The presence of several viable ruck cows, plus an uber-expensive Max Gawn and a tight salary cap, meant that a number coaches ended up experimenting in the ruck department this year.

Now, knowing what you now do after two rounds of football, what ruck setup would you go for if you were starting from scratch?

Started with gawn and Flynn, ranked 166. It’s paid off so far, but still this strategy is an injury away from ruining my season.
Pattons,
I started the same way, but don’t see the issue you raise.
Whose on your ruck bench?
I’ve got Meeks, if Flynn goes down, Meeks can cover, if Gawn goes down, the money is there to trade in any ruck you want.
Mallee Boy
Would not a Gawn and Grundy be equally so, especially given G & G would both lose far more cash off a low injury score than Flynn would?
A premium and Flynn with hindsight appears to be the right move given his 140 R1. I have Flynn on the bench so happy with him for cash gen but will say two weeks of 60’s and guns going big can swing it drastically.
A small sample size is always misleading.
Anyone with 2 premiums, do not think to trade down
RooBloke might know a little more about this than me, but I was thinking that by selecting Goldy at R1 I’m effectively selecting 2 premiums given Goldy will average between 140-180.
What?
I mean, he’s at 184 already, so the numbers are definitely in your favour… … … …
If Goldy averages 140 ill whistle dixie
Goldy will struggle to average 90.
The scoring system has changed.
There are far less ball ups. Something like 15% per game.
Deal and move on. The past ain’t coming back anytime soon.
I’m using a luxury/strategic trade as I’ve avoided carnage and hit rookies.
Have 5 premos mids, dropping Merrett and hunter, bringing in grundy and berry.
Feel like I have been lucky with Flynn and broke even. Actually helps my bye structure and from what I can tell top 500 is littered with teams with 1 prem 1 rookie in the ruck. Ranked 255
