The thing that will have me hold spp is that we know he’s not that bad as a player. Hard to know if it was him, the team or all of the above. Absolutely won’t be on-field again though…
Brad Scott for whatever reason was reluctant to give him a fair amount of game time (only 57% TOG), even though he proved himself more than enough in the pre-season, especially with his clearance work.
Had he have gotten anywhere between 70-80% TOG at least, like most of the other top rookies who started, he would’ve scored around 70+. If that was the case, no one wouldn’t even be considering trading him.
Keep in mind he got 18 touches too, which is still pretty good for that amount of game time, efficient or not.
Bombers face the Crows in Melbourne next round, so my guess is he’ll get a better go.
For me personally though WW, I didn’t like the look md of ball that he got. And for someone without Lindsay, Lashcroft or NOD I’ll burn the trade to move him out.probably for NOD, I’ve liked him since his rookie year, and hopefully he’s over the injuries.
On the night i was extremely critical of tsatas and left frustrated by his TOG an DE% soon as lockout was lifted I was rage trading him… when he got it out of the pack he just slapped it on the boot and looked about as composed as my 4yr old son, potentially worse. But in the actual contest and stoppage he looked great could find the pill an clean getting it out to team mates.. I think I’ll be giving him one more week to redeem himself scott just needs to increase his TOG.
Did anyone watch the pies game and see if Perryman had a role change over the weekend to explain the low score? Other than dealing with him I’m considering bringing in Corey Warner
Was bought to the club as a defensive Midfielder. SDK potential early sideways correction, has a magnificent role. Only question is does he keep it.?????
As others mentioned he tagged.. The worrying bit about the weekend is he done well tagging JHF had very little influence all night so may do the role more often going forward.. could he tag Richards or libba this weekend… wouldn’t rule it out and that’s worrying for his own SC game
Funnily enough I trumpeted these two guys and in the end didn’t pick either of them. Wish I trusted my gut. Leaning toward Freijah he looked impressive after the first quarter.
I kinda go the opposite way. I can’t see Freijah’s role changing so much while Geelong might brig in another Ruck throughout the year so he’s less viable long term in my view. He will go gang busters this week and both choices are solid
I’m an idiot who doesn’t have Bailey Smith, and he will absolutely run riot against the St Kilda non-midfield this week. But I have no cash in the bank, and there only real way to get him is to trade Zach Merrett.
I know that sounds stupid, but I really hate it when my midfielders play at full forward like Zach did in the second half.
TU pull the trigger and don’t look back
TD reconsider your life choices
I feel your pain – I also have no Smith and no cash. Now I debate my choices of which rising star Day or McKercher is making way for him. It won’t be this week, I wouldn’t think.
I have had Zach every year for . . . years, and only left him out at the last minute. I think his role is fully outside this year, but unlikely to be full forward too many weeks. Based on a sample size of one game each, Smith is going to outscore him every week.
Your cash cows always determine your team structure. Not the premos. Selling Zerrett, Baz could end up a keeper and you’ll have the chance to bring in on of the good rookies you missed.
Likewise. Have been Zerret fan for years and had him and no BSmith but Im going against rule 101 just cause I see the Bailey growth being significant from his price point and builds a bank for decisions next week. Zerrets price needs to score well. Wont look back…
So cash gen seems a bit tight at the moment. Only trade I’m considering is h Garcia. Hes likely to be a slow burn at best. What are his chances of improving? Should I give him a week?
I want to avoid having too many trades to make on the week of price changes and I want to make sure there’s no one to get from Sydney and hawthorn on the bubble this week. For the latter point I’m looking at Corey warner, for the former I’m looking at Lindsay and nod. Is it worth getting Corey warner?
Thumbs up – Corey warner (nod and Lindsay next week if they still look good)
Thumbs down – skip warner go straight for either nod or Lindsay
Hold both for now just due to them being best 22 and can score over 50.
Get defense rookies off field if you can.
Unless going both down to SDK and Freijah types to upgrade a DEF rookie.
Day was tagged, Smith under $400k, forward line is pretty thin. I started him so doesn’t bother me but there’s solid reasons to want to bring him in for a Sanders type
Think my targets are Jackson to TDK which I’ll need to find. Kind of want to ship Perryman but for who ? Sideways or down to fund TDK. I liked the look of Callahan should Cerra or Oliver make way ?
My DEF is 4/4. I have Zorko, Short, Roberts, Perryman plus 4 rookies.
I have an issue. I have SPP & I don’t have Bailey Smith.
T/U
4 trades over 2 weeks to get past Callaghans bye.
Perryman & SPP >> Bice and Bailey Smith this week.
Brayshaw & Bice or worst performing/nonselected Def rookie >> Frejah & Callaghan next week.
