Western Bulldogs: Adam Treloar will have a fitness test on Thursday as he pushes for a return from multiple calf injuries. Dogs still debating whether he returns via the VFL or AFL.
“We rate him highly. He has already brought his clear attributes over to VFL and against older opponents. We will will bring him in when we think he is ready…. but its a lot closer than you may think”
Brad Scott
“Callum is still rehabilitating from his plantar fascia tear. He did not complete all the training required last week for him to be available for selection. He will aim to complete team training this week. Week to week upon re-assessment.”
Brisbane: Keidean Coleman is set to play his first game since rupturing his ACL in Opening Round last season. Still needs to get through training on Thursday and the defender may come back through the VFL.
Ross Lyon confirms Mattaes Phillipou will play in the AFL this week, if he gets through training. Hugo Garcia WON’T be dropped, despite his second quarter subbing last week
UPDATE
Mattaes Phillipou left the track after training for about 35 minutes. Was definitely motioning at his leg – he had a stress related injury in his femur at the back end of the pre-season.
North Melbourne: George Wardlaw will NOT be playing tomorrow night. He is being managed off a five-day break + travel & + a corky given his injury history.
THE AFL last night wrote to clubs informing them that the stand rule will be a focus this week after concerns of a “creep” by some teams. The league is also concerned by a rise in umpire contact and is threatening more free kicks and suspensions if it doesn’t cease.
There is an acknowledgement from Melbourne and Oliver himself that Oliver needs a break. He’s not been feeling at his best so they are looking after him this weekend. Club expected to release a statement this evening.
“Clayton has had a difficult week personally and as such, both he and the club have agreed that it would be best for him not to play against the Eagles on Saturday,” Dees footy boss Alan Richardson said.
“We expect Clayton to return to the program next week, but as always his mental and physical health will be the priority.
“As an industry, it’s pleasing to see the progress we’ve made in normalising players putting their hand up when they need support.
“The club’s focus is on surrounding Clayton with the care he needs and we ask that his privacy is respected.”
Western Bulldogs: Adam Treloar will play against Port Adelaide in Ballarat. First game of 2025 for the 2024 All-Australian. Jason Johannisen cleared for his 200th
Brayden Fiorini 47 possessions, 11 tackles and three goals in that game!
Surely, surely he asks for a trade at the end of this season. I don’t care if he’s the worst kick in the comp, he’s way too good to be running around in the VFL at 27 yo.
