  1. Debutants –

    West Coast Eagles:

    Zane Trew: MID $102,400. 19. 187cm 80kg. *Extended bench
A pure onballer with clean hands and excellent stoppage craft, Trew averaged 24.9 disposals, 12 contested possessions, 6.4 tackles and 5.4 clearances in seven appearances for Swans’ Colts line-up in 2020.

Luke Edwards (replacing Oscar Allen) MID $117,300.
The son of former Adelaide champion Tyson Edwards, the strongly built youngster has been on the cusp of a senior start for a number of weeks, so impressive has he been for the WAFL Eagles.

Fremantle :Joel Western MID $117,300. 18,174cm. * Extended bench.
won Claremont’s Most Consistent Award in 2020. Western was also a major contributor in Claremont’s premiership-winning season in 2019; he recorded 23 disposals, 15 contested possessions, four clearances and six tackles in the grand final. Having played primarily as a midfielder over the last two years, Western is equally effective as a small forward where he can utilise his lightning speed, clean hands, defensive pressure and goal sense. The 18-year-old didn’t test at the 2020 WA Combine, but his 2.73 seconds 20m time in February 2019 would be quicker than the all-time national combine record, set in 2010.

Richmond : Samson Ryan *Emergency ($117k RUCK) “We’ve got a couple of options. We’re really excited by a young tall, Samson Ryan, that will maybe get an opportunity. We’ll work our way through that.” Damien Hardwick

    ** Rookie News –
Alec Waterman – “He’s got to keep playing well, like all our players. He’s been great since he came over. Will Snelling won’t play for us this week so it’ll provide another opportunity…”Ben Rutten

  3. Thinking of kozchie > Mills. Second and third trades:

    Tu;
    Jordon > Walsh
    Flynn > Reeves
    (Fielding 16)

    Td;
    Highmore > Bianco
    Flynn > CCJ
    (Fielding an extra player, 17)

    17
  4. Madden another example of not going before player is on the bubble and selected…Frederick ??? Bianco ??

  5. So much for thinking I had 19 warm bodies – no Madden, McNeil & Highmore is going to hurt…

    19

    1. All week I’ve been counting how many I had for R12 under the assumption that Highmore would be dropped.

Saints don’t seen to value developing him properly and unwilling to swing the axe on other half backs.

  6. Grundy
    Madden
    McCreery
    Berry
    Highmore
    McNeil

Few names that could hurt a few coaches trying to field 18 this week!

    13

  7. Kosi to Bianco and I managed to field 19

    13-6 premo rookie split.

    I was expecting 20+

These Byes may get very tough .

    1. Yep, I’m staring down 19 as well.

Had a two week trade plan that included Butts -> Whitfield this week. Might have to re-think that otherwise I’ll just have a flat 18 and have to eat every score.

      Butts BE 98 though, argh.

      3

      0
      1. I’m going Whitfield this week.

CJ and Kosi to Bianco and Whitfield.

Next week- Flynn . RCD / Berry to Reeves and Hall.

I will still have a trade for whatever may happen.

Hopefully Newcombe gets a game 102k rookie would be sweet!

        5

        1. Hey FT!
Query Why your choosing Whitfield there are many other options?
          Who is your defence now?
I’m interested as I’m choosing my last spot now/soon.
          Lloyd/crisp I don’t have

          2

        1. Hey Bomber.

          Whitfield works for my byes.

          After trades, my Defence is..

          Mills . Stewart . Whitfield . Short . Ridler . Jones .
          Highmore . Bianco
          Laird mid.

GWs have a great run of games ahead. Only the Dee’s may challenge them.

          North
          Carlton
          Hawks
          Melb*
          Suns.

I like Lloyd and Crisp but I just can’t fit them in atm.

I may look at one post Byes and leave Laird at M8.

It will just depend on price and other options.

          Scott to Bianco is solid.

I wouldn’t be going early on Whitfield usually.
I just have plans for next weeks trades. Reeves etc..

Best of luck with your planned trades, and good luck this weekend.