Yes I know why you say that Johnno and I totally agree up to a point, but the lack of trustworthy defensive rookies forces my hand I think. There are many pieces to this that it seems to fix. Collingwood smashed Port and Perryman was used as a tagger and got 62 points. Powell-Pepper got 18 points. 80 points between them. Smith was top scorer on the ground in the Geelong Freo game 147 points and is highly owned. I was dumb to fade him. Bice started as sub for Sydney. Callaghan has got 248 points from 2 games. Brayshaw allows the cash to make it all happen and it saves at least one trade, maybe more. I’m not sure if I have seen anything this year yet that says Brayshaw outscores Callaghan by much at all.
I definitely see the logic in it. Just don’t love getting rid of a premo who is still playing. It’s a solid plan but I’d still leave some room for next week if Brayshaw goes well again and you have to hold. He did start a bit flat last year too but came home brilliantly and I’d be hoping that he fires up next week
I don’t know if everyone else who voted no was thinking the same as me but I’d hold Camporeale. $113k rookies don’t need to score much more than 50 to generate a ton of cash so he isn’t a problem in the team. I would do the other two, just that Campo isn’t worth boosting out
I want to bring in Lindsay for SPP, but it would mean moving Hall to the forward line and lose that MID/FWD option in my midfield.
TU: Fine to do it now, can focus on bringing in a DPP in that area closer to the mid-year bye rounds.
TD: Wait another week to see how options like Warner, Konstanty and Johnson go, and how SPP goes against Richmond
Selected JHF as a keeper. Not so distressed at his tagged R1 performance that I desperately want him out but would like to get Smith in before his first price rise. He looks (from the single game) like a top 6 FWD. I figure JHF will not rise to the point that I can’t get him back in later with the standard sequence of 1 ups and 1 downs.
Would also like to switch SPP for Lashcroft (traded him for Lalor when he was named sub). Again, SPP will certainly have better games but don’t want to miss his first rise.
SPP and JHF have Tiges next week, Smith has Saints anf Lash has WC. Should all be murders.
TU: SPP to Lash now (Lash will go better Vs WC than SPP V Tiges) and JHF to Smith next week.
TD: Pull the trigger on both now.
OR
SPP & Lalor to Lash and Boyd this week.
Flynn and Perryman to Smith and Freijah next week.
Could possibly burn a boost next week and get Hewett up to Lindsay if he still looks the goods.
Out – cerra, tsatas, Garcia
In – smith, L. Ashcroft, N. O’Driscoll
Also leaves 112,200 in bank for future trades.
Cerra to Smith is a bit sideways for what I like but Smith will be top 4 forward and cerra I don’t think will make the money to make it worth keeping him.
It’s just really not worth using a boost to trade out a guy who scored 109. The other two I can definitely understand getting rid of. I think I’m going to hold Garcia and Tsatas for one more week myself (this might change) but definitely understand trading either or both
Meek did get 126 a week ago so I don’t like using a boost to get rid of him. Is there anyway to just do Perryman and Garcia to Baz and maybe like an SDK or Freijah?
For those thinking of getting rid of Leake, I reckon hold onto him this week and then decide what you want to do the week after (depending on selection and choices of other players on the bubble).
Have Will Ashcroft currently but need cash to bring in NOD and The younger Ashcroft in the next two weeks.
Could Jack Ross make more cash than Washcroft. Ross will be a POD and looks like the tiges number 1 mid. Washcroft not a POD and has to contend with high scorers.
TU – Take a punt on Ross to get the two young cash generators.
TD – Hold Wascroft and possibly miss out on those two.
I have W Ashcroft, so watched him closely on the weekend
I wanted him after a full pre-season this year, & also after he averaged over 100 in the last 7 x rounds last year.
However, his work rate on the weekend was poor – just jogged from contest to contest, and with no real grit & determination when he was actually in the contest
He was a very different looking player from last year IMO
It could have just been an ordinary week from him, so am giving him another chance – but he really needs to step up his intensity this week versus the WCE to survive in my team going forward
Why trade after one game???????
Fair enough if they’re on the bubble like maybe Long or dump Perryman
Wait for more data before slaughtering a precious trade you’ll need later on
I think the only reason to trade after 1 week is because we are all expecting next week will be spent on 3 rookie corrections. So missed players such as a Baz type probably need to come in this week unless you are keen on going early on rookies which I personally am not.
good point. if we have NOD, Ashcroft, Lindsey all on the bubble next week and only 3 trades. Especially if you are like me and only have $7k in bank (note to future self – start season with more cash in bank for early trades) you might need to trade to have cash for next week
Regarding this, I might add a bit of context. Usually I would wait a week, however there may be other ‘correctional’ trades as such to make next week. Keep in mind we can only make a maximum of 3 per week. Don’t want to be stuck in a situation next week where I miss one of these rookies. Could also potentially save me a boost if I go early this week. Food for thought, thoughts really appreciated!!
Problem is the defensive rookies are not scoring well and you are introducing another one onfield. I can understand trying to get rid of Perryman though. Freijah and SDK seem to be popular mid priced selections?
Was tossing up all pre season and in the end I don’t have bailey smith or tdk. I wouldn’t mind having them both.
Who should I target 1st?
