  1. 8 trades left, teams basically finished but mills d6, tom McCarthy flex.

With 8 trades would you move on a lachie Neale? Tags incoming and is super frustrating, could sideways to a Daicos or someone!!

    TU – Trade Neale
    TD – Keep

    • I’m saying trade but out of the next 5 games who really tags him? They’ve got port, Carlton, bulldogs, Gold Coast & pies ?
Might be a bit of attention with port and Carlton but not heavy tags

    • Im holding, will be 4 trades left once team is complete, rather save that for injury. Worst case can loop with McCarthy on bench

Hoping the bye helps and every chance next game he goes 120 and Dunks or Ash go 80

  2. 8 trades left, prob going to need 3 of these for last premo upgrade.

Worthing doing a straight swap: Chad Warner to Sam Darcy?

  3. Currently 6 trades left with 22 premos and McCarthy at Flex!

Is it worth trading A. Clarke and Z. Johnson to C. Mills and rookie to finish side?

Would be full premo with 4 trades left.

TU – Yes, make the move

TD – No, hold for now still 9 rounds left and could be plenty of carnage.

    Cheers everyone!

      • The other 2 trade able players are Erasmus & Carroll.

Carroll has a -8 BE so he’s most likely a hold and I do like the DPP of Erasmus but he is an option to trade to have a a bit more cash in bank for future luxury or injury trades.

  4. Would you rather?
TU: Have 22 premos, ignore the flex and have 4 trades to sideway underperforming premos
TD: Have 23 premos, including flex, and have 2 trades to sideway underperforming premos

I have the likes of TDK, Neale, Warner, Rankine i’d like to swing if possible

    • In the same predicament, and I reckon 23 premos is the right call. I also have tdk, neale and warner but the whole point of the flex is to make up for anyone that has a bad week. Having a reliable flex can save you from needing those extra trades anyway. So I reckon go for it.

    • Mills is $135k cheaper and you keep an extra trade. You’ll lose about 45 points for the rest of the year if they keep their 3-round averages, but that’s an extra upgrade from an under-performing premo, which will more than make up for that.

  5. Nine trades left. I don’t wanna go early on McCarthy but it’s the only way I can make this work.
    Merrett -> Bont
    Long -> Darcy
    Hustwaite -> McCarthy

  6. 6 trades left $396k ITB, full premo except flex if you include mills D6 and and Daniel & Warner in my fwd line.

Already done hustwaite and visentini to butler and McCarthy.

Now should I save the trade this week leaving me with 4, or use my third trade to turn either Clarke, gray, or day-wicks to my last premo for my flex?

  7. Erasmus, Clarke and Keeler out
    Mills, Butler and Liddy in

Team has struggled this year, due to some suspicious coaching and a bit of bad luck. 5 trades and 125K left for final mid upgrade

  8. 6 trades remaining with McCarthy as my 23rd currently sitting in my flex.

TU: Sit tight for a few weeks and hold trades
TD: Go down to 4 and grab Mills through trading out Carroll & Clarke

Thinking some coaches will be in a similar spot to myself this week and with still roughly 9 weeks left I’m leaning towards holding the trades personally and hoping McCarthy can be serviceable as my 23rd for the time being. Only risk with this approach is that it may result in needing to use an extra trade long term to get another decent ‘premo’ as Mills will likely be out of reach in 2 trades.

Interested to hear the thoughts of the community though, cheers!

  9. Who would you trade out:
    TU: Neale
    TD: Will Ashcroft

Realise Ashcroft is in decent form but who is more likely to bring it home? Whoever gets traded out gets upgraded to Bont

      • Not sure it’s as easy as that – Neale has shown in the past he is an uber premium scorer who doesn’t get too overwhelmed with a tag.

I’m leaning towards keeping Neale due to his proven track record as opposed to Ashcroft who is still an emerging talent. Neale’s ceiling is massive and you don’t get to dual Brownlow medal status by coincidence. I still think he has it in him to get 130+’s – Open to opinion though!

        • I’ve got Neale, and I don’t share your confidence that he’s going to go up a level.
          This year, he’s scored:
          – under 100 in 7 games (over 100 in 8 games).
          – 100-120 three times.
          – over 120 in 5 games (mostly early in the year – the most recent were rounds 8 and 11).

          Ashcroft has gone:
          – under 100 in 6 games (over 100 in 9 games).
          – 100-120 in 4 games.
          – over 120 in 5 games (twice in the past month).

It’s basically a coin flip, unless you think Neale will benefit more from the bye because of his age, which could tip it in his favour.

  10. Clarke, Erasmus –> May, Mills

Gets me to full premo with 9 trades and 1 boost left. Roberts D6, Neale M8, Daniel F6, and Mills flex.

Trades will be kept for underperforming premos and injuries/suspensions. Targeting bringing in Gawn, Sinclair by finals.

TU: Do I use 2 trades this week to get Mills
TD: Wait it out and let some of my rookies make more cash (Trainor, Carroll, O’Sullivan, Johnson) and then upgrade

  14. Desperately trying to claw back some wins after disastrous bye rounds. Neale’s inconsistency has cost me games and I think his days of getting big scores are over. Changes to my mids will finalise that part of my team.

