Brisbane (7.11.53) defeated by Collingwood (16.9.105)

  1. Nick Daicos (172). As a non owner, this sucked to watch. Brisbane just let him win the game for the Pies with 38 touches, 6 marks, 1 goal and 645 metres gained.
  2. Josh Daicos (119). The other Daicos was just as damaging with 30 disposals off half-back, 1 goal, 5 marks and 599 metres gained.
  3. Lachie Neale (113). The best of the Lions in a poor loss. 25 touches, 11 contested and 4 clearances.
  4. Noah Answerth (109). 13 disposals and 7 marks but importantly 100% DE for Answerth.
  5. Ned Long (96). Becoming a serious player for the Pies. 21 touches, 6 marks, 6 tackles and 1 goal.

Other 100+ scores: Zilch

Disappointment: Zorko (70) again was just so grim to watch, consistently trying to do too much. Dunkley (83) and Will Ashcroft (43) in the same boat.

Rookies: Marshall (12) made a debut as the sub here for the Lions, coming on late, while it was the first game of the season for Tunstill (88) as a 119K F/M. Ashcroft solid again with 89. Long has had his time so it’s just Allan (11) who was also the sub.

Injuries: Clean cards here, Moore and Ah Chee the subs.

North Melbourne (11.5.71) defeated by Carlton (24.9.151)

  1. George Hewett (171). Dominated again through the middle, finding 34 touches (21 contested) plus 82% DE, 1 goal, 9 tackles and 12 clearances.
  2. Tristan Xerri (144). Hamstring awareness was out to bed as Xerri put in work, finding 14 touches (13 contested) with 11 tackles and 43 hitouts.
  3. Adam Cerra (110). Solid again in a bruise free role, Cerra found 28 touches with 1 goal, 5 clearances and 555 metres gained.
  4. Sam Walsh (107). 22 disposals for Walsh through the middle, adding 6 tackles and 5 inside 50s.
  5. Charlie Curnow (105). Seven shots on goal for Charlie, ultimately finding 4 goals from his 15 touches to round out the top five.

Other 100+ scores: Tom De Koning (100)

Disappointment: Sheezel (86) just junked it up late.

Rookies: Nothing good for North with O’Sullivan (28) coming in ahead of Konstanty (27) and Duursma (25). The Blues however had Motlop (91) ahead of White (79) and second gamer Carroll (64).

Injuries: Elijah Hollands the tactical sub for the Blues, while Fisher is listed here with a hamstring injury.

West Coast (11.9.75) defeated by Essendon (11.11.77)

  1. Nic Martin/Peter Wright (145). Martin ran and ran and ran all over the place but was important late, slotting 1 goal from 26 touches plus 12 marks. Wright was the difference with 6 goals on return from 17 touches and 7 marks.
  2. Matt Flynn (141). Probably a popular pick up this week as he actually produced as a number 1 ruck. 19 touches plus 447 metres gained and 28 hitouts.
  3. Jeremy McGovern/Dylan Shiel (111). McGovern did what he does when he’s on the park, intercepted and found 7 marks plus 21 touches. Shiel was solid across halfback too with 23 touches, 7 tackles and 1 goal.
  4. Jack Williams (109). Did his part for the Eagles, finding 15 touches, 5 marks, 3 goals and 9 hitouts.
  5. Zach Merrett (106). Rounds out this games top five thanks to 26 touches (15 contested) and 7 clearances.

Other 100+ scores: Sam Draper (105), Jake Waterman (103)

Disappointment: Hutchinson (48) hasn’t worked out as a mid price option.

Rookies: Prior this week the best of the Essendon rookie crop, his 92 was well ahead of Kako (55), Reid (38), Menzie (30) and the sub El-Hawli (4). The Eagles had Hewett (97) ahead of Reid (71), David (37), Dewar (31) and the subbed on Gross (11).

