Rookie Reserves Review – Round 15

The byes are over with all teams back next week. Round 16 selection will give us a great indication of which rookies are the real deal as teams in the hunt finalize their best 22’s.

Lorenz 105 (77/9) – has been in good form. Had 21 touches, 7 clearances, 5 tackles and 2 goals

Tunstill 88 (103/10) – another good game with 27 touches and 10 clearances

Prior 52 (96/10) – quiet day here but still having a great year

Smith 123 (93/9) – keeps on pushing with 23 touches, 6 marks, 6 clearances and 36 hitouts

CARLTON

Wilson 62 (70/10) – injured his knee after having 14 touches

Binns 93 (102/10)– bounced back with 25 touches and 4 tackles

Carroll 73 (94/4) – returned to the VFL and had 24 touches and 5 clearances, an option if he can get a full game

COLLINGWOOD

Roberts 73 (70/10) – the most likely rookie from the Bombers, 20 touches and 4 marks

GOLD COAST

Tsitas 56 (100/10) – quiet day for Tsitas and he doesn’t appear to be in the plans going forward

Moyle 106 (107/6) – returned to the VFL and did his thing, 37 hitouts and 8 clearances

Read 99 (83/6) – kicked 5 goals in his best game this year

GEELONG

Clohesy 92 (105/11)– 21 touches and 8 tackles as he continues his good form

Hardie 85 (106/10) – returned to the side 2ith 23 touches and 7 marks

Conway 100 (100/4) – came back to the VFL nicely with 20 touches, 8 clearances and 38 hitouts

Mannagh 54 (80/7) – kicked 2 goals from 13 touches

GWS

Rowston 65 (93/11) – 21 touches and 6 clearances

Stone 76 (77/9) – 6 marks and 19 touches but no goals again this week

Wehr 47 (79/3) – had a quiet day with 14 touches

Cadman 92 (92/1) – played his 1st game in the VFL this year and did really well. Kicked 2.3 from 18 touches and 6 marks

Jones 89 (77/4) – returned from a hammy injury nicely with 2.5 from 15 touches and 6 tackles

HAWTHORN

Moniz-Wakefield 115 (95/11) – another excellent game with 35 touches and 4 marks

Woewodin 27 (55/4) – quiet day doesn’t help his case with 9 touches

Laurie 68 (97/7) – decent game although his fantasy score doesn’t show. 19 touches, 5 tackles, 6 clearances and a goal

NORTH MELBOURNE

Lazzaro 116 (111/5) – another 31 touches this week as well as 8 clearances and 6 marks

Duursma 65 (75/3) – 14 touches with 5 marks and 5 tackles

Hardeman 94 (71/8) – great game here with 21 touches and 9 marks but will struggle to squeeze into the side

McKercher 108 (108/1) – 1st game back from injury and he dominated with 31 touches and 8 marks all possibly on limited minutes

Simpson 64 (61/8) – 13 touches with 8 tackles, might play this year but would only be a short-term cover

  1. Read elsewhere that Lawson Humphries (Geelong D/M $117.3) is viewed as someone who may get games. Looking for a cheap D/M. Any other intel on him?

    1. He’s been pretty good this season averaging 84 Fantasy, 22 touches and 5 marks a game. He had 16 touches and 4 tackles on the weekend.

      With Geelong it’s hard to see him getting a decent run, I’d say it will be exactly like O’Sullivan where he has come in to play 1 game, played decent enough but was straight back out.