T.u Smith
T.d tdk
Comment get them both but would have to trade I premo
In a lot of cases, I don’t think its a case of panic trading. I think its more a case of coaches wanting to make multiple corrective rookie trades so preferring the option of doing 1 or 2 trades this week, then another 1 or 2 next week. Rather than none this week and using a boost to make 3 next week.
This week:
NWM > SDK
Stone/Camporale > Levi Ashcroft
Next week:
Tsatas > Lindsay
Roberts > Whitfield
I know it seems aggressive and people will ask the question; why on earth would I consider trading out NWM? The answer is because I can’t find another way to free up the funds to accommodate the likes of Levi & Lindsay and he is probably my ‘worst’ premo if that makes sense. It also allows me to bring in SDK who looks set to make a fair stack of money. I can be ultra aggressive and move Roberts on his bye next week to whitifield who has come off his bye. I know Roberts has more money to make after next week however so does Whitfield. I am playing for overall and I feel as though he could be a massive pod early due to his bye. Can see him being 650k + for the majority remainder of the season. These moves also allow me to move a rookie such as camporale or stone who look to be slow burns and have major job security risks to someone like Lindsay who looks like almost a must have after watching him over the weekend.
Lengthy read, would really appreciate the feedback. I have traded aggressively early to set my side up and it has paid off in the past.
Thanks in advance!
Best 18 for the next few weeks, I am thinking wait until the low performers are on the bubble then trade, it’s not like they are going to lose money, they might actually have a good RD2 and increase in value. Saves trades as well.
Would love to trade him to a Lashcroft or NOD but unfortunately don’t have a mid / def loop to throw back. So might have to give him another chance which im not hopeful of, will be interesting to see how he goes with De Goey in aswell. Cheers for the comment mate
Why are people so set on being conservative and waiting to trade next week?
I get you don’t need to be super aggressive but no matter how good your starting team is, I’m sure there will be a few spots you can fix and players you missed. We know the majority of roles by now and it’s a matter of getting these trades sorted before the initial price rises. What happens if your in a position next week where you need to make 4 trades and can save yourself by making 1-2 this week or even save yourself a boost?
I feel as though being aggressive early can set you up in good shape, whilst being wise of course. Food for thought..
Me personally Niko, I have picked my side for a reason and 1 week isn’t a great sample size. Eg SPP, Tsatas and Perryman. SPP has RIchmond this week at home and will have to show something after a poor week last week. The other 2 I wouldnt hate seeing another week to see what roles and TOG are. Plus also it’s best 18 this week which I believe makes a massive difference to if it was normal best 22. If it was best 22 I’d be way more aggressive, so let’s see what happens i guess.
I agree mate, but are the bare minimum I think we need to be grabbing the ‘must have’ rookies this week. I missed Lashcroft personally and I am looking at all the ways I can get him in this week as I’m sure next week there will be multiple issues we are dealing with.
Need to free up funds to bring in Levi Ashcroft & Xavier Lindsay. I dont really have any players that I started that I’m willing to trade out though.. perhaps Cerra? He has been seen to be training with the defence this week.
Cerra > Levi Ashcroft
Rookie* > Lindsay
This will leave my the funds next week to do;
Matty Roberts (on his bye) > Whitfield.
Will also leave my with roughly 90-100k itb for my next upgrade.
I know Cerra isn’t necessarily a trade out, however I didn’t start the likes of Perryman/Sanders ect. Playing for overall. This will give me the opportunity to get the necessary cows too. Thoughts please!
Tu; Go for it, nailing the rookies are key
Td; Just trade Tsatas > Ashcroft this week and re evaluate next week
Before people come at me for considering this play.. remember this is a trading game and overall I think it could leave me it better shape long term. It’s about the overall net at the end of the day rather than the individual players.
I’ve got no objections to being aggressive but I’d just go for Tsatas/rookie to Ash for now. Getting that out of the way allows you to blast off next week more informed.
Cerra threatened a big score v Tigers. Fixture opens up too. Back in the pick.
Do we have concerns that Cerra was training as a defender? He went behind the ball last week when Doc came into the side. Probably over thinking this one, just trying to get creative.
I am making the move this week. There’s every chance next week we will need to make another few moves. Levi also looks like a must have so happy to grab him now.
I’d get one more look at Long cause he has the bye next week. He might go up $30-50k but he’s already elevated and it would be good to see another bigger score after his (sub affected) 30 in round 1
Long will go up by $50k if he scores 72 this week if he scores 72 in his game after next he’ll go up by another $53k.
With so many trades available I’d do it but I’d get Warner this week instead of LAshcroft because warner will go up $45k if scores 60 this week and another $38k if he backs it up with another 60. Thats a good return for a forward
As much as I want to rage trade and use a boost like I normally would after 1 week I think I’m sticking to one trade Powell pepper to Levi Ashcroft
T/u yes Levi plays west coast this week
T/d no give spp another chance he plays the tigers
Had a godawful start to the year but trying to hold my nerve and just do Sanders – Smith this week.
