Bailey Smith, meanwhile, was sent for scans this week, and, after several weeks of reduced output with Dunkley back in the team, faces the prospect of even further reduced output with Lachie Hunter set to return this round.

Many of Sam Docherty’s owners have been disappointed for the last few weeks – is it time to move him on?

Finally, Patrick Cripps hasn’t been at his best for much of this season. Is it time to move him on, or are you backing him in to bounce back for the run home?

  1. Gawn to;

    Tu; Goldy

    Td; Nic Nat

Although nic Nat has had the bye, worried the eagles may rest him eventually to try manage his load. Thoughts?

  2. Gawn>Nic Nat
    Pickett>Tom Mitchell

    or dpp cameron/draper into R2,
    Pickett>Tom Mitchell
Bring in L Sholl to D7
Leaves me 1Def, 2Mid, 1Ruc, 1Fwd to upgrade with 11 trades and $400k in the bank

  3. Any word on how long Maxxy will be out for? So far they’ve said he won’t get up v Pies, but nothing on the actual extent of his injury. Hmm.

        1. greenwood averaging 95 @ metricon
          averaging 134 away from metricon
his next 2 games are @ the gabba & TIO
          even @ 95 av & sub 500k , with a DP , seems like good value

    1. Goodwin – Max won’t play. He did some running yesterday and he’s started his progression forward but we’re really confident of [having him back] the following week, but we’re going to leave him out of tomorrow’s game,” he said on Friday.

      1. Goldy’s averaging 102 over the last month
        if that’s the forecast @ 575k
would have to say there’s a lot better value out there

  4. Undecided what to do with Gawn. I do have Draper as R3 as cover (but that didn’t pan out last week). So I either risk it & hope Draper gets named, which won’t be until after the Melb game, or trade out Gawn – I do have D Cameron in my forward line, so to complicate matters even further, if I trade out Gawn, do I move D Cameron to the Rucks, and then use the money to trade in a premium forward or mid, or just trade in a replacement ruck like Goldy. Leaning more towards holding Gawn, if only for the facts that its top 18 players scores this week only, and he will be my non playing player that I can use as Captain if Neale goes big. Will wait until team announcements tonight for tomorrows games, and if there is another non playing player from Coll, Melb, Freo or Carlton, that I can use as Captain, then that will require more thinking on the matter. I hate it with the teams only announced the night before.

    1. My thoughts exactly.
Currently have Grundy/Gawn (Draper) in ruck division with Cameron in F7

Used two trades used last night and now have $247000 ITB
TU: Rankine or Georgiades to Greenwood (keeping Gawn as R3)
TD: Gawn to Petracca/Brayshaw (DPP Cameron to R3) with $350K for future trades

  5. Many of them are not worth trading as there are other areas where a larger point difference can occur.
Example, Docherty might score 80-90 each week, but if you have a rookie still on the field, making 60-70 a round and is almost at ceiling price.
Spending slightly more on the rookie to a premo averaging 100 is better than spending similar amount on a premo averaging 105 for Doc.
You make up more points with the rookie trade and still have potential of Doc returning to form.

Unless you have a full premo side, then you can upgrade your poor performing premos

    1. Agree. Average preforming premiums stay until all rookies on field are gone. Worst scenario a premium gives you a 60-70. Better then a rookie 20.

      1. With Rounds 14-17 being Best of 18, surely that gives the upgrading Docherty argument some weight? (Although not much) Especially considering the current defensive rookies seem pretty solid so far

  6. Considering a make or break move, Gawn to Draper, McKay and Dev Smith to Fyfe and Petracca.

Draper back to Gawn in 3 weeks. This move relies on Draper being named. Chances of that are?

        1. Almost positive mate, I’m as confident as I was last week when I told everyone Draper would be rested, as was the case. He was rested last week as he has only just returned from a knee injury, furthermore, Saint Kilda play two ruckmen (assuming Ryder returns) so Draper will be back in to combat that. If Ryder is not named then I of course become a little less confident, but I’d like to think Draper is now our number 1 – for now anyway.

          1. Tom Bellchambers is also under an injury cloud, you’d think this cements drapers spot this week.

  7. Thoughts on Dumont,
Surprised at the lack of ownership 630
Not saying I’m thinking of getting him,
Just putting out there, wouldn’t be the worst idea,
Love to hear from some North Melb

    1. Dumont has been amazing, especially with no Cunnington and Jy Simpkins average down a bit over the last 5 weeks. He has a high CBA with goldy service. Was thinking him 100k ago but now I’d prefer a fyfe or Adams sort who has the higher ceiling for that price. Amazing POD if he keeps this up though

  8. With Gawn looking very likely to come back next week I’m going to hold with duck cover this week, save my trade and prioritise rookies. He’ll make up the points in the back end if he can get back into the groove. Has another 8 days before Melbourne play again and was close to playing this weekend meaning he should get up next weekend.
