Spent so much time trying to get everything up to scratch for the tech leagues I put the VC on Dunks and forgot to take it off Satan, so starting behind from game 1. That’s what you get for being a dork!!
Oh no Jimmy! That’s a shame mate – and you do such a good job with the Tech league side too mate … at least 112 from Oliver isn’t too bad … you could have left it on Maxxie if you had him! (glass half full!)
600/5 v/c Bont into C steele
Petracca, English, Dunkley, , Gawn
Good start . Put a team last minute before bounce with a bit of help from PBuzz. wink * Criteria for Team – High scoring ceiling , High Risk .
Trac, speaks for himself. Dunks and Macrae usual outings. Short ripper first half, faded in the second half but still a respectable score. Had Gibcus who I’ve looped in, think the 56 will be a decent enough score to rock!
495/3 – Went straight out V on Macca as I want warm bodies across all lines.
No Gawn either to fund my DEF with lack of rookies. Yes, I know it’s only 1 game but small wins!
…VC on Macrae with C on Touk…no loophole at the moment as I’m hoping to have all 30 playing…should i restructure and take Macrae’s points or punt on Touk?
Just to refresh, to utilise the Macrae VC i need to put a non playing player on the field, then captain them. And put the E on the bench player who is playing to get their score also?
Nothing outstanding as yet !
342 from 3
VC Steel & C Miller.. we’ll see how that ends up after ditching English at the last minute..Doh !!
Cudoss to all those who had Tracca !
I was a little nervous Thursday, after starting Gawn and Oliver. Their combined clanger count was enormous. Looking back now they were still quite solid, and that was probably their hardest matchup for a few months so I’m sure they improve.
My lowest on field score so far is 70 from Gov. I was never huge on Crisp ( although I’m sure he comes good. ) and I faded Steele for Miller late, so dodged a few poor scores early. I started Steele over Oliver last year and although a fantastic pick he did less well early, and became cheaper at the Byes , before exploding in the back half of the year. I’m hoping to get him under $600K if he drops that far again. Owens at M10 is my biggest fail so far. He may need correcting after next week.
Hayes locked at R3 is a blessing in disguise. I’m sure I would go a loop just to get his score. Short term gain for a long-term cash loss. I was unsure on Dixon, as I was considering both N.Martin and Baldwin. Dixon gets a run now, as I want to be able to swing Hayes forward next week. Baldwin makes way as he’s a tall forward.
Still to play I have..
Whitfield
Cogs
P McCartin
Neale
Butters
Berry
JHF
Ward
Ryan
Brodie
Rachele
Hinge
Miller x2
I’ve taken the VC score on Macrae because Crisp stunk it up last night (no point doubling up on risk), and I can get Hayes’ score at F6.
It wasn’t Crisp’s score that stings, it was the way he played – always seven steps behind the play, in a dinner suit that wouldn’t have had a crease or grass stain on it after the game, and the only touches he got in the first three quarters were when everyone else had run past the ball. He’s no midfielder – so out for Doc or the Seagull immediately – and never again – not even if he gets 200 next week. Filthy at myself for following the hype.
In agreeing with the wise words of Wighty and Lisa, I stuck with Long as a loop. Legends! Then, thanks to the chat over the last day or two from those monitoring Hayes for a R1 ruck solution (i.e. a score keeper if he tons up), I had the E on Hayes in the forward line. Switching long with Rachele gets me a nice 127 at F6! Happy days!
I’ve got Parish, Cogs, P.McCartin, Butters, Xerri, JHF, Ward, Ryan, Dawson, Brodie and Rowell to come…fingers crossed for a good run home.
Just quickly on Doc – consider the mindset of a fallen gun who suddenly finds himself under a super coach, playing with one of the best emerging lists in the comp, clearly in great nick, and can you imagine how good it is for him after feeling like everything he stands for had been taken away from him – for a second time?
I wanted Macrae’s VC score, but I don’t have anyone to loophole him with seems that Parker is my loophole guy (but played on Wednesday). So my hopes are on Miller.
Not bad so far as a team, although the only two that’s scored under 70 is Crisp and Ridley. Tbh, I’ve noticed quite a few of the premo backs that have played so far haven’t done too well. So my backline is gonna have to rely on Chapman and Hinge’s performances tomorrow. Apart from that, been happy with my mids, rucks and forwards so far.
1821/16/Macrae
Just have Horne Francis, Ryan, Rachele, Hinge, Witts and Rowell to play.
Good: Gresham, Blakey, starting Nick Martin, and basically every premo
Bad: Mills, Coniglio and Whitfield. Mills dropped off after good start for 84, also had 52% DE. Coniglio owned by all so no real issue. Many defenders have done poor so Whitfield no real worry
I seriously dunno what’s going on with backline scoring. Individual rounds are a small sample size. The whole season is what matters.
Also some teams, especially those with an influx of players due to recruitment or injury recovery, late covid outs, or new coaches, quite clearly did not gel.
There were some good scoring defenders obviously. Sicily, Hewett and Docherty – who I tossed up as a last minute in for Lloyd before going Dawson .
These guys all massively outscored price expectations.
So too Jiath and Houston – which is another I’m kicking myself over since I dropped him quite late (in Fantasy not SC).
Hall was great if you had him too, and Ziebell, but there looks to be a lot of defenders in that North line up (especially when you include defensively minded mids). Essendon, Hawthorn and Collingwood have that issue too which is why some of those teams have defenders with absolutely dud scores despite some good ones from others.
As such, there are some “premos” that I’ve selected that I have some serious concerns about. It’s not the score per se but the role, and either the competition in that role or the efficiency. I’ll let you work out who.
So, are there rage trades coming?