Starting Meek over TDK is stinging like crazy but I’m resisting the temptation to sideways trade.
SPP > Lashcroft
Tsatas > Lindsay
Need to pull the trigger on above this week as will probably need to get Baz in next week. Leaves me room for 1/2 corrections
TU Yes do it
TD Don’t do it this week
Would usually wait a week to bring in ashcroft or lindsay but with Lynch, do we think I just make to move now, didn’t see much from lynch suggesting he will make any more money than those boys anyway if he gets on the park and can make it work with hewett and hall dpp on mid bench
SPP & Lalor to Hall and Lashcroft this week.
Allows me to move Perry & Flynn to SDK & Smith next week.
The way I see it, I lose 2 earners in Lalor and Flynn but gain two in Hall and Lash. Losing Flynn sucks but I can’t get to Smith otherwise (without trading JHF who I bought as a top 6) and I want to get what looks like another top 6 FWD at ground floor. I also lose Perry, whose role as a tagger will surely reoccur.
End up with FWD: JHF, Rankine, Smith, Macrae, Daniels and one of Kako/Hall/Davidson onfield.
Only really losing Flynn’s CG and flex value.
Hi All, good luck with the round.
Like many I am struggling down back.
I can just manage; Tsatas, Garcia and Travaglia to SDK, Hall and Lindsay.
This moves Paton forward (if he keeps his spot) and then one rookie on field in defence.
TU. Yes do it.
TD. Just Travalglia to Lindsay and have another look.
Perryman
TU – Trade
TD – wait a week
He has a bye round 3, might as well hold him until then and try getting Whitfield coming off his bye
SDK has a great role. The question will be does he hold it.?
Garcia
TU – Trade
TD – wait a week
Powell pepper
TU – trade
TD – wait a week
The thing that will have me hold spp is that we know he’s not that bad as a player. Hard to know if it was him, the team or all of the above. Absolutely won’t be on-field again though…
I personally hard watched SPP and I’ve never seen someone so lazy. Would go in hard, miss the contest and ball and be exhausted. No second efforts
Immediate Trade. PA way off the pace, holes everywhere. Doesn’t suit SPP.
Perryman and SPP to Smith and Lashcroft as soon as it opens.
Should i also do FOS or Tsatas to Lindsay
Tu: Yes – get all the good cows while their price holds
Td: No – worth having another look at them all
FOS (51)
TU – Trade
TD – Hold
Tsatas (50)
TU – Trade
TD – Hold
I’d hold mate.

Did anyone watch the pies game and see if Perryman had a role change over the weekend to explain the low score? Other than dealing with him I’m considering bringing in Corey Warner
Tagged horne francis and spent some time on the wing. Worth waiting a week to see role again if you can but for me im trading so i have smith
Was bought to the club as a defensive Midfielder. SDK potential early sideways correction, has a magnificent role. Only question is does he keep it.?????
He tagged JHF.
So not only did he sacrifice his own score, he denied JHF a decent score as well. This is great ♂️
Had 13 CBAs. Same as AAMI, 4th MID. Behind Long, Daicos and Sidebottom (20~).
What I hated was he scored so poorly in a romping win. Get smashed by 90 points, fine. But to do the smashing and only muster up 62? Yowza.
Will be hard to justify holding if he spuds it up before his bye.
Role was frustrating but BE is still only 77. As others have said, I think it’s a hold and reevaluate at his bye
As others mentioned he tagged.. The worrying bit about the weekend is he done well tagging JHF had very little influence all night so may do the role more often going forward.. could he tag Richards or libba this weekend… wouldn’t rule it out and that’s worrying for his own SC game

Trade Tsatas > DOD
TU: yes
TD: no
Priority Trade Out
TU- Tsatas
TD- Hugo Garcia
Leake
TU: TRADE
TD: KEEP
He has bye this week. Waiting til next week for a very likely trade
Looking at potentially Lindsay & Levi
Tu; This week
Td; Wait another week
Lions have WCE and the Midfield will feast. Lindsey, looked real good in the role.
Sanders
TU: Trade
TD: Hold
If you already have Smith i would hold for a few weeks. Still think he is capable 85+ until Treleor returns.
But its a 50/50 call on him getting at least 6 games in his current role.
Trading Perryman
TU: Freijah
TD: SDK
Funnily enough I trumpeted these two guys and in the end didn’t pick either of them. Wish I trusted my gut. Leaning toward Freijah he looked impressive after the first quarter.
If RoMo’s injury sees him miss next week v Cats, go SDK. Boyd will make him look like his brother.
Freijah’s role was super random but he’s just a good player. Solid.
I kinda go the opposite way. I can’t see Freijah’s role changing so much while Geelong might brig in another Ruck throughout the year so he’s less viable long term in my view. He will go gang busters this week and both choices are solid
Have Tsatsas and FOS. Who goes for Lashcroft. Also have Lalor and Knevit who I’m keeping
TU – Tsatsas
TD – Hold
Comment anyone else
Ya teams no good bra
Haha. Thanks Pistol, we will de how we stack up come game day.
