    1. If he didn’t come back in with Rocky out, don’t think he’ll be back any time soon.

  2. No trades this week as there are no viable downgrade options and am waiting for RD13 to begin upgrading.

    1. The only downgrade that I will probably make this week is ROB down to Sweet or Bines in the ruck at R3, To free up some cash for upgrades next week.

  3. If you’re covered for players in the R12 is it okay to bring in a R12 premo player this week and put him on the bench knowing that they’ll then play through the next two bye rounds?

Thinking Dunkley or Marshall come in this week for Bolton. Already got 20~ R12 players, assuming there isn’t any carnage come Thursday.

    1. I think it’s ok. I may bring Bewley in this week as it doesn’t effect my numbers and will afford me a double up and 1 more down the following week.

      1. Are you confident that he plays round 13/14 and rest of season? To risky for mine to bring him in early

  4. Several options this round which will be dependent on what I decide to do with Walsh in regards to downgrading or upgrading.

Could potentially trade him to Cripps to finish my midfield consisting of C Oliver, L Neale, N Fyfe, J Kelly, J Macrae, R Sloane and Z Merrett but I think I might hold off on the Cripps selection for a while longer.

Currently have 23 available for RD12 but doubts surrounding Z Williams, L Whitfield and R Sloane.

    1. Best to wait for his bye round first then if he does good keep him if not good bye to brayshaw

  5. Might keep it simple this week with just the one trade

    B.Scott > Bewley.

Free up some cash so I can go Goldy> Gawn after the byes concluded.

    1. Might as well wait until he is named next week, you get 3 trades each week through the byes. Why risk going early.

  6. Considering petruccelles break even of 70 and the likeliness of him making it. Me having 225k in bank
TU -straight trade to J cameron who doesn’t have bye till round 14
    TD – Hold

  7. Trading out ROB as Jacobs will slot straight back in this week. Who for?

T/U Bines (DPP if Fort gets a game)

    T/D Sweet

Has the greater schedule for loopholes

      1. He had something like twenty possies and five goals in the twos.
Don’t think they will play two rucks wth Jenkins back in the team.
Sauce is likely to replace ROB.

  8. I neeeeeeed a dpp mid! Even just a def or fwd rookie to downgrade to! I feel like I’ve had this problem all season!

    3

    2
    1. I am soooooo with you. I have 4 m/f fwds !!! Looks like Hayes out, swing one of the m/f fwds to the mids, then search for a replacement fwd.

  9. Trade J Ross, DPP Drew to the mid and bring Gardner to the FWD,
then Trade Drew, DPP Duursma to the Mid and bring in Houli

    TU good trade
    TD im missing something

    1. Gardner has had 1 41pt game, in a loss, not good enough JS for mine. And with bye this week, R14 on bubble seems a long way away…

      3

      1
      1. We’re not bringing him in as a scoring player for the rest of the year, he’ll just be parked at D8/F8, with a handy DPP.

  10. Want to bring Lloyd in this week. Most of my rookies are in the way up still and i double downgraded last week so gave nearly 400k.
    Get Lloyd for

    TU Darcy Moore
TD Mumford via Lobb DPP temporarily until i can get Grundy

  11. Aaaargh !!! Had it all sorted for this week until Hore and Whitfield got injured. Not even any point in thinking about it till Thursday. Anyone else got that problem.
At best, Hore can be culled a week early if need be, but he was/is still shaping up as d7.

  12. I’d think hard about bringing in Hately this week if he’s named as i’ strongest R14 but hat’s all I’m looking at this week at this stage

  13. Billings has had a relatively productive season.
Remember he was crook before game in Shanghai.
If you have cover in rnd 12 keep through byes.

    6

    1
    1. Im just worried he was playing as a deep fwd for alot of the game. Hopefully it just was because he was crook.

      3

      1. Yeah, they probably didn’t want him doing a heap of running, as he probably did enough of that the night before 😉

  14. 3038 coaches have already brought Gardner in since SuperCoach opened. He’s played one game and he’s got a bye people!! Same goes for the 2211 coaches bringing in Clarke after one game and on a bye and the 1419 that have brought in Bewley. At least Bewley’s played 2 games but is also on a bye.

We’ve got to be smarter than this people!!!

