Poll: Steele

Written by Gunboat Diplomacy on May 17 2022

Struck down by an AC joint injury, Jack Steele is now set for 6 – 8 weeks on the sidelines and warrants replacement. He’s been barrelled out on a 109.4 average at $590.8k and down $95k on his starting price. The bulk of the trade out MID options will allow coaches to pocket a little bit of coin while there are two that will require a chunky upfront investment, however that might be prudent to pay up. So, the question follows:

*This poll’s been put together assuming everyone owns Jack Macrae, Lachie Neale, Touk Miller and Clayton Oliver. If you don’t have one of them, they’re the obvious replacement options. Similarly, everyone pretty much has Patrick Cripps.

Who's the best Steele replacement option?

    1. Mills BE is high, give him one or two weeks when his BE is a bit lower cost less. Might be a good trade in during the bye rounds.

    2. He also throws up some very low scores too (he’s had a 60, 70 and 80 to go with some big scores) … think I’d much rather a consistent scorer than one who goes high and low at times …

That said, he’s still second highest point scorer and average … so it’s working for him either way you look at it …

  1. Think most are a toss up. Wines could be a great value pick but I reckon pick whoever fits your bye structure

  3. Not a Steele owner but he was my upgrade target this week so I have 700k there to grab another uber now thankfully I didn’t bring him in a week earlier haha At this point in time it’s probably someone from R13 to fit my byes, Laird most likely for his higher floor than mills.