    1. No.
If they are Victorian based and heading interstate they need a covid 19 test and isolate 14 days depending where they are going.
It is a bit of stretch to imagine a rookie being drafted Wednesday and could play the weekend afterwards.

  8. Stuck in a dilemma. Can’t field 18 this round due to rookie carnage. Which is the better way to roll; (Going kozchie > Mills)

    Second & third trade/s:

    Tu;
    Flynn > Reeves
    Jordon > Walsh
    (Fielding 16 this round)

    Td;
    Highmore > Bianco
(Hold Flynn & Jordan, field 17 this round)

    0

    21
  9. Sucks. Went from 20 on the field to 17 with a swing of an axe.

Going McNeil > Bianco, can’t jeopardise the rest of my trade plan by going early on RCJ. Grundy going down has really been the kiss of death for poor old Jov this week.

  10. Tu;
    Flynn > Reeves
    Kozchie > Mills
    Jordon > Walsh
    (16 on field)

    Kozchie > Mills
    Highmore > Bianco
    (17 on field)

      1. Berry can not be the medical sub as he is not named as an emergency.
He was the medical sub last week and omitted this week.

  11. It’s actually mentally liberating not putting any planning into the byes any more. Previous years would have me lose my rag when careful planning & trading all turned to s#*t at the first hurdle. I am at peace with the carnage.

    17

  12. Fielding 17 this week, should I chop Flynn for CCJ to field 18? Or wait a week and possibly trade Flynn out next week?

Tu; go for it, CCJ has solid JS
Td; hold off a week and wait

    14

    4
    1. If you’re trading Flynn next week anyway, why not grab CCJ now and get the points? You can shift him forward and still get Reeves?

      8

      1. Logically thinking it is a smart trade to make. However, at 161k, is he safe in that Richmond side for the next month at least to make some cash gen?

  13. Put this up earlier but so torn between these trades. Thoughts appreciated

Tu; Flynn + Jordon > Walsh & Reeves
Td; Highmore > Bianco (Hold Flynn & jordon)

Second option leaves me an extra player on the ground this week.

  14. THE AFL is exploring bringing forward Richmond’s clash with West Coast by a week and delaying both clubs’ round 13 bye.
It would mean the Tigers and Eagles would have their bye in round 14, not round 13 as per current fixture.
This would allow Richmond to stay in Perth instead of flying home then back again to play WCE. The Eagles would have to agree to make the change as well given they have prepared for their bye to follow this week’s trip to Sydney to take on Carlton at the SCG on Sunday.

    **UPDATE
Likelihood is next Sunday, June 13th Optus Stadium?

If this eventuates common players that could be out now, include
    RCD, Dusty, Short, Bolton, CCJ.
What would supercoach do to compensate? All conjecture at the moment.

    3.07
** From Supercoach – “We have discussed a plan in the event the Richmond-West Coast game is shifted from Round 14 to 13.

As always, we will try to choose the option that is fairest for all SuperCoach teams.

Remember, we don’t change the fixture!”

    To be updated.
Richmond are keen but Eagles less so, as they want to keep bye as is, due to number of injuries they have.

    6.45

****In the event a R14 game is shifted to R13, changes to SuperCoach best 18 rule are unlikely. More trades and an increased trade limit will be considered. Final details & any rule changes will be communicated when R13 fixture is finalised.

    7.47.
AFL fixture for Round 13 likely out tomorrow. Think the Tigers game against the Eagles will be brought forward. Port aren’t sure if the Cats will be allowed to spend the night in Adelaide next Thursday. But they will have been in a bubble for weeks and are out of metro Melbourne.

    1. Hopefully they just make the points those teams get in RD 13 count for round 14. seems the easiest path to take.

Seems less carnage then extra trades

      2

      5
    2. I don’t support either of these teams but if this is the case then this just sums up the Eagles. Just haven’t embraced the any time, any place spirit required for these times. Why is the AFL giving them a say anyway? The current injury list of either team shouldn’t be a factor in this decision.
