  1. Can’t seem to decide between the following two options:

    T/U Short (D5) and B. Smith (D3)
    T/D Rankine (F2) and Prior (D5).

Swapped Gawn for TDK so money has to come from somewhere. Cheers

    • TU- H. Garcia, Short, FOS/Lalor
      TD- Sanders, W. Ashcroft, Leake

Option 1 I feel like gives me more safety and cash gen but the sanders gamble and W. Ashcroft excites me more. Would love to hear your thoughts.

  6. MIDPRICE VS GnR . TU/TD the team you prefer please!

    TU: GnR

DEF: sheezel Zorko Clark NWM Prior Reid (Trainer Paton)
MID: Neale Serong LDU Oliver FOS O’Driscoll Tsatas L.Ashcroft (hewett camporeale boxshall)
    RUCK: Xerri TDK (Boyd)
FWD: JHF Rankine Macrae Daniel kako Davidson (Berry stone)

    FLEX: Knevitt BANK: 10k

    TD: Midprice Madness

DEF: sheezel Short Roberts Perryman Prior Reid (Trainer Paton)
MID: Neale Brayshaw Oliver Cerra Callaghan NOD Tsatas L.Ashcroft (knevitt camporeale hewett)
    RUCK: Xerri TDK (Boyd)
FWD: JHF Rankine Macrae Daniel SPP Davidson (Kako stone)

    FLEX: Flynn BANK: $193,000

I feel it’s relatively safe to start the big guns with high priced rooks who have the rock solid JS. We can watch the Callaghans cerras Roberts shorts etc for a fortnight and boost into the ones we know look genuine. Rather than trade out of the ones who fail if we start to midprce heavy.. would love a TU/TD on the team of your choice and some discussion

    • Just blows me away that I have not seen one “expert” on YT or X go the GnR route which makes me think its not viable… can 5 elevated priced rookies not make the 150k is that asking too much? Will missing 1 or 2 midpriced players that pop off early hurt to much?

  9. Oof not sure if I feel too confident going into R1, but let’s see.

DEF: Sheezel, Holmes, Roberts, Perryman, Paton, Reid [El-Hawli, Leake]
Feel very good about Sheez and Roberts. Open to shifting Holmes to NWM and Perryman down to allow other moves. Thoughts?

MID: Neale, Serong, LDU, Oliver, Callaghan, Allan, Tsatas, L.Ashcroft [Knevitt, Erasmus, Hall]
I’ve tried to get Day or Dawson in there, but would be at the expense of Neale only. This feels like a lot of rookie $ too…

    RUC: Gawn, Flynn [Boyd]

FWD: JHF, Rankine, Macrae, Sanders, Daniel, Kako [Stone, Davidson]
Have toyed with Rankine down to Shai or Baz

    FLEX: O’Driscoll
    Hmm

  11. It’s Christmas…. The day we have all been waiting for! This is what the team is looking like at the moment, please let me know your thoughts and advice. Thanks

DEF: Sheezel, Stewart, Roberts, Perryman, Prior, Reid (Allan**, Trainor)

MID: Brayshaw, Rozee, Oliver, Cerra, Ashcroft, NOD, Tstatas, Ashcroft (Knevitt, Hewett, Boxshall)

    RUCK: Xerri, TDK (Boyd)

FWD: JHF, Rankine, Macrae, Smith, Daniel, Davidson (Paton, Stone)

**I understand Allan is ill this week, but i think he’ll play soon so i can use him as loophole for the time being. I also just don’t trust Leakes JS as he played 55% of game with a difficult role (a few players still to come back into the GWS lineup).

Weighing up Sanders V Flynn in the flex spot. Flynn will leave me the money to upgrade one of my mid price defenders to a premo in the 550k bracket. Thoughts appreciated please!!

  13. Very torn on this one guys.

    Short V Perryman;

Short avoids the early bye but has never averaged 100. Perryman has the role and is more likely to be somewhat a keeper in my opinion. Both share the same mid season bye so can be flicked to another premium if need be who has come off their bye.

Who is the better starting pick:

    Tu: Short
    Td: Perryman +25k

    • Short will benefit with no Rioli this year. he will get most of the kickouts (and there will be plenty of them), i think Short can get to 100 this year.

Perryman clearly has a midfield roll at Collingwood, although it might be effected when DeGoey comes back, but i don’t think by much as a think Pendlebury will have less time in the guts (he got beaten badly by Callaghan last week and didn’t have the speed to be there full time). I can see perryman also averaging 100 this year.

The only thing splitting them for me (i can’t fit both in) is the early draw suites Short more, plus no bye.

Pies have a few tough games to start: Port, Dogs, BYE, Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane.

  14. Most indecisive year yet, the trend of speculative midpricers (Cerra, Callaghan, Day, Freijah ETC) really goes against my GnR mentality of getting in those solid long term keepers. Don’t really trust them but don’t want to miss the boat, so will do early trades if need be.

DEF- Sheezel, Clark, Roberts, Perryman, Paton, Leake (Trainor, Reid)

MID- Neale, Serong, Merrett, Petracca, Oliver, FOS, Tsatas, LAshcroft (Knevitt, Boxshall, Camporale)

    RUCK- Xerri, TDK (Boyd)

FWD- JHF, Macrae, Smith, Daniel, Kako, Davidson (Hall, Stone)

    FLEX- NOD

Feels very cookie cutter and not too many pods as I would’ve liked, but feels safe. Obviously rookie selections tonight may cause some changes, but I think this is what I’m settling on.

  15. So much anxiety but fingers crossed this is okay, let me know what you think!

129k spare to make changes if some rookies/mid pricers aren’t worth it.

    DEF – Sheezal – Holmes – Short – Roberts – Perryman – Leake (Prior – Trainor)

    MID – Serong – Petracca – Oliver – Powell – NOD – FOS – Tsatas – Knevitt (L.Ashcroft – Kako – L.Camporeale)

RUCK – Xerri – TDK (Boyd)

    FWD – Horne Francis – Macrae – Smith – Daniel – Garcia – Davidson (Paton – Stone)

    Flex – Flynn

Fwd: JHF Rankine Macrae Daniel SPP Davidson (Kako Stone)

Like $5k bank. Some of you don’t see the vision with the flex. Our grandfathers used to dream of fielding three premium rucks.

    • The three ruck strategy takes some big balls – can’t take advantage of any price drops among the Gawns/Xerris if you have both.

At the same time, I don’t see any weakness in the rest of the team. Not sure Dunkley has upside, but everyone else is great.

    $8.4k ITB

    – It’s a pretty stock standard sort of team with the only players I’m currently not 100% sold on are Short, Smith and Garcia but will leave them in for now unless I can find a way to upgrade short to a 500k+ premo or Smith to Rankine. Would love some thoughts on the team!