Injuries: Draper (Achilles) is now also gone for the year, while Duursma had a rib concern. Gresham was the intial sub for the Bombers. Dewar the tactical for West Coast.

Melbourne (16.11.107) defeated Fremantle (14.13.97)

  1. Kysaiah Pickett (134). Super game from Picket to get the Demons over the line. 5 goals, 24 touches and plenty of moments of individual brilliance.
  2. Andrew Brayshaw (120). Kept his hot form going with 33 touches (17 contested) plus 8 clearances and 1 goal.
  3. Max Gawn/Jack Viney (117). Gawn was shocking early but rallied to finish with 28 touches (18 contested), 7 marks, 10 clearances and 31 hitouts. Viney did his part as per usual with 25 disposals, 8 tackles and 1 goal.
  4. Jake Bowey (116). Constructive across halfback with 649 metres gained from his 29 touches that went at 90% DE.
  5. Shai Bolton (115). Probably his best game for the Dockers thus far. Bolton had 3 goals from 20 touches and 9 marks.

Other 100+ scores: Trent Rivers (110), Tom McDonald (106), Caleb Serong (102)

Disappointment: Gets thrown to Salem for his 83.

Rookies: Reid (82) continues to perform well while Worner (65) was solid again across half-back. McDonald (50) played his first for the year while Dudley (25) was once again sub. For Melbourne, Langford was great with 90, leading Spargo (70), Lindsay (55), Fullerton (32) and Sharp (25).

Injuries: Turner was subbed out due to concussion while O’Meara suffered a hamstring injury after Banfield was tactically subbed.

Adelaide (7.10.52) defeated GWS (4.10.34)

  1. Lachie Whitfield (145). Had some attention but dominated in this snoozefest of a game. 39 touches, 10 marks, 735 metres gained and 8 rebounds from 50.
  2. Connor Idun (138). Similar to Whitfield, just chipped it around all day. 26 touches, 96% DE and 9 marks.
  3. Sam Taylor (123). Another one. 20 touches, 11 marks and 95% DE with 8 spoils.
  4. Tom Green (117). Has been great since returning this year. 36 disposals this week with 19 contested and 7 clearances.
  5. Finn Callaghan (116). Finishes off an all Giants top five despite losing, weird. 27 touches, 7 marks, 522 metres gained.

Other 100+ scores: Jordan Dawson (113), Alex Neal-Bullen (112), Lachie Ash (108), Taylor Walker (100)

Disappointment: Briggs (27) was putrid.

Rookies: Just Stone (40) for GWS, Adelaide only with Curtin (42) and Draper (7).

Injuries: Fogarty (shoulder) is listed here, but the subs were Brown and Draper.

Richmond (12.8.80) defeated Gold Coast (9.15.69)

  1. Nick Vlastuin (165). Stopped nearly every Sun forward thrust, collecting 13 marks and having 27 touches (24 kicks) plus 661 metres gained.
  2. Tim Taranto (146). Super game from Timmy T through the middle. 35 disposals (18 contested) with 1 goal, 6 clearances and 6 tackles.
  3. Matt Rowell (130). The best for the Suns, Rowell had 29 touches with 7 clearances and 5 tackles.
  4. John Noble (116). 521 metres gained from his 27 touches across halfback-back. 10 marks as well plus 12 interceptions touches.
  5. Jarrod Witts (113). Rounds out this top five thanks to 12 disposals and 38 hitouts.

Other 100+ scores: Ben Long (111), Touk Miller (109), Will Powell (108), Noah Anderson (105), Jacob Hopper (101)

Disappointment: Humphrey (48) was horrific, while Flanders (47) is a ghost of his 2024 self.

Rookies: The Suns rookies only consisted of Walter (30) and Read (0). Richmond however had all of Lynch (72), Lalor (70), Green (54), Faull (53) and the subbed on Trainor (2), which stuff around many weekends.

Injuries: Looks like clean cards with talls Samson Ryan and Ethan Read being subbed out.

