Those of you who have played this in the past will already know how this works, but for anyone new around here:
For each category, you get 5 points for a correct prediction, 4 points if your prediction is only one place off, and so on, down to 1 point if your prediction is five places off, and 0 points if it’s any further off than that. So, for example, if the team you pick to come 17th does in fact come 17th, you’ll get 5 points. If they come 16th or 18th, you’ll get 4 points, if they come 15th then 3 points, etc. Note that the SuperCoach categories refer to the home-and-away season only.
Entering is easy. Just post your predictions in the comments below before the deadline. If you want to change your entry, you can do so anytime up until the deadline by replying to your original entry with the changes you wish to make.
The deadline for entries is the first bounce of the AFL season (Today, 7:25 PM AEDT).
At the end, the results will be tallied up, and the person with the most points wins.
I was hoping to put together the results of last year’s crystal ball, and use that as part of this introduction, but I didn’t have time this week, so I will have the results of last year’s competition and a summary of this year’s predictions for you next week.
Because there’s only a bit over ten hours between the announcement of this and entries closing, I’m using a shorter entry form this year, so you don’t have to expend too much brain power in too short a time:

OPTIONAL: Big, ridiculously bold call for the season ahead: – no points for this one; just a bit of fun.
Some of last year’s bold calls were quite prescient:
“Patrick Cripps won’t win Carlton Bnf” – RAFA
“GWS miss finals” –
“Crows to finish bottom 4” –
While others were a bit further off the mark:
“Gold Coast will not win a game” –
“Daniher kicks 8 to secure Bombers 17th flag !!” –
“Brisbane to miss finals” –
Luckily, Nateo’s nightmare scenario didn’t eventuate:
“No 2020 Grand Final”
Will any of our predictions this year be that dramatic? Best of luck either way, and once again don’t forget that entries close Today at 7:25 PM AEDT!