Just a reminder that this week is best 18 scores only. Rookies who have only played one game might be worth another look before their price changes

Tsatas, FOS and SPP are out
Baz, Boyd and Henderson are in
Disclaimer: sleep deprivation
Same Chillo
Had to do a trade boost to get Smith in due to insufficient funds.
Now watch him cop a Windhager tag and spud it up
Good point! Will reconsider
Your cash cows always determine your team structure. Not the premos. Selling Zerrett, Baz could end up a keeper and you’ll have the chance to bring in on of the good rookies you missed.
Agreed, Smith is highly owned and is a must St.Kilda this week. But expect a tag.
Who is the Merrett replacement. Lions have a good match ups the next few week. Will Ashcroft.??
It was going to be a straight swap, but I’ve decided not to do it.
Likewise. Have been Zerret fan for years and had him and no BSmith but Im going against rule 101 just cause I see the Bailey growth being significant from his price point and builds a bank for decisions next week. Zerrets price needs to score well. Wont look back…
TU: Corey Warner
TD: Max Hall
I did not start smith so bringing him i. so trades willl have to be flyn Garcia SPP to smith Levi and hall
Giving FOS and Tsasta another week but they could become lalor and nod
So cash gen seems a bit tight at the moment. Only trade I’m considering is h Garcia. Hes likely to be a slow burn at best. What are his chances of improving? Should I give him a week?

Thumbs up – Corey warner (nod and Lindsay next week if they still look good)

Comment – thoughts on holding Garcia.
Of those options, I think NOD is the must have. The others would be nice but he seems the most solid to me
following saturdays game, wondering what to do with ryan/neale
TU: trade both
TD: hold one more round
Hold for the season. They’re top line premiums who will fire, they just had bad games
Trade out:
TU: Perryman
TD: Short
Comment: Hold both
Hold both for now just due to them being best 22 and can score over 50.
Get defense rookies off field if you can.
Unless going both down to SDK and Freijah types to upgrade a DEF rookie.
Got to cute trying to find an edge.
Out- Peatling and SPP.
In – Xavier Lindsay(XL) and Baz.
Or any reason not to do this?
Garcia to Lalor a no brainer? Also gets a bit of extra cash for re-assessed upgrades after R2.
TU: Make the Trade
TD: Hold Garcia
Consider Lindsey, Lalor will not kick 2 goals each week and in a bottom 4 team.
Is it worth trading Neale to Rozee if it accommodates the funds to get the cheaper rookies upto Levi & Lindsay?
Tu: Go for it
Td: Give Neale another week against WCE at least
Did you see what the Suns mids did to the Eagles yesterday? Neale is a must hold
I know, really want to hold him. Think I will have to find another way to get the funds for the rookies mentioned!
Tom Lynch
Tu: trade
Td: hold
Find another way to get Rozee. Lions fixtures are juicy ove the next 8 weeks.
WCE
Cats – possible tag
Richmond
Dogs
Pies – possible Perryman attention
St Kilda
Suns
North
Melbourne
Yummy…. Neale owner and i will hold.
Who to cut for Bailey Smith
TU: Lalor
TD: NOD
Neither of them IMO
I am trying to find a way to bring NOD (& possibly Lalor) into my side
Don’t you have someone else to cull – like a Hugo Garcia or SPP or even Sanders
Who goes?
TU- Joe Berry 140
TD- Sam Davidson 113
Who goes out of these too pls
TU- Sam Davidson
TD- Archer Reid
Who goes in for SPP:
TU – Lindsay
TD – L. Ashcroft
No one this week…its best 18 and no prices change unless you have a player that has played two games.
Thoughts on these trades?
Perryman, FOS and Garcia to SDK/Freijah, Henderson, Bailey Smith
T/u neale, spp and Flynn out for hall, Smith and tdk
T/d tsatas, spp and boxshall for NOD, hall, and Lindsey
Comment
Make no trades this week
Remember SC rule 101 about sideways trading premos….especially a dual Brownlow medallist !!!
The second option, except hold Tsatas and wait another week on either Hall or Lindsay
Thinking just the one trade this round
T/U : Perryman –> SDK
T/D : Perryman + Tsatas –> SDK + Lindsay
comment: hold both until next round
tempted to wait a week until perryman’s bye and to get another read on SDK and lindsay
Why is everyone jumping on Smith after one game ??? Sure he looked good, but so did Will day.
Day was tagged, Smith under $400k, forward line is pretty thin. I started him so doesn’t bother me but there’s solid reasons to want to bring him in for a Sanders type
Ownership. Play it safe.
Massive high ownership, you can be left behind very quickly. Ie Heeney last year
Def: sheez, Clark, Holmes, prryyman, short, Reid, Paton & train
Mid: brsyshaw, Dawson, Oliver, cerra, tsaras, lashcrift, FOS, inevitability, has tie, box’s hall, camporale
Ruck: Cerritos, Jackson, Reid
GWD: Jhf, rankine, macrae, Garcia, Daniel, Davidon, Kakos, berry.
