Following a record number of entries last season, the Tech League is back and looking to grow.
A quick explanation for anyone who has not played in the Tech League previously, follows.
The basic premise is that we all start with the exact same team, provided by email in the lead up to round one. You can alter your captain’s choice, your flex or your bench emergencies to your liking but they must come from the original 31 team members supplied. There is no trading allowed until round two, where you can go your hardest. The aim from there is to be the team with the highest total points for the season. Last year’s winner scraped to victory by one solitary point, in sign of the competitiveness of the competition.
To provide a semblance of the unique, the Tech Team each year has a theme whereby all players (except rookies) must be confined within a category. This year we are going with the “Bad Boys of Football”, so in order to get a Guernsey in our Tech Team you have to have been suspended at some stage in your career.
To be a Techie you ideally should have a separate email address to your Classic team, with a different name (wife, brother, dog etc). This reduces the risk of negating any prizes you may win by contravening the rules of SuperCoach that state that you are only allowed one team per person.
For all the Tech regulars in SCT land, you should be pretty familiar with the drill, so feel free to form a second side and enter it directly into the SCT Tech Group using code 695906. Once the team is announced, you can then swap it in. For anyone new wishing to try out, or needing more information, please email me jimmydee at supercoachtalk dot com and I’ll reply to all queries and entry requests. Please do this ASAP to help with my admin. Cheers.
I will be emailing all past participants directly to gauge your acceptance or otherwise for another year of competition. Please respond promptly so I have no hiccups leading into the season. Thanks.
Looking forward to a ripper year and good luck to everyone in both the Tech and Classic leagues.
