###West Coast has been given an extension until 5.30pm AWST (8.30pm (AEDT) to amend its selected team for Sunday’s clash against North Melbourne after its list was further decimated by health and safety protocols.
North Melbourne will be updated at same time.
Stef Martin named as an emg. Gives us all one more really good look at English without Martin there and if named again as lone ruck week 3 will mean there is a hard decision to make!
“Bailey Smith comes out of the side with a hip injury.” Bulldogs update.
This *could* work out for Treloar owners!
please join my league…

It really bothers me they don’t count the sub as an IN the following week when selected.
I can’t remember that far back.
Try linking up to FanFooty, the stats normally stay til day before first game, then ask the SCT advisory community when you forget what your ingenious ideas were and why- just like I do…..LOL
WB : Last week’s sub: J.Ugle-Hagan (unused)
CARL : Last week’s sub: T.Williamson (unused)
I can include the previous weeks subs if people want them?
yes/no by thumbs.
Ok. The community has spoken.
I will include the previous weeks subs with team announcements.
Thanks for response.
CT.
Possibly an underrated feature, especially with fringe guns or rookies. Thanks, CT!
Essendon: Nic Martin to miss this week due to health and safety protocols.
Thanks for the update, CT.
That’s huge. One less field-able FWD for those who started him and were loving life last week and for those eyeing him off as a corrective trade missing this week lags out him hitting the bubble.
Interesting.
Hi GD,
A good reminder to be circumspect with our trades, as this season could become perilous very easily.
I wasn’t trading this week.
Just have to juggle my bench around as I now have no cover in the forward line ( Martin, Sam De Koning ).
Lol, last week I had no donuts to get my emergencies scores.
Funny game.
oh for Pete’s sake … this year is going to be one tediously long year and struggling for players on the park at times … despite the extra trades …
The only way the AFL are going to get through this I think is to go back into bubbles … whilst players are able to go out into the community … they run the risk of contracting the disease and also passing on to fellow team mates and also opposition …
CT – legend mate – cannot express enough how valuable your constant up to date info is … just don’t burn yourself out mate!
Cheers
looks like the year not to start loophole players due to covid outs ect haha
Agree, loopholes will end in tears at some stage this year
Did not expect Walsh in this early.. if hes looking injury free this week hes coming in to my team Round 3 see him doing a 120+ avg easily must have in my book
I was a bit surprised to see his name there as well – not sure bringing him in on one game is a great idea, even if he scores well as there are a lot of mids around that price, who you would have started with. Outside of that, it’s his 1st game, so you could wait until round 4 to bring him in – would give you an opportunity to see him for a couple games.
I agree with you Daniel Z.
Walsh was in my team until injured and I will wait, as you said, for round 4 to evaluate.
Remarkable recovery from an initial four week injury. It will be interesting to observe his TOG.
An upgrade target for me as reasonably happy with my mids at present.
Getting a sneaky leg up – have got the novel Dice Man from the local library
No Nic Martin this week probably moves me from two trades this week to none and a triple trade next week.
No nic Martin this week, our with covid protocols.
And now ABS reporting possibly no Dusty this week due to “personal reasons” – that’s going to hurt a lot of coaches. Waiting confirmation on this – those extra 5 trades are certainly going to be needed this season, if only to ensure bench cover.
One big one with the extra trades and also Covid. Any player out with Covid just misses a week and back fresh… Imo not worth a trade, try to have bench swaps/players.
As many have said- that bench donut might bite a few this year!
That’s why I rolled the dice and went with no loophole for the first supercoach time in over a decade.
This wks Dr Supercoach podcast suggested that Whitfield finished the game with a lower body injury. Also Hogan maybe selected b4 Pruess . Not both
…….and now put all that into a hat and draw out what you think will really happen……(IMO)
God I am not excited for the unexpected carnage with this weeks teams. Feels like it has been too quiet of a week on selection news and we cant have a round 2 without some carnage, the SC gods arent that forgiving!
Wow. Mead, Soligio and Owens all done. Looks like there wasn’t a wrong choice between the three of them.
Baldwin very stiff to be dropped. Assumed he had better JS than Martin. Evidently not lol. Easy fix when Martin’s back.
Big watch on Skinner and Sinn, both named.
