Tom Lynch received a one week suspension for his bump on Tom DeKoning

Richmond is challenging Tom Lynch’s one-match ban. 

Jack Scrimshaw handed a three-game ban for striking. Careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

Hawthorn will challenge Jack Scrimshaw’s 3 week ban.

Sydney v Brisbane

Sydney’s Justin McInerney was suspended for 3 games for his bump on Brisbane’s Brandon Strarcevich. It was graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

In an eventful night for McInerney he was also fined $11,250 ($6,875 guilty plea) for two separate incidents during the game.

He engaged in rough conduct against Brisbane’s Jarrod Berry , which was a second offence and resulted in a $5,000 ($3,125 guilty plea) during the third quarter.

McInerney in the fourth quarter was sanctioned for tripping (second offence) Noah Answerth, $6,250 ($3,750 guilty plea) after the MRO graded it as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.

Sydney have accepted the three-match ban. They will not challenge.

Harris Andrew (rough conduct on Oliver Florent – $3,000),Darcy Fort (striking Breden Campbell – $3,000) and James Jordon (careless contact with an umpire – $3,125) were also penalised.

Jackson Archer was suspended for 3 weeks for his hit on Luke Cleary. The incident was graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact

Jaeger O’Meare fined $3,000 ($2,000 guilty plea) for rough conduct o Oliver Dempsey. MRO graded the incident as careless conduct, low impact and high contact charge.

Willem Drew (PA) was fined twice for careless contact with an umpire. Once in the first quarter and once in the fourth.

Drew will need to pay $6,250 ($3,750 guilty plea) for the charge.

  1. Gold Coast: Charlie Ballard will be sent for scans after suffering a knee injury.

    “He’ll go for a scan first thing tomorrow I would say … it might be a possibility,” Hardwick said before stopping himself on Sunday night.

    “I don’t want to say actually. I’d just rather wait and we’ll get the scan results, because we need him.

    “He’s such an important player for us, important both on the field and off the field. Great locker room guy, glue guy as well. So we’ve got our fingers crossed that everything’s okay.”

    “I thought he was a superstar today, one of the best games I think I’ve seen a ruck play.

    “So he was really, really strong, gave us first use, hunted the ball in around the contest. And, you know, it was a great result for us.”

    Scans conducted on Saturday morning revealed the strain, with the recovery period expected to be 4-6 weeks.