    7

    12
    1. If Gardner keeps playing then i might buy him after the bye rounds see how his score goes dont want to risk it like young

      6

      1. Gardner looks fine this week. He went from being drafted to being named within 24 hours, the speaks volumes to his JS. They need a big body up forward, Bevo has realized that Dunkley needs to be in the middle and Gardner seems to be the replacement.

And I think his score was actually okay considering the Eagles turned the Dogs into dim sims.

    2. Totally get you buddy , but I believe some people need to add players to avoid donuts through bye rounds and Gardner and Clarke maybe the only viable options at this point in time . Please give some other suggestions if you think there are other options ..
if these players aren’t making a difference to your bye structure then what’s the problem ?
Gardner was braught straight in so they see the talent and a 41 in a loosing side isn’t too bad , he should keep his place and Clarke was a standout, as an essendon guy, I don’t believe they will drop him with our injuries .

      12

    3. Ppl have loaded up on R12 bye players so they’re looking at the next two weeks (6 trades) to get 18 scoring players in R12.

Clarke should keep his spot after his shutdown job on Cripps and Bevo said in his presser Gardner’s only going to get better week by week. No risks, no rewards.

    4. Nothing wrong with it, we’re just building a warchest for the many upgrades to come in the next couple of weeks. It really doesn’t matter all that much if they don’t get many games or score well, they’re just a means to an end.

      5

      0
      1. I do agree to an extent and you’ve explained yourself really well too. Traditionally, a rule of SC has been to not trade this round. Are we saying that rule is now negotiable?

        7

        2
        1. Thanks Roo.
Seeing as how we get 3 trades in Rd13 and 14, people are probably trying to do two upgrades both those rounds. If you don’t trade this week, it’ll mean you’ll either only be able to do one downgrade each week, or you won’t have enough cash banked to do the upgrades, and will then miss out on premiums.

          3

          0
          1. Pretty much this. I have to kick a rd12 player or two this week if I’m gonna manage to field 18 by then.

            1

    5. Roo Bloke .

I agree with you in theory, but the Byes bring up some tricky situations.

I may bring in Bewley this week for Drew. ( I have 20+ on field hopefully) as I want to make a downgrade ( Gardener ) and two upgrades ( Blakely and R Gray ) next week.

This maybe the only way I have a chance to field 18+ in R13.

Not ideal, But maybe worth the risk.

      5

      0
    6. If you are looking to downgrade and there aren’t many options why not bring in someone who has at least played, over someone who may not get a game all year. Risky but might not be other options if you need to cash in for upgrades.

Personally I don’t mind running the gauntlet on a few rookies at this stage, if team is nearly done, don’t really need the cash increase anymore

      4

    1. Your top 18 scores count in each bye round. So for example, if you have 20 playing players on field this round, your two lowest scores won’t count. Hope this helps.

      6

  15. Is Coniglio now a must-have at his price? People were happy to pay close to 600k to start him, now he’s at a lowly 510k. With his breakeven in the 20’s for the next two weeks, his price set to skyrocket, so this is the week to jump on if we are.
He could make a decent M8, even if he only averages 105ish from here-on out.

    9

    6
    1. Don’t points chase. I’ve got him and he’s been pretty frustrating to coach. Tracking his scores he’s a great first quarter player and you’re think you’ve got a 120 coming, then he drifts forward, gets out of the action and scores a 90. I’d say there’s probably better players to head hunt.

      12

      0
    2. Was hoping to trade him in around 460k after his bye. Just had to explode this week and his price going to sky rocket. Need to change trade plans.
Still good value this week, but can’t afford to trade in a mid with a rnd 14 bye

      1

  16. I have enough players on the field going to save my trade then when the bye round is done going you start trading again

    3

    0
    1. Good idea if you have enough players for the byes round then you are good just see how the rookies or the prem players you are targeting are scoring so you can trade them in when the byes are over

      0

      0
    1. If it were any other time than the byes I would say “yes, trade his ass out”, but surely you have greater priorities than trading Billings out rn?

      3

      1
  17. Unsure of my trades yet likely Hore, Rob to part ways this week. Atkins, Walsh, Duursma, Balta to follow very soon

    2

    1
  18. Reilly O’Brien – thanks for your contributions.
Will Hayes – not so much.