Flex: flyn
$20k ITB
Think my targets are Jackson to TDK which I’ll need to find. Kind of want to ship Perryman but for who ? Sideways or down to fund TDK. I liked the look of Callahan should Cerra or Oliver make way ?
What’s the stage of play – thoughts ?
*knevitt and hastie. Wow autocorrect did a number there.
Jackson scored 91 & has had a great pre-season
Oliver scored 93 and is seriously underpriced
Cerra scored 106 and is seriously underpriced
So tough call, but I would keep Oliver & Cerra
So maybe either:
Perryman & Jackson to Freijah / SDK & TDK (as per Johnno’s post)
or
Hugo Garcia & Jackson to Corey Warner / Max Hall & TDK (although be good to somehow use some DPP “magic” to get NOD instead of Warner / Hall)
Thanks Brett and Johnno
Callaghan’s on a bye so no rush with him. Perryman down to Freijah or SDK would let you turn Jackson into TDK
Interesting Mids LOL
*Xerri
Thinking of corrective trades only (for rookie priced players)
Boxshall > Hall (I can only assume I confused the two, no idea why I had a dead rookie on the pine)
SPP > L. Ashcroft
Wait and see approach for the rest. Neale misfired, didn’t have Smith. I don’t think it’s worth panic stations as of yet.
Boxshall won’t be far away
My DEF is 4/4. I have Zorko, Short, Roberts, Perryman plus 4 rookies.
I have an issue. I have SPP & I don’t have Bailey Smith.
T/U
4 trades over 2 weeks to get past Callaghans bye.
Perryman & SPP >> Bice and Bailey Smith this week.
Brayshaw & Bice or worst performing/nonselected Def rookie >> Frejah & Callaghan next week.
T/D
3 trades this week bypasses Bice.
Perryman, Brayshaw & SPP >> Frejah, Callaghan & Bailey Smith.
Wouldn’t be trading Brayshaw. Freo just got smacked and he still managed a ton. Premiums will come good, we don’t pick them for just round 1
Perryman SPP Camporeale > SDK Lindsay Lashcroft
TU: Yes do it
TD: No dont
Leake and SPP. No doubt.
Windhager a definite threat to Smith, too…
OR
SPP & Lalor to Lash and Boyd this week.
Flynn and Perryman to Smith and Freijah next week.
Could possibly burn a boost next week and get Hewett up to Lindsay if he still looks the goods.
TU
TD
Flynn, Garcia and tsatsas out for Smith, hall, l. Ashcroft
T.u yes do it
T.d no save trades this week
Garcia down to Hall or Ashcroft could be good but I wouldn’t be getting rid of Flynn, particularly not to use a boost for it
Garcia down to Warner to allow me to get Bailey Smith for Sanders?
Unless there is a similar priced player that’s better than Warner.
Is Karl Amon a top 6 defender this year?
It’s probably bordline
Perryman JHF > J Clark (Or other <567k DEF premo), B Smith
TU: Yeah
TD: Nah
JHF was tagged and still managed an 80. Can’t be cutting him yet. Try to find someone else to go in the forward line
Yeah good advice Johnno – sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else
Thinking of doing the following
Out – cerra, tsatas, Garcia
In – smith, L. Ashcroft, N. O’Driscoll
Also leaves 112,200 in bank for future trades.
Cerra to Smith is a bit sideways for what I like but Smith will be top 4 forward and cerra I don’t think will make the money to make it worth keeping him.
T/U – do it
T/D – not worth it
It’s just really not worth using a boost to trade out a guy who scored 109. The other two I can definitely understand getting rid of. I think I’m going to hold Garcia and Tsatas for one more week myself (this might change) but definitely understand trading either or both
Hey lads, got a giant bailey Smith sized issue i need to deal with. Which option do you prefer. Already locked in SPP – Levi fyi
TU: W Ashcroft – Baz
TD: Short + Flynn – SDK + Baz
Flynn, tsatas and Garcia for Smith hall and lash
I’m torn between Warner and
Warner and hall*
I am a swans fan and not sure on warner when all the players start coming back he could be out
Corrective trades with boost:
Perryman -> Holmes
Meek -> Flynn in flex
Garcia -> Baz
Meek did get 126 a week ago so I don’t like using a boost to get rid of him. Is there anyway to just do Perryman and Garcia to Baz and maybe like an SDK or Freijah?
Who to trade out?
TU: Fin O’Sullivan
TD: E. Tsatas
I’d wait on Tsatas…only57% TOG for 50 pts and 8 CP…not bad.
For those thinking of getting rid of Leake, I reckon hold onto him this week and then decide what you want to do the week after (depending on selection and choices of other players on the bubble).
But this round he can be your loophole option
Get rid of Will Day for B Smith?
TU: Yes
TD: No
Wait 1 day he is on the bubble. Extra cash
My only route to Baz is via Perryman but dont have any DPP.
