SCTTL – Review

Written by JimmyDee on April 10 2022

Firstly, apologies to all the dedicated Techies out there as I have been laid up for a couple of weeks and have not put in the weekly reports. Going to catch it all up here as we cover rounds two, three and four. It’s nice to be back with the mob!

Round 2 champ was TL Hazza’s Heroes who swooped on Neale and put the “C” on for 2217. Great move Harrison. Noone else got near with Gumbies the closest at 2081, followed by PhantomHood Tech, Techiewannabee, Lost Lands and Abel’s Axes all in the 2070s.

Round 3 scores didn’t reach the heights of round 2 with Romo Tech topping out at 2069. A group of six with scores above 2000 followed having scores ranging from 2066 down to 2004. These were All Nuns, Lucy@Tech, Ninius, BogEyesRalph, DR’s Tech Team and Goopstars.

Round 4 would probably see ol’ mate Macca happy with his wife topping the group with 2234. Some heavy duty trading helped with 6/8 new recruits tonning up and English unlucky not to. Gumbies right in it again with 2212, BogEyesRalph 2181, My lovely wife’s Fixed Interest with 2149, and the unlucky Abel’s Axes who she nudged out by nine points in our H2H match.

Trading has been rampant, with not many of the original squad members surviving Meh scores or injuries. What’s the stategy ? Have we grabbed enough premos and will look to sit for a while and chill. Or is it to keep on gunning and take advantage of those extra trades this season. Let us know you plans in the comments section below.

  1. Thanks for the write up and efforts James and hoping that you are on the mend!

The Wanabees have been working hard to position the side into as strong a position as it can, but it will have to give that TRade button a rest soon …. “but it is sooooo nice to use …” (I think that is Father’s imaginary voice in his head)

Got lucky this round in some sense by not quite having enough to get Cripps in last week. Rucks have been a bit of a nightmare and looks like it will continue with Preuss now set to cop a weeks ban …

Side is otherwise nicely positioned I think and just need to make to the right calls on rookies on field!

Thanks for running this great comp again … it is my favourite part of SC I think and in part keeps me playing

    Good luck all!

  3. Eight trades in three rounds is obviously a record. Most haven’t paid off until this round.

Cogs last week and Witts and Heeney (VC) this week are the ones with best returns. Busted trades in so far are Rowell, Butters, Cherry and to a lesser extent, English. But hey, it’s a long game right, even without trades.

    1. Witts was a good pick up … even if he was ripped off by CD scoring two weeks ago – bounced back nicely for you on the weekend! I wanted him, but didn’t have the coin and settled for Preuss a week early …. hmmmm

  4. JD, you do so much for this comp, and I hope you’re doing well.
This is my first swing at it, but I’m loving the challenge even if the trades are disappearing rapidly

  5. My C on Cripps was painful, knocked me a ways back. Very hard trading Rounds 1-3, will see if slowing down can happen at least for a while.

  6. Jesus SC Christ! What a disaster this starting squad has been – who bloody picked these injured hacks?