In comes Gardner and Bewley, got more than enough players on the field this week, and the warchest is then loaded for a triple upgrade next week to complete the forward line with three of Boak, Dunkley, Daniel or Walters.

Will leave me with 12 trades, one rookie on field to be upgraded going into Round 14, and Darcy Moore the only weak link in the backline. Will probably sit on him for a while and try to upgrade around him, with a view to him becoming a D/F7 swing with Gardner.

Taken a slight hit the last few weeks with Crouch and Williams out, but hoping it pays off with a complete team in Round 14 with 9+ trades in hand.

    4

    2
    1. Too late, should have traded him earlier. Let him provide you cover for R13/14 if needed then get rid of him once you’re in the clear.

  19. After R15 (bye rounds +1) with 8 rounds to go, hopefully going deep into the finals, how many trades remaining:
would be ideal? (apart from 16…)
    would be an absolute minimum?

    Learning each week thanks coaches

    1. My equation is 2.5 trades per rookie upgrade.

Typically it’ll be 8-9 upgrades required for a team, meaning 21ish trades gona just on the upgrade/downgrade stuff.

Leaves 9 for early corrective trades and long term injury trades. So how many you have left post team completion will be dependent on how many of those forced or luxury trades you made.

I’ve been fortunate and have only made one corrective rookie trade and no LTI’s, and I’m expecting to have 8 or 9 trades left. If a few recent rookie downgrades pay off, I may be able to use 3-4 of those to bring in some premo bench cover, which would be a first for me. But all it would take is a couple of serious injuries and I’d be dealing with those and holding the other trades in reserve. Wouldn’t want to be approaching round 16 with less than 5 trades.

  20. considering big sauce jacobs most likely back ROB to Gardiner, will hayes to dylan clarke and whitfield to laird still got 665k to splash rd 13

  21. DO we think Sandi will come back this year ? If O’Brien gets dropped for Sauce, thinking of getting Lobb (Fwd) for Ruck cover for rest of year.

    4

    0
    1. Started with Lobb. Can’t see him getting dropped as number one but even if he does he’s a solid F7/R3. I’ve been banging on this all season on deaf ears.. lol

  22. $78,300 in the bank and already 19 playing this week.
    In
    Ryan Gardner
    Andrew Gaff
    Out
    Sam Walsh
    Bailey Scott
    Leaves $400 (Via Duursma DPP)

T/U Do it Gaff is a top 8 mid and worth getting in
T/D Not worth the risk of Gardner being dropped

    1. Argh! Saw this. Stuffs me up a lil. Guess he turns into Lloyd for me. 6 weeks is too long top hold and i count think i trust the Giants with 4 weeks

      1

      0
  23. What to do with Whitfield given his injury?
Reported potentially out for 4-6 weeks.

    TU – Hold
    TD – Trade

    2

    27
    1. Trade.

I believe it’ll be more likely 6 weeks knowing how conservative GWS is with injures.

      4

  24. if you already have Lloyd and Hurn, then who’s the next best defender?

    Who to trade Whitfield to?

    2

    0
    1. Hurn is out for 2 weeks too!! Adam Simpson said very likely he’ll miss two games, probably back in Rd15

      1

      2
    2. Houli? But I don’t trust him to play out the rest of the season. Otherwise pick b/w Laird or Sicily

      1

      0
  25. Guess I’m using that third trade this week.

Got enough players playing in this week already, and will have enough in R14.

Options are bringing in a cheaper defender (Ryan or Houli), or swinging some DPP shenanigans and dipping into the slush fund for Kelly.

Thinking the latter is the way to go. Will still have the funds for a least a double upgrade next week, with enough leftover that a single downgrade with will fund the last two upgrades in round 14 or 15.

Complete team with 8 trades spare. Ideal world, a few rookies will make some money and I can use three trades to bring Whitfield in when he returns and move Moore to the bench as cover on two lines.

    4

    1
    1. I’ve done Whitfield to J Kelly via Answerth at this point.
I worry about Ryan’s role with Pearce now out, so would rather wait and see if Logue comes in as a key DEF and Ryan retains his role before making the move. Feel like I’ve missed Houli’s haul and would just be ‘chasing points’ only to be burned again!
Cunnington might be the safer and cheaper option and am not 100% committed either way just yet.
But we all need a bit of excitement in our SC lives or we wouldn’t play the damned game would we?!? 😉

      8

      0
      1. Feeling the same way. Just not sold on those second tier defenders right now, and the “Premo Option” in Hurn is going to be a R15 target.