    Thinking:
    T/U
    Gross to Liddy
    Neale to Butters

    T/D
    Gross to Liddy
    Neale to Serong

Love to hear your thoughts to help a coach in need of some help! Cheers!

  15. Better option regarding rookies/bench cover?

TU: Bo Allan (This options means I will have the ability to swing McCarthy/Allan through Def/Mid and use them as cover and loopholes, however will have no fwd cover)

TD: Sam Butler (This option means I will have cover in every line, however I won’t be able to use McCarthy as a loop option in defence as he will be stuck in my mids. Ideally would love to loop him as my D7 for the remainder of the season)

T/U: 1 trade – Boxshall to McCarthy (McCarthy as flex)

T/D: 3 trades – A. Clarke, Z. Johnson & Boxshall to Bo Allan, McCarthy & Mills (Mills as Flex, use Allan to swing McCarthy between Def & Mids as cover)

    Cheers

  17. C.Gray, Johnson & Clarke > Butler, Allan & Darcy

Leaves me with 6 trades/1 boost, $47k in the bank and full premo except Jack Martin and Jaxon Binns on-field.

Bench cover includes Carroll, McCarthy, Rowston, Allan & Butler.

    OUT: Johnson, Clarke, Hustwaite.

Day would be M6 but I’d have full Premo bar my flex

    TD: IN: Lual, Liddy, Darcy
    OUT: Carrol, Johnson, Clarke

Darcy would be FWD allowing me to put one of Trac, Smith, Rankine, Macrae, Warner or JHF as my last midfielder full Premo bar my flex

    • It depends who you’re bringing in for them as to what would be the biggest point differential (for example, if it’s Cerra -> Bont, I’d do that before Rankine -> JHF), but without knowing that, I’d say generally:

      Rankine
      Roberts
      Daniel
      McKercher
      Cerra

  20. Hey Guys, bit stumped on what to do this week – would appreciate any help please. What would you do with this team? 13 trades, $63k ITB

Clark, Dale, NWM, Sheezel, Rozee, Roberts (Clarke, Hayes)

Brayshaw, Butters, Bont, Dawson, Sinc, Cerra, Petracca, Kerch (Johnson, Hastie, Campo)

    Xerri, TDK (West)

Baz, Macrae, Daniel, JHF, Warner, Rankine (Gray, Simpson)

    Sheldrick

    • Maybe something like this?
Roberts to Mills and $59k ITB
Gray to Archer May and $74k ITB
Hastie to McCarthy and $35k ITB
Replaces 2 non playing rookies with playing rookies.
You will then have $231K ITB to upgrade McKercher to a proper premo.
Playing coverage on Def,Mid,Fwd lines who will make money to upgrade Sheldrick to 23rd premo (Maybe Jackson)

  21. At full premo (except McKercher Flex) and seeking thoughts re the following:

T/U: McKercher out now, Jackson in (3 trades left for last 8 rounds).

T/D: Hold McKercher for 3 weeks and then bring in Gawn after he plays Witts, O’Brien & Xerri (3 trades left for last 5 rounds).

    • TD. Spot on.

Only thing that would change that, or maybe make me atleast reconsider, would be Jackson getting the solo gig again this week.

      Heads up, he’ll murder RoMo.

    • As long as you have reasonable bench cover for potential injuries, I’d go Jackson now.

Gawn could drop some cash after that gauntlet – if he averages 110, he’d lose about $70k, so you’d gain $40k (Max at $605k versus Jackson at $645k now). Having said that, there were a few price drops I’d anticipated that never materialized because the premo had a massive score (e.g., Bont and Butters).

Points-wise, you’ll be up about 75 points over those three weeks (Jackson @ 125 versus McKercher @ 100) and it should be pretty level on points after that. To come out level on points, Gawn would have to outscore Jackson by 15 points per game over the final five rounds, which seems unlikely.

    • Wouldn’t grab JHF.

He’s waiting to break down. Shoulder still looks dicey.

I’ve got him, I held him. It’s been a sweat watching him play on return.

Even Martin I don’t love as a trade in. Lacks upside with Dons season (you’d think) and fixture.

Grabbed him when he had a string of big uncontested possesion opps, who he’d eat again.

No longer the case and now also a sweat to see out the season.

Bolton does need to go however.

Have you hopped on Darcy already?

Yeah, I grabbed Darcy last week and have done Erasmus > Macrae already this week.

Feel I’ve missed the boat on Jacko and would take a couple of precious trades to get the funds for him now too.

Bit stuck as to who to upgrade Bolton to. Is Kennedy a solid pick maybe?

  23. Thinking currently;
Johnson, Gross, Erasmus -> Darcy, Liddy, Allan
Probably the only real way I’m going to be able to get to full premium (one upgrade left after this) and cheapest Darcy will be for the rest of the season, even if it means jumping off ship early on Johnson and Erasmus, I have cover on each line for the rest of the season.