Sydney (10.17.77) defeated by Port Adelaide (13.7.85)

  1. Zak Butters (164). We’re all going to need this guy eventually. 27 touches (17 contested) plus 7 clearances and 8 tackles.
  2. Brodie Grundy (139). Best of the Swans as the big man found 26 touches (17 contested) plus 9 clearances and 32 hitouts.
  3. Matt Roberts (119). Heavily traded this week but was super with 30 touches, 11 interceptions touches and 598 metres gained.
  4. Kane Farrell (118). 26 touches for the strong left footer, his 11 marks and elite 809 metres gained did plenty to get Port the win away.
  5. James Rowbotton (109). Just did his usual in the middle. 23 touches, 6 clearances, 8 tackles and 1 goal.

Other 100+ scores: Dane Rampe (107), Hayden McLean/Sam Powell-Pepper (106), Nick Blakey (104), Connor Rozee (103)

Disappointment: Nothing horrid here so it’ll go to Sinn (40) who has failed as a mid priced pick.

Rookies: Powell-Pepper (106) was once again great for the Power, leading others like Cochrane (37), Lord (31) and Moraes (30). Bice was nice, 79 for him. Cleary (30) was a popular pick but struggled, while Hamling (48), Warner (21) and Hanily (16) weren’t much better.

Injuries: Wines had his heart issue pop up again but was subbed out as a precaution. Hanily the sub for Sydney.

Western Bulldogs (18.19.127) defeated St Kilda (8.8.56)

  1. Marcus Bontempelli (159). Pleasure to watch this bloke play again. 30 touches , 87% DE plus 2 goals and 8 clearances to be clinical in the Dogs win.
  2. Callum Wilkie (126). 22 touches with 12 marks for Wilkie which ran at 82% DE throughout the game.
  3. Matt Kennedy (125). Super pickup for the Bulldogs, Kennedy was once again super with 22 touches, 2 goals, 5 marks, 6 tackles and 10 clearances.
  4. Joel Freijah (124). Kicked a goal early which just boosted his score across the game. 24 touches, 2 goals and 88% DE.
  5. Bailey Williams/Ed Richards (119). 30 touches, 9 marks, 1 goal and 520 metres gained for Williams, while Richards was super, finding 23 disposals, 1 goal and 518 metres gained.

Other 100+ scores: Ryley Sanders (114), Tom Liberatore (112), Jack Macrae (104)

Disappointment: Sinclair (70) was well held as the Dogs dominated.

Rookies: Davidson (82) continues to score well running the wing, he led Cleary (69), Dolan (49) and second gamer Hynes (27). Just Hall (48) and Collard (24) for St Kilda.

Injuries: Sam Darcy escaped ACL damage but will miss a few months with a knee. Henry was the Saints sub.

Geelong (12.14.86) defeated Hawthorn (11.13.79)

  1. Karl Amon (152). Huge game from Karl to try and get the Hawks over the line, 29 touches @ 90% DE and over 800 metres gained.
  2. Jai Newcombe (134). Huge game from Newcombe, compiling 28 touches with 9 tackles through the middle.
  3. James Worpel (117). Worpel was great in his second game back. 22 touches and a huge 13 tackles.
  4. Lloyd Meek (112). Another ton for Meek against the duel Cats ruck setup. 19 touches and and 47 hitouts.
  5. Mark Blicavs (105). Bit of everything for Geelongs Swiss Army knife. 15 touches, 1 goal and 5 tackles to round out the top five.

Other 100+ scores: Sam Mannagh (102), Tom Atkins (101)

Disappointment: Smith (80) wasn’t at his best, even saw a couple of C’s on him.

Rookies: O’Sullivan (54) led the Cats who weren’t great overall, just 40 for Knevitt and 14 for Clohesy. No rookies for the Hawks.

Injuries: Breust was the sub for the Hawks but Moore is on the report with a head injury. Miers suffered a concussion from a big hit.