Cunnington has been outstanding, but I do wonder if teams will pay NM a bit more respect now, which probably starts with shutting him down.

Only other premo mids in consideration (ie. scoring well, and I don’t have them) are Parker, Duncan, Merrett, Gaff, Shuey, Yeo, Pendles, Treloar and Zorko. All R13 byes with the exception of Merrett.

        Kelly vs. Cunnington vs. Merrett.

High scoring, high cost, maybe injury risk.
High scoring, low cost, never averaged 100+ before, risk of regression.
Moderate scoring, low cost, prone to lower scores.

Feel like this is probably the time to bring in Kelly, when I can afford it. Cunnington and Merrett, and all the others, can be considerations for injury trades.

        2

        0
        1. Yep. Gaff playing inside rather than outside now puts him in my sights. He gets so much of it albeit uncontested, dropping behind the contest. WCE improving every week and just can’t see him getting less than 30 cheapies every week as key distributor. Who knows?!?

          6

  26. Trades this week…
    Steele + Hore > Hately + Jelly

    T/U – Pull the trigger
    T/D – No way

    3

    12
  27. I really didn’t want to trade this week. I didn’t want to ruin my bye structure either. But what choice do I have?

    Whitfield -> Lloyd

    12

    0
  28. Tu: Whitfield > Lloyd (I will have to do a downgrade most likely Hayes to Clarke
    Td: Whitfield > Houli

    7

    1
  29. Triple downgrade to generate cashola for upgrades across the next couple of weeks and a bit of extra bye coverage

    OUT – D. Moore, J. Petrucelle, B. Scott
    IN – R. Gardner, D. Clarke, M. Hinge

    TU – Go for it
    TD – Nope

    0

    14
    1. Hinge was pretty ordinary in the NEAFL last week, can’t see him getting a game anytime soon.

      0

      0
    1. I’m likely to hold. Assuming all players maintain their spot and with trades to utilise I should be able to have 18 each round excluding Whitfield. In the past year J McVeigh, J Smith and M Hibberd have all suffered the same injury and returned within 2 to 4 weeks. If he doesn’t return for RD15 I’ll still have Duursma to cover for him.

If you can cover for his injury then it would be best to hold rather than trade out then back in.

      3

      2
  30. Suggestions needed!

    Current backline premos….

    Hurn, Lloyd, Whitfield, Ryan.

Planning to hold Hurn through the byes. Whitfield needs to be traded. I’m torn between Houli, Stewart and Laird.

Numbers wise, Houli is the best bet. But can he maintain over the second half of the season?

Stewart and Laird would give me an extra 50k’ish to use on other trades. I’m inclined to go the latter because it’s a effectively a sideways. Thoughts?

    TU: Houli
    TD: Stewart/Laird or other

    1

    6
  31. Trading out Whitfield for…

    Tu – Stewart

    Td- Laird

I would do Lloyd but I need the cash for my disgraceful forward line 🙁

    1

    7
    1. Current form and availability, I’m the thumbs down.
But pleased be advised that after saying that, they will probably get injured and fall in form.

      0

      0
  32. I didn’t want to trade Whitfield out
it looks like I don’t have much
    choice. I’m considering the
    following trades.

    Whitfield >Laird
    Collins > Bewley
    Petrucelle >J Cameron

    Tu:Good trades
    Td:Have a rethink

    2

    0
  33. Possible options to think about.

Current Defence: Lloyd, Laird, Witfield*, Hore, Williams, BSmith (Answerth, Garner)

    1) Straight swap Witfield for Hurn

    2) Witfield > Kelly/Stewart via T. Watson dpp

If I do the second option, it will leave me with either walsh or stack on the bench after the byes, which I could use one as a downgrade and upgrade the defence.

    0

    0
  34. The kelly conundrum.

If you had the cash to splurge would you bring in J.Kelly this week at $660k.

TU – Yes (he’ll maintain his 130+ average & is a must have)

TU – He’ll drop in price (bite the tongue and be patient)
