Carlton will give an update on Sam Walsh more than likely early next week. Sam continues to build his training load with the club taking a very cautious approach. It is expected if all goes well Walsh may return within four weeks but the club will not be locked in to a time frame
Melbourne:
Jake Lever – has some knee soreness but has escaped any structural damage and could even be cleared to face Port Adelaide this Saturday night.
Steven May – two cracked ribs and will miss this week, but the club is hopeful he’ll return the following Thursday.

The Match Review Officer graded the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contract, referring the matter straight to the Tribunal.
St Kilda: Max King was unsuccessful at the Tribunal and will miss this week’s match against Essendon.
King was cited for a high bump on Finlay Macrae, collecting him in the head after he had disposed of the ball in Thursday night’s match at the MCG.
The bump was deemed careless conduct, high contact and medium impact, drawing a one-match ban.
“This is a disappointing situation, but I understand the reasoning behind the decision and will respectfully sit out this week,” King said after the hearing.