More covid carnage at the Eagles.
Out: T.Barrass (HS Protocol), J.Redden (HS Protocol), Z.Langdon (HS Protocol), J.Kennedy (HS Protocol), I.Winder (HS Protocol)
Two top up players S.Giro and D.Mountford on extended bench (most likely emergencies.)
At Fremantle : David Mundy and Brennan Cox both in health and safety protocols
Yep, sweated over M11. Looks like Hough was the right choice after all… for now
Only reason I took him at M11 was the covid situation in WA.
It’s hard to find any positives out of what’s happening there right now.
Not good for footy. Or for people’s lives.
Does anyone in the West not have Covid
HIGHMORE IN !!!
Who??? LOL
Crisp named at HB and Pendles on ball – that’s worth another look with Crisp.
Luke Ryan however, on an extend bench after one week – probably fair he’s not in the starting side.
I would not read too much into Ryan being on extended bench.
Well probs gonna have to make a trade my bench has only 3 players playing and if naish from wce doesn’t play Sunday I’m risking a donut
Chapman doesn’t play I’ll have no def bench
Forward got no bench atm
Mid got MacDonald and Hayes on bench for ruck
Gotta figure something out
I assume the trade out is Baldwin since naish might play
Other suggestions welcomed
TU naish out
TD Baldwin out
I think I’m just going to hold and start praying that Chapman gets named.
Liam Shiels
His partner is due to give birth and Hawthorn play in Adelaide. He has obviously chosen to stay home just in case.
Is it worth trading Chapman instead of risking a donut? My bench cover down back is de koning and he is of with concussion.
……and to top it off N Long will probably get named sub….
Got Ryan in last week after Lloyd was out, traded him out this week for Hewett.
Wasn’t planning on any trade this week, despite a few lower scores from a few premos.
Had no cover on the bench, I didn’t really wanted to cop a donught.
It paid off tonight but I’m concerned I’ve already burnt a trade for a player which I’m not 100% sure he’ll end up being a keeper.
I had the funds to bring the Seagull back in but chased the dollar and early points..
First game in round two and I’m already reconsidering my supercoach life XD
Yet Hewett has two scores well above his PTA and Lloyd scored under his, and Ryan’s missed a game.
Right now you seem to be on the best of the 3 (on current form) for the lowest price at a cost of one trade.
If you think about that it’s a good trade.
Don’t plan on trading him out until he shows you need to and your head will be in a much better place.
Can someone explain the loophole thing – if i have PAs Hayes on field, who’s not named this week, as captain, and VC is on Macrae, i get Macraes score as captain plus my ruck emergency in Marshall will get counted?
cheers
Correct Red5.
Nicely played.
Good luck with the rest of your team
thanks CT 🙂
Great nickname Red5 😉
thanks man – star wars nerd from way back
Who’s got info on Luke Pedlar and Sam Skinner? I may need one or both to avoid a donut. I generally like to have a look at them before trading in which begs the question…Does the value of trade v Donut change with HS protocols?
TU Baldwin to Skinner
TD HOLD
Only if you have no cover to avoid a donut
Report from Adrian Barich via Twitter:
Expecting up to another 4 Eagles to come out of their team for Sunday under Covid protocols
Total 9 to be out
Some WAFL top up players may now debut against the Roos
Those poor bastards can’t take a trick!
Can’t believe Essendon named Ridley on the Bench. How do you watch that Geelong game and think he was the problem?
My no Rookie set and Forget defence has been a disaster.
Crisp… soggy. Ridley…. Middley, Lachie Shittfield + Mcinnerny and Chapman as duds.
Mcinnerny and Brodie out. Sinn and Degoey in.
It is irrelevant where a player is named in the Thursday team. The main point is that they are named.
Many coaches just throw their players around on the board regardless of their usual roles. Trying to confuse opposition coaches of their true intentions? Whatever reason? Some clubs do this weekly.
I would be surprised if Ridley starts on the bench. Does it really matter? He will play his usual role and minutes.
Don’t over analyse team selection positions too much. As Chris Scott has stated “they are only a guide”
Brodie should benefit by the 4-6 weeks absence of Fyfe.
GWS probably draw straws…..
