I’m a bit surprised that the AFL scheduled the Carlton versus Collingwood & the St Kilda versus Sydney games on the Sunday.
They generally like to give all teams playing finals as many days between games as possible – so on that basis I would have thought that Nth vs Gold Coast game @ Marvel was a certainty for the Sunday (as neither team will play finals).
And they probably could have also scheduled the SA Derby on the Sunday – as both Adelaide teams will probably also not play finals this year?
The Sunday will now be huge for SC league grand finals – with a heap of “SC relevant” teams like WB, Collingwood, Carlton & Sydney all playing on the Sunday.
Might have to tell the Under 15’s junior footy team that I coach that unfortunately I can’t coach them that Sunday due to Supercoach commitments 🙂 🙂
I think the AFL still have the pre finals bye, so teams get the extra week off before finals to even out the advantage/disadvantage of playing on the Friday or Sunday in round 23.
Gold Coast are still a chance, albeit an almighty slim one! Would love to see them make it – but you have a point Brett, strange fixturing