Can do Perryman and SPP > Baz and Bice ( have Prior, Reid and Trainor already)
TU: Yes do it – Baz is a must
TD: No dont
Hey mate
I’m in a similar position..
Was thinking perryman, Garcia and spp for sdk smith and hall
Got less than 2000 last week need to go hard what’s u reckon
Hey fellas, straight Leake to Hall trade? Main motivation is to make sure i’ve got the trades for next week as i’m interested in a few.
TU – Do it. TD – Do not.
Appreciate the help.
Leake didn’t look great. on a bye this week. easy
SPP, Sanders > Hall, Smith
TU: Yes
TD: No
Hi everyone
Why trade after one game???????
Fair enough if they’re on the bubble like maybe Long or dump Perryman
Wait for more data before slaughtering a precious trade you’ll need later on
Good luck for the upcoming season
I think the only reason to trade after 1 week is because we are all expecting next week will be spent on 3 rookie corrections. So missed players such as a Baz type probably need to come in this week unless you are keen on going early on rookies which I personally am not.
good point. if we have NOD, Ashcroft, Lindsey all on the bubble next week and only 3 trades. Especially if you are like me and only have $7k in bank (note to future self – start season with more cash in bank for early trades) you might need to trade to have cash for next week
Tsatas > Levi Ashcroft
Tu; Go for it, Levi is a must have
Td; Wait a week
Regarding this, I might add a bit of context. Usually I would wait a week, however there may be other ‘correctional’ trades as such to make next week. Keep in mind we can only make a maximum of 3 per week. Don’t want to be stuck in a situation next week where I miss one of these rookies. Could also potentially save me a boost if I go early this week. Food for thought, thoughts really appreciated!!
Only scored 2070, feel like corrections need to be made.
T/U Perryman and SPP to Bazalenka and a DEF rookie
T/D Need to wait a week on these two bozos.
Problem is the defensive rookies are not scoring well and you are introducing another one onfield. I can understand trying to get rid of Perryman though. Freijah and SDK seem to be popular mid priced selections?
Sanders, Leake > L. Ashcroft, Freijah
Means I have Freijah at D6 and don’t have to play a rookie there
Or just hold?
T/U I can get Baz with a simple trade of JHF and leaving $176k. Then sort out the rookies next week. No other DPP option available.
T/D Three way trade this week……Lynch/FOS/Daniel to Baz/Hall/Konstanty and $32k
To facilitate, and not using Daniel means a Macrae/Satan/Dawson type to get the funds needed.
Only other option is Gawn/Lynch/SPP to Baz/M Hall/TDK and $4.6k
TU: Freijah
TD: SDK
Who’s more important to get in at this point
TU: Lashcroft
TD: Baz
Ok so I’m thinking I need to get Bailey Smith in my side or else the horse will have bolted and I will play too many sides who have him in them.
So I am contemplating the following:
Short to Friejah
Daniel to B.Smith
T/U – yes good move
T/D – no don’t do it!
Daniel will make too much money to trade
Just think back to why you didn’t like Smith a week ago, and has that changed?
If it was injury concerns, nothing has changed. If fact it’s not smart to trade into an injury prone player if you gave to then trade out.
If it was his role? Has that changed or did he just get in the right place at the right time?
Was tossing up all pre season and in the end I don’t have bailey smith or tdk. I wouldn’t mind having them both.
Who should I target 1st?
T.u Smith
T.d tdk
Comment get them both but would have to trade I premo
Hi All
After reading the first 10-20 comments I’m concerned about our panic trading.
Yes, it’s all relevant to worry about this week, but it’s only best 18 remember.
So shouldn’t we be concerned only about Swans, Pies and Hawks to trade?
I’m currently only trading Meek and Perryman, who I see least chance of maintaining BE.
I think/hope Day will be ok.
So people take a deep breath and look at sharpening the axe for next week.
Cheers
What is going on!!
Chameleon is the voice of reason.
Who would have thought
In a lot of cases, I don’t think its a case of panic trading. I think its more a case of coaches wanting to make multiple corrective rookie trades so preferring the option of doing 1 or 2 trades this week, then another 1 or 2 next week. Rather than none this week and using a boost to make 3 next week.
……forgot to mention Paton
Will probably not get selected this week or if selected,….sub
If he’s not named, I’ll keep him,
If named …..trade!!
Playing the last game of the round as sub will make it too late to trade sensibly and he will probably loose value……..
……… no I’ll keep him, his BE is -36, i thought it was 36…
Things are back to normal.
Confusing as ever. lol.
Call me crazy but considering the following..
This week:
Tu or Td
definitely worth trading aggressively if going for overall…everyone else chasing the title will be doing exactly that…
Trading Roberts is crazy
R2:
OUT: Berry & Tsatas
IN: Corey Warner & Lindsay (maybe L. Ashcroft)
Correction trades setting up for cash generation, flexibility and picking up Smith plus SDEK/Freijah in R3 if performances warrant selection.
Yay or Nay?
