Richmond (11.15.81) defeated Carlton (9.12.66)
1. Sam Docherty (128). Started fairly slow but smashed it out of the park to finish off with 31 touches (748 metres gained, team high) to pair with 11 marks across the half-back line.
2. Adam Saad (122). Outstanding season thus far and an outstanding game on Thursday night as Saad had 25 touches that ran at a very good 80% DE in wet conditions.
3. Nick Vlastuin (120). Used the ball extremely well with 91% DE with 24 touches across half-back to return to the triple figure scores for the first time since round 7.
4. Sam Walsh/Nathan Broad (109). Rough score last week for Walsh but he didn’t stay down for long as he returned to the triple figure scores thanks to 34 touches and over 500 metres gained, while Broad scored his first ton since round 6 from 22 touches at 86% with no clangers.
5. Toby Nankervis (107). Just won the hitout battle against De Koning (26-24) but found 14 touches (13 contested) around the ground to push his average to 99.
Other 100+ scores: George Hewett (103), Liam Baker (100)
Disappointment: Skipper Patrick Cripps (79) had 10 recorded clangers from his 34 touches which really held him back, while Charlie Curnow (36) has had a ripping season but this was an equal season low in wet conditions
Rookies: Juddson Clarke (45) once again played well enough in his second game with 10 touches, which put him above other rookies Gibcus (41) and the subbed on Maurice Rioli (25). The Blues had Corey Durdin (37) and Jordan Boyd (93), who had a really impressive game with 16 touches and 5 tackles at half back.
Injuries: Mid season pickup Sam Durdin was sitting on the bench to finish the game on Thursday night with a knee injury that will see him out for a month. He was joined there by Jack Martin who had a lower leg injury, as well as Noah Balta who tweaked his hamstring.
St Kilda (11.6.72) defeated by Essendon (15.17.107)
1. Mason Redman (144). Fourth ton of the year for Redman but this was a career high score from a career best 31 touches and 11 marks. Ran at 93% DE from those 31 touches.
2. Jade Gresham (125). Super game from Gresham who kicked a team best 3 goals from 28 touches of the ball. Also gained 524 metres and had 12 contested touches plus 4 tackles.
3. Nick Hind/Peter Wright (115). Hind scored his fourth ton of the year from a team best 571 metres from his 25 touches off half-back, while Peter Wright had 4 goals from 14 touches and 8 marks for his third ton of the year.
4. Jye Caldwell (114). Another guy who had a career best score in this game was Caldwell, who has had a very consistent year after starting at 266K, only dropping below 70 once. Had a career best 23 touches and 5 clearances here, plus 7 tackles and 12 contested touches.
5. Archie Perkins (109). Rounding out the top five is Perkins who also set a career benchmark with this 109 point effort that came from 19 touches and 1 goal with no clangers.
Other 100+ scores: Jack Sinclair (105), Dylan Shiel (103), Seb Ross (100)
Disappointment: Only the second score under 96 for the year from Brad Crouch (80) here, while Jordan Ridley (64) actually had a very good game on Max King, but did give away 4 free kicks and had 7 clangers.
Rookies: Just Wanganeen-Milera for the Saints who found his way back into the team and had 15 touches for 56 points. If you had to run with Nic Martin (58) and Ben Hobbs (68), they had 18 and 22 touches respectively. There was a lot of talk about debutant D’Ambrosio from the mid-season draft and he played really well with 15 touches at 80% DE off half-back to score 51 points on debut.
Injuries: No injuries, or at least nothing obvious from this game, but there may be something that comes to light later in the week so keep an eye out for any news.
Port Adelaide (12.10.82) defeated Sydney (8.11.59)
1. Callum Mills (138). A VC worthy score from Mills who found a team best 27 touches which also led to a team-best 573 metres gained in this game. Snagged 1 goal, took 6 marks and also completed 5 tackles.
2. Luke Parker (135). Had a super slow start but finished with his third best score of the season from 26 touches (14 contested), 5 tackles and 10 clearances.
3. Isaac Heeney/Todd Marshall (124). Both of these guys snagged 4 goals each for the game, as well as having 8 marks and 3 tackles, but Heeney edged out Marshall in the disposal category 16-14.
4. Jeremy Finlayson/Ollie Wines (122). Second best score of the year from Finlayson who spent plenty of time in the ruck to finish up with 16 touches, 4 tackles and 14 hitouts, while Wines had 34 touches (14 contested) with 10 clearances and 499 metres gained.
5. Riley Bonner (118). Second ton of the year from Bonner who used his 27 touches at a very good 85% DE while also taking 9 marks, gaining 513 metres and kicking 1 goal.
Other 100+ scores: Sam Reid (107), Connor Rozee/Karl Amon (103), Charlie Dixon (102), Ryan Burton (101)
Disappointment: He’s had a great year thus far but only 15 touches and 76 points for Dan Houston in this one. Jake Lloyd (49) had his worst score since round 10, 2017, where he scored 4 from 1 handball so I’m fairly sure he was injured there. If that’s the case, go back to round 20, 2015.
Rookies: Minimal to cover here with only McCartin (59) and the returning Mead (71), who is still in 3.5% of teams, being the potential bench players in this game.
Injuries: Carnage on Saturday afternoon for tens of thousands of coaches with Zak Butters going down with a nasty looking knee injury early in the second (he was flying prior to that, on 68 from 9 touches and 1 goal). To add to the pain, just minutes later, first gamer Brynn Teakle was in a sling with a broken collarbone.
West Coast (9.9.63) defeated by Geelong (12.9.81)
1. Jack Redden (124). Four tons in a row now for Redden who is no stranger to decent Supercoach scoring. Had 24 touches (14 contested) with 6 clearances, 6 marks and 7 tackles to lead this games scoring.
