod Witts will be a test for next week’s clash with St Kilda given his hamstring is only a minor issue.
Feels like they might not risk him with a bye in R14, but nonetheless he’s not yet been ruled out.

I’m taking the punt on him. Banking that Gold Coast don’t risk Witts travelling next week the week before a bye. If Moyle plays 2 more games he makes enough coin to be worth it.
I traded sweet out last night with a view to deciding who to actually settle on bringing in when final teams were announced. Taking the punt on Moyle!

That type of tackle is definitely a modern phenomenon. No-one sling tackled back in the day, imo.