Best 18 for the next few weeks, I am thinking wait until the low performers are on the bubble then trade, it’s not like they are going to lose money, they might actually have a good RD2 and increase in value. Saves trades as well.
Thinking about chopping SPP and get one of the 2 rookie midfielders ice missed out on my, via DPP.
TU L. Ashcroft
TD X. Lindsay
Cheers team,
Mass
Currently own the likes of Perryman, SPP & Tsatas
And don’t own L. Ashcroft, NOD & X man
Am I crazy for not feeling thurge to trade this week? Don’t wanna be to reactive and give these guys another week to see how they go.
TU – Hold trades and can make some corrective trades next week with more knowledge and data
TD – No, trade. the rookies I don’t have are must have’s and need to get them in before more potential issues arise next week.
Cheers Legends x
Trade Perryman, reassess the others next week……
Would love to trade him to a Lashcroft or NOD but unfortunately don’t have a mid / def loop to throw back. So might have to give him another chance which im not hopeful of, will be interesting to see how he goes with De Goey in aswell. Cheers for the comment mate
Can you play around with your team using the flexi?
A D/F anywhere?…..
Nah nothing mate, Flynn at Flex. Poor planning on my end
Do you have a mid/fwd in the mids? You could trade SPP to one of Lindsay or Ashcroft that way. I just think they’ll be way better than him
NOD and Ash you’ll need.
Do you have Tsatas/FOS types that you can take across?
Otherwise drop a 500-600k premo to Cally next week and do it that way.
Doesn’t need to happen this week
Is this crazy?
Out short (fraud), perryman (role is uncertain), Powell pepper (unconvincing) for
In Smith (147pt), Ross (134pt), sdk(109pt)
Good trades.?
Perryman to SDK…..
I like it.
You lost me at Ross
Ross plays at Richmond
Predictions on which of these 2 will be the better pick?:
TU: X Lindsay
TD: E Read
The ‘must have’ rookies are only the cheap $119k ones. Expensive rookies don’t make as much cash, it’s all about Return in investment.
Make sure you have any cheap rookies in the bubble next week
Very sideways, but thoughts on trading Petracca for Dunkley? I don’t normally, however considering the point chase against Eagles this week?
TU: Yes
TD: no don’t be silly
No shame in jumping on the Lions. Their fixture is lurid.
Petracca was tagged. He’ll be ok
This will leave my the funds next week to do;
Matty Roberts (on his bye) > Whitfield.
Also, Levi is must surely?
Appreciate the feedback!
Hi Niko,
Just curious, do you have a Fantasy League team as well?
I think I’m probably gonna wait one more week to have a look at them but who goes for LAshcroft if I pull the trigger this week?
TU: Tsatas
TD: Garcia
Wait and see Johnno, I’m concerned Tsatas will be sub this week.
……..and Lashcroft to be sub at 3/4 time…….
TU: Tsatas to Ashfield this week
TD: no rush hold for a week and see how they both go
Typo: meant Ashcroft
I am making the move this week. There’s every chance next week we will need to make another few moves. Levi also looks like a must have so happy to grab him now.
let the sub vests decide their fate
Anyone keen on Ned long? Looking at Garcia to Long and Tsatas to L.Ashcroft
TU : Do it
TD: Man you crazy
I’d get one more look at Long cause he has the bye next week. He might go up $30-50k but he’s already elevated and it would be good to see another bigger score after his (sub affected) 30 in round 1
Long will go up by $50k if he scores 72 this week if he scores 72 in his game after next he’ll go up by another $53k.
With so many trades available I’d do it but I’d get Warner this week instead of LAshcroft because warner will go up $45k if scores 60 this week and another $38k if he backs it up with another 60. Thats a good return for a forward
@Niko
Could get Cerra more points.
Would absolutely do the first but potentially hold off on Tsatas to Lindsay
Draft Question
Starting Ruck:
TU: O.Mac (WCE)
TD: Grundy (fre)
Would usually wait a week to bring in ashcroft or lindsay but with Lynch, do we think I just make to move now, didn’t see much from lynch suggesting he will make any more money than those boys anyway if he gets on the park and can make it work with hewett and hall dpp on mid bench
TU: NOD
TD: Lashcroft
looking at a couple of correction trades to get the right rookies this week
TU
TD
Anyone think Jake Bowey could be a slightly cheaper and POD option down back instead of SDK or Freijah?
Nah. May and Lever are higher use than most key backs and Salem’s bopping around in basically the same role.
Bowey will tease but not be a long term pick.
Perryman > SDK
Powell pepper > Baz Smith
Yayy or nayy?
Think they are fairly standard across the SC world aren’t they
Hi All, good luck with the round.
Cheers
TU
Garcia to Freijah
Perryman to SDK
SPP to Hall
TD
Hold trades
These are likely my moves if/when Day gets a value increase.
W Day > B Smith (switch Smith to FWD)
Garcia > Lindsay
Perryman > Whitfield
They have to be done in that order so will also get another round of data to see if it needs re-assessment.
Sound Decent?