Not off one round’s results, but you start to combine it with form in preseason, role changes and opportunity cost of missing successful players and rookies you get educated trades with a bit of extra venom. 🙂
Good: Have Martin loopholed so that’s good. So it’s closer to 1530/16
Miller, Rowell, Chapman, Brodie, JHF and Ward still to come. Hopefully in range for a 2200 score.
Bad: Ridley, Whitfield and Mcinnerny all did crap. Really just want to rage trade all of them since they probably performed 150 points less then expectation combined.
1859 with 6 to play
Sicily, Ward, Rowell, JHF, Rachele and Brodie. English in the ruck and with Pruess as C for MacRae.
Got Hayes looped but not Martin
Yay Cripps Hewitt
Boo Steele, Ridley, Whitfield
Never trade a premium Nick- waste of trade and it’ll come back to burn!
Forget one game- his durability and talent will mean he’ll average better than first week!
1854. Rochile and luke ryan. playing with witt and rowell left. So who knows what I will score. I do want know would anyone consider chol. Instead of witts
1892/20 Rowell and Miller (c) to come (hough and Dixon on bench). Forecast is 2135 but realistically will be disappointed with anything under 2222 as they’ve got Rowell at 47 and Miller at 98.
Plus 2222 would make Ritchie Benaud very excited.
Hayes off field. Took MacDonald over Martin to get Rachelle on field before round started, so it wasn’t all bad.
It’s my “premo” defenders who have been a disaster – Ridley and Crisp in particular. Ward on field poor too.
Ok, I will start.
441, 4, Macrae VC, Steele C.
Will be some great first game scores.
lookin like Macrae, Dunk, Oliver and Treloar eh CT?? *wink*!
Nice start mate!
Lol, great guess Macca!
Yes, as per my team reveal.
I haven’t change anything as yet but team lists tomorrow may change that?
Legend CT! Great calls thus far mate – long may it continue over the weekend!!
454-4-VC: Macrae/C: Miller
Do I take Macrae’s 133 VC score, or do I take a chance with Miller as captain?
366/3
Macrae, Dunks, Dale.
Bring on Thursday teamsheets.
Nice call with Dale GD. Good start
interesting GD – you didn’t have Dale in your team reveals … whose place did he take? Ridley? or upgrade of Hewett?
Thanks, fellas.
Yeah, Macca, ended up swapping a FWD premo (Heeney) for Dale for DEF depth.
Had been liking Dale all pre-season, was going to end up in there somehow.
Good call GD!!
VC Tracca English Macrae Dunks – 4/699 and stoked
474 from Clarrie (C), Macrae and Dunks.
454, 4, Macrae VC
I’ll def take Macrae score, soz Steele
Nothing earthshattering as I only had one player from these two teams in the end.
Macrae 133/1. VC though so will probably lock that in.
Ordinary start for the Ninjas but the team likes to warm up before league games actually start!
5/512 , VC Steele into C Miller
362/3
VC on Macrae, I’ll lock that in so 495/3
443/2/Peris
688/4/Petracca VC
Very happy with the start
319 from 3 (English, Dunks and Treloar). Unfortunately didn’t back my gut with Petracca.
Looking at a value mid option, keen to hear your thoughts:
TU: Jelly
TD: Brayshaw
352-3 – VC Clarry
So guess it’s Gonna be Captain Touk on Sunday
How the heck do I trade when you hit T on a player but you get no players to pick from? Also I can only view the first 6 games in the fixture!FFS!!!
@Black st Boy – After you hit T, tap the minus sign on the player you want to delist, then your options come up to select from.
Scored 373/4 dunks, English, Richards and bowey. Happy with start as Gawn didn’t hurt me this game. Macrae out of my side … what was I thinking
506 /3
English-Dunkley and captain McRae
Hope the rest of the week pans out
Accidentally forgot to switch the C to VC but all is well
656/6
Had VC on Gawn, but will go elsewhere, probably Neale.
485/4 Macrea v / Miller C
English , Dunkley , Oliver ,
600/5 v/c Bont into C steele
Petracca, English, Dunkley, , Gawn
Good start . Put a team last minute before bounce with a bit of help from PBuzz. wink * Criteria for Team – High scoring ceiling , High Risk .
Gday lads, ripper start to the round.
576/3/ VC Trac (looping for C)
Trac, Macrae and Dunkley.
Did a last second switch from Oliver to Trac, paying off for round 1!
Couldnt have gone much better for you
741/5/C Trac
Trac, speaks for himself. Dunks and Macrae usual outings. Short ripper first half, faded in the second half but still a respectable score. Had Gibcus who I’ve looped in, think the 56 will be a decent enough score to rock!
495/3 – Went straight out V on Macca as I want warm bodies across all lines.
No Gawn either to fund my DEF with lack of rookies. Yes, I know it’s only 1 game but small wins!
4/638 if i take Macca VC
Just to clarify, if i muck around with my team today can i still reverse changes ?
Cheers Matt
380 if I take Macrae as VC, which I will. Only players were Macrae and Dunkley, and should have had petracca but swapped him out last minute
443/2 Tracca VC (Looping for C).
Dunks and Tracca.
Absolutely frothing!
342/3
…VC on Macrae with C on Touk…no loophole at the moment as I’m hoping to have all 30 playing…should i restructure and take Macrae’s points or punt on Touk?
TU: Take what you can ….Macrae
TD: punt on Touk
4 – 485
Oliver, Dunkley, English and Macrae VC
Just to refresh, to utilise the Macrae VC i need to put a non playing player on the field, then captain them. And put the E on the bench player who is playing to get their score also?
Off topic , first rage trade of the season ?
560 from 5.
Macrae
Oliver
Dunkley
Enlgish
Richards
Nothing outstanding as yet !
342 from 3
VC Steel & C Miller.. we’ll see how that ends up after ditching English at the last minute..Doh !!
Cudoss to all those who had Tracca !
Lot of chat about taking Macrae’s 133. Assume you’re playing a non-playing rookie then?
TU – play a non-player for loophole purposes
TD – cash is king, playing rookies only
587/4 – Macrae VC (Wilmot will act as loop).
4/468 OLIVER ENGLISH DUNKS DALE
413/3/Macrae v so 133 to come.
Went Trac not Satan, Dunks the third.
Nice on the Trac pick Wighty did you VC him ?
No mate…Macrae but happy with that.
Solid.
Who are your Rucks ?
Grundy and Witts
4 / 454 / Oliver VC. Touk C v WC reserves .
One hour to go folks.May the SC gods be with you !