2. Zach Tuohy (118). Having a career best year in season 12, averaging 92 with this being his sixth score in triple figures. Had 21 touches and 9 marks while running at 85% DE.
3. Cam Guthrie (115). Is looking the goods as a budget M8, also producing his fourth ton in a row this weekend from 25 touches, 6 marks and 13 tackles.
4. Tom Barrass (114). Third ton for Barrass who did his usual thing of intercepting the ball and using it well, this week having 10 marks, 18 touches and no clangers.
5. Shannon Hurn (109). Fifth ton of the season for Hurn, who, like Barass, used the ball really well and intercepted to boost his score. Had 20 touches at 90% DE with 11 marks this week.
Other 100+ scores: Tom Atkins (103), Mark Blicavs (101)
Disappointment: Rough to get the disappointment score with a 95 but Stewart gets it here for not hitting the ton as he was expected to do against the Eagles, plus the fact he only had 26 at half-time.
Rookies: De Koning has been moved on from plenty of teams now and most would be thankful they didn’t have to deal with his 48 this weekend. Cooper Stephens (59) played well through the middle to find 17 touches and lay 5 tackles in just 61% game time, while for the Eagles it was Hough (69), Jamieson (45) and the subbed on Clark (44). There was also the first-gamer in Rhett Bazzo (40) who took 6 marks and had 7 disposals in a defensive role.
Injuries: A heavy knock to the ribs of McGovern saw him finish on the pine.
GWS (16.9.105) defeated by Western Bulldogs (19.11.125)
1. Toby Greene (156). Kicked a career high seven goals in Saturday night’s shootout, which he paired with 21 touches, 6 marks, 10 contested touches, 85% DE, no clangers and a team best 622 metres gained.
2. Jack Macrae (155). After dropping three low-tons in a row Macrae had a stellar game on Saturday night, recording 37 touches with 9 tackles, 1 goal and a team best 577 metres gained for a great VC/C score.
3. Marcus Bontempelli (120). Solid game from Bont who found 28 touches (12 contested) with 7 clearances, 4 tackles, 512 metres gained and 1 goal for the game.
4. Josh Dunkley (114). Was a touch handball happy with 22 of his 27 touches being by hand, but also had 8 tackles, 15 contested touches and 1 goal for his tenth ton of the year.
5. Stephen Coniglio (113). Rounded out the top five and kept his good run going with 32 touches (14 contested) plus 2 goals in a predominantly midfield role.
Other 100+ scores: Tim English (110), Caleb Daniel (105), Aaron Naughton (104), Tom Green/Tom Liberatore (102), Lachie Whitfield (101), Cody Weightman (100)
Disappointment: Couple of rough scores from some usually premium scoring Giants in Kelly (65) and Cumming (45).
Rookies: Solid effort from Wehr on Saturday night who returned a score of 65 from 14 touches, 4 marks and 4 tackles while running at 92% DE, he should keep his spot on the back of performances like these. First gamer Angwin though only had 3 touches in 46% game time (was on the bench with an injury at one point) for a score of 13, while for the Bulldogs it was McComb (53) and West (80) who had an impressive performance with 14 touches and 2 goals.
Injuries: To add further pain to Supercoaches this weekend, Pruess, who many held, was subbed out super early with an ankle injury, while he was later joined by Peatling on the bench who has been impressive since returning to the senior team. Tough luck for Dogs defender Duryea who went down with a knee injury.
Gold Coast (18.8.116) defeated Adelaide (10.13.73)
1. Jordan Dawson (140). Just plonked himself in the backline all afternoon and ultimately found 32 touches of the ball which gained a team best 716 metres. Also had 6 marks and 1 goal.
2. Matt Rowell (123). Has found some decent form over his past few games, this score coming courtesy of 19 touches (12 contested) plus 7 clearances and 11 tackles.
3. Rory Laird (114). Almost tied his career best of 43 touches but ultimately fell one short with just the 42 this weekend, with 30 handballs within that. Also had 6 tackles.
4. Sam Berry (105). Has made over 100K now this season with some fairly consistent scoring, but this was a career high thanks to 25 touches (14 contested), 7 tackles and 12 clearances).
5. Ben Ainsworth (104). Could’ve had a much bigger score if he converted his shots but ended up finishing with 3.2 from 20 touches and 4 marks playing his usual, high half-forward role.
Other 100+ scores: Izak Rankine (101), Touk Miller (100)
Disappointment: Rough end to the round for those that brought in Witts for Gawn as he produced a season low 68, while the same being said for Ben Keays, who had 7 clangers and ran at 51% from his 27 touches.
Rookies: A couple of the Crows midfield rookies continue to play really well and produce solid scores, with both Soligo (88) and Hately (81) providing some solid cash generation through the byes. Soligo had 20 touches and 5 marks while Hately found 25 touches and had 4 tackles for the game. Parnell (70) was also impressive and presents as a good downgrade target, while if you held Rachele, his score of 40 hopefully wouldn’t have been in your best 18. Davies (40) could fall into the same category as Rachele, with forward Jeffrey rounding out the scores with a 65 from 9 touches and 1 goal.
Injuries: Injuries galore in this game as well with Thilthorpe suffering a lower leg injury for the Crows, while the Suns lost two in quick succession with Budarick suffering a hamstring injury just before Will Powell had a nasty looking leg injury. Fingers crossed a speedy recovery occurs for all! (As well as those injured throughout this round)

The injury to Duryea may open the door for CLeary
Yes – I was thinking that 🙂
But wasn’t he out with H & S regulations on the weekend (or maybe just crook)?
So Cleary may not come straight back in?
Some decent backline rooks may all be (finally) coming at the same time – with Parnell, Cleary and D’Ambrosio all looking pretty good.