Chapman score 80 priced at 275.2K. Not sure what you’re expecting of him but that’s a good score for what he’s priced and if he can have that as his floor type score he’ll be a handy earner down back.
As for Brodie, he scored 76 at 224.3K which is really good and sets him up for cash generation in the weeks ahead. As CT said, Fyfe’s continued absence has to be a positive for Brodie’s midfield minutes.
If you picked these guys in your round 1 team there’s no reason to be considering trading them based on their round 1 performance.
Hey RB – he may be worried in that Chapman got a 27 point boost for that last second fist … his score to then was looking much lower …
But agree with your comments / thoughts and Brodie should do better with Fyfe minutes down .. though they also managed his minutes …
Realistically though his floor without the fist of god was about 50.
At 50 he’s lineball losing money.
If you needed to trade, then he isn’t the worst choice.
The question here is want versus need.
You can’t have all of the best round 1 players, and even if you do you are probably chasing last weeks points.
Why trade Brodie? Coach talking him up and Fyfe out for multiple weeks.

Jackson Mead to be Port Adelaide’s medical sub.
“He was (unlucky). He’ll be in the 23. He’ll play as our sub. We like to make sure we keep them in the side as much as we can. Sometimes it’s a juggle.”

Eagles only looking to have 17-18 available AFL players this week, so will need many COVID top up players.
I bet Roo Bloke is pumped this week for his team to be likely to get a good win
No. Scared of what could happen if we lose!!!!
I am with you Roo Bloke. I am even more worried now – especially after last weeks performance.
Gold Coast Suns –
” Weller will miss our Round 2 game against Melbourne tomorrow night after entering the AFL Health and Safety Protocols. Rory Atkins comes into the side and Chris Burgess has been added to the emergency list.”
WOW – all of these last minute outs are starting to pile up … and we are only just starting round 2 … doesn’t bode well for the year ahead.
I think this is clearly reinforcing two things – so take note all:
1. your extra trades are for these COVID impacts and late outs … they are not there as a bonus this year … so don’t bank on them!! (though no doubt there are those amongst us that have a risk attitude and may burn them anyway and bank on even more being provided *wink*)
2. If you are trading, wherever possible, leave it until the very last minute to make that trade … just in case players are late outs!!
Good luck all!
Probably a prudent spot to remind people of the new trading rules that haven’t been discussed much.
UNDO TRADES & THE ALL-NEW TRADE UPDATE
* Trade Update is your new and unique approach to updating and managing your trades right through and during each round. While you can continue to reverse all changes throughout the week and right up to the first match of the round, you now have all the flexibility to update trades right through the rolling lockout. Here’s how it works:
* If, for example, you completed a trade on the Friday evening and traded in a player who doesn’t play until Sunday afternoon and is a late out – or you’ve simply changed your mind – you can simply ‘update’ the traded-in player to another one (who is yet to play, and within your available salary).
* The above will work even if the player you originally traded out has already been locked. With the end result being one net change to your team, it’s all at the cost of a single trade.
* Trade Update means that here is no need to navigate complex trade reversals that would rarely work due to traded players or dual trade/dual position moves being involved/locked. If, however, neither of your traded in/out players are locked and you are able to complete a trade in reverse, you will receive your trade back and effectively reverse your trade (with the net result being no change to your team).
Nice update RB, thanks mate. I discovered that one by accident the other day, it’s a great addition to SC in my view. Hope they keep it beyond this year.

Can’t believe we dropped Powell (assume he’ll end up as the sub) and kept Lazarro in the team. Good to see that we’ve realised we were too tall last week.
My simple question. Why is Rioli allowed to play this week?
Willie Rioli’s ban was overturned by the tribunal.
“The Tribunal is not satisfied the player engaged in rough conduct. Incidents such as this, where the question revolves around whether and how the player is contesting the ball are not easy.
“The Tribunal will be astute to uphold any charge where a player was initially intending to contest the ball, changed that intention and in doing so breached his duty of care. That is not this case.
“Willie Rioli had eyes for the ball as he entered this contest. There is no doubt he braced for contact a split second before contact, but when doing so, did not cease to contest the ball. The way in which he did so was not unreasonable.”
Richmond: Dylan Grimes (Soreness) Out for Round 2, replaced by Ben Miller