Best of luck to everyone on Super Saturday.
1954 / 21 / Touk x2 to come.
Ryan continues the shocking form of “Premo” Defenders.
844/7 after tonight & I’ve got the VC on Macrae to make it 977.
TU: take the Macrae score
TD: roll the dice with C on Parish
1,395 / 11

659/6 Grundy VC to Touk C. Preuss at R2
Happy to take Macrae’s vc score and happy to take Gibcus score of 56 as well, but who do I bench?
TU S.Dekoning
TD Hinge
949/7 including Macrae VC score, proposed Captain Touk Miller still throwing up whether to roll that dice
TU – Whitfield/Xerri
TD – TStewart/Martin (ESS)
510, 5, VC Macrae.
Moving Long fwd loophole as my C to get Macrae’s C & Durdin’s score and bench
D. Stephens.
Also taking Gibcus’ 56 at D6.
1048/8/Preuss
1186 /9 vc Tracca
I left Gibcus and Hayes out of reserve choices and i’m stuck with SDK
Crisp Steele more like chinese cast iron
657/6 vc Macrae gonna roll with Touk
Hayes on bench wasted will swap forward with Dixon next week. If he was forward bench I’d trade in a donut and take his 127 and Macrae’s 133.
Crisp my only disappointment so far.
812/8 with Neale captain as I have all 30 playing
Treloar & Gibcus only scores under 85
Still have plenty to come so at this stage looking like a handy 1st round
Where we thinking par score and good score is rd 1.? 2o50 par/ 2250 good..
Anything over 2100 gives u a great start

Who to field at F6
TU- Xerri

Hope you fielded Rachele – I didn’t and I’m kicking myself

As Homer would say with echo sound effects
Doh doh doh doh………………………

Weagles putting a good fight up despite their injury/covid crisis. Good game.
Wow , .are some big numbers out there, in leagues i am in, and thought my 2400ish was special. So not.
