Thanks to Schwarzwalder for last night’s post. froffershanners has also generously put an article together to give us his view of the opening week of Racing SuperCoach. In future weeks, we’ll co-ordinate things a little better so we’re not doubling up.
Supercoach Racing kicks off this week and will scratch that Supercoach itch for many of us in between the AFL and BBL seasons.
Supercoach Racing is basically a daily fantasy format with unlimited trades per round so when picking your stable for week 1 do not select any horses that are not running.
Thought I’d give a quick rundown of some of the group 1 races and my thoughts on some horses to consider outside of those races this weekend and hopefully can point you in the right direction when selecting your stable.
Note that the below is purely based off Supercoach value and Supercoach options and is in no way shape or form my betting preview of the races.
Randwick Race 5 – Group 1 Flight Stakes
Big points up for grabs in a small field is Supercoach Gold, with only seven horses in the field every horse is guaranteed at least 10 points. The downside here is that even though you’re guaranteed points your horse is also more likely to come last or second last and lose some cash for you.
Think the favourite Hungry Heart ($200k) and the second favourite Dame Giselle ($225k) will be locked into a lot of stables this week with both being favourable captaincy options. Outside of that it is hard to talk you out of anyone but think Miravelle ($75k) is the best value option away from the favourites. Personally I’m looking at having potentially five started in my stable from this race this weekend.
Randwick Race 8 – Group 1 Metropolitan
The last of the group 1’s in Sydney gives us another very good option with Mugatoo ($325k) to start favourite in the race. The value pick outside of the favourite is Zebrowski ($250k)
Randwick Race 7 – Group 1 Epsom
A big and open field assembled here for the Epsom makes it difficult to recommend anyone.
Flemington Race 7 – Group 1 Turnbull
With Verry Elleegant ($475k) landing here after dual accepting into Sydney think this is your best option in the race but away from the favourite think Surprise Baby, Superstorm and Master of Wine (all $375k) look good options.
Best of the Rest
Nature Strip ($500k) will line up as a short priced favourite in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes and might be worth his hefty price lining up in a small field.
Fierce Impact ($425k) has come in to favouritism in the Group 2 Hill Stakes with Verry Elleegant racing in Melbourne, again a bit on the pricey side for a G2 but is in a small field.
Enthaar ($100k) looks to be one of the best value options this week racing in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes.
Kalashnikov ($100k) another great value option in the Group 3 Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate.
All the best for week 1 everyone and would be interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on their strategy for the week, as well as captaincy and bench options.

Hey, Froff.
Never liked racing, not my thing – but just wanted to say thanks for putting your hand up and getting some content together. Sure those who are into racing will appreciate it.
Cheers and goodluck.
Joined, thanks froffers
Good article mate. You are spot on with your statement that Racing Supercoach is more about picking the right race rather than being a good horse racing tipster.
Love your work, froffers!!
Always good to get a difference of opinion. I look forward to covering the Carnival with you, mate 😉
