  1. I’m full premo with 9 trades left but Roberts is one of those. Playing for league and comfortably in top 4 in both leagues, no threat of missing.

Is it worth downgrading Roberts to a 99k rookie and playing McCarthy on field/flex until finals? Would leave me with 8 trades, 1 boost, and about 350k entering finals (barring injuries/suspensions).

TU – do it, Roberts will start bleeding cash and McCarthy is a better scorer anyway

    TD – sit tight

    • Similar question with Roberts at D6, but only 5 trades left with no cash and still one upgrade to go.

Do I use two trades to upgrade Roberts to somebody, knowing that I will need to use two more later on to finish my team?

    • Trade 2 deadwoods to playing rookies with JS that will make money. In 2 or 3 weeks trade Roberts plus a finished rookie to a proper premo and cheap playing rookie. Loop Roberts and McCarthy in the meantime.,

    • Wouldn’t be trading out JHF. Role was much better on the weekend. Wouldve scored close to a ton if he didn’t start the game on -10 for some strange reason. Should only get better from here

  2. Is there anything official on Caldwell yet? Hearing gone for scans but no news on the outcome. If its 2-3 guessing I hold as I can cover with TMac? 100k inb and 4 trades left so can turn him to anyone pretty much as hes in my flex

Tu: Hold caldwell as can cover
    Td: Trade

  3. Is McKercher a safe bet from here?

5 trades left, one premo short

    Thinking:

    F.O’Sullivan, Z.Johnson > McKercher, Shanahan

Will leave me with 3 trades left but fully upgraded. Playing for cash league

  5. What to do with LDU now he’s out for 2? 6 trades, 1 boost with $47k

TU > Trade (can do straight-swap for a Neale, Sinclair, Dunkley)
TD > Hold, play Rowston on field just to save trades

    Tu: Go for it
Td: Hold off and save trades

  7. Planning my final (luxury) trade for next week. Plan is to bring in Gawn to flex. Already have Xerri and Grundy.

    T/U: trade Mills
    T/D: trade McKercher

  8. Is Jackson now a concern given Darcy’s role?

Thinking Jackson and Simpkin to Libba and Merrett. Rounds out my midfield with 4 trades left. Leaves me with Daniel at F6, Dunkley M8, McCarthy at D6 with Bolton at Flex. I have cover with some semi-plump playing rookies (Carroll, Clarko, Johnson, Hall, Kako).

    T/U – do it.
T/D – keep your nerve and the 6 trades for later on.

    • One poor game…even Maxy had one. SC101 should be observed at all times, but especiially this time of season as we are mostly short on trades.

    • This depends on if you already own Newcombe.
      Or already own McKercher.
Or if you are going to trade for them.
Who you are going to trade.
How many trades it will take.
And what bench cover it will leave you.

I have tom mccarthy on the bench (if whitfield is ok)
98k ITB problem is i only have 2 trades
TU: Trade for a 450,000 ish defender
TD: Hold and trade 2 rookies to premos when they generate enough cash for me

  10. Can someone answer an odd question pls. I have one boost left and 3 trades. When do I need to use the boost? Can I use 2 trades then the next week have my last trade plus the boost? I think I remember once before having a boost left going to waste after all trades done. Thanks

    • Hey SG,

If you don’t use your boost you loose it. If you have three trades left, you can boost this week (or any round whilst you still have three trades) and use all three if you want to. The boost is not a bonus trade it just allows you to use 3 trades at a time rather than 2 in regular season.

  11. Gone all in. 3 trades left (no boosts). Sweet FA in the bank.

Roberts out for Rankine (Rozee moves to def).

Hustwaite out for George Steven’s. Would have preferred to bring in Shanahan for Simpson but needed the cash.

Jye Calwell out unfortunately of my top mids due to injury but can flick around Steven’s, Archer May & McCarthy via sub/flex this weekend for coverage of M8 depending on progress scores.

Caldwell goes next week with total spend of $581k for my last mid / fwd.

    That’s the plan anyway…

  12. 9 Trades $212k ITB – playing for leagues. Hovering around 8-10 in most.

NAS Clark Sinc Sheezel Kerch Dale (Clarke Hayes)

Naicos Baz Butters Green Bont Dawson Rozee Brayshaw (Johnson Hastie Campo)

    Xerri TDK (West)

Macrae Tracc Rankine Warner Daniel JHF (Gray May)

    McCarthy

Thinking Daniel > Anderson this week – would leave around $85k ITB

    TU: Good Trades do it
TD: Bad Trades do it – hold Daniel and keep trades for later. No need to upgrade. Wait for value such as Gawn Ed Richards Whifield in future weeks.

    • McKercher Out, Rozee to DEF.
      Daniel Out, Baz to FWD.
      Gulden in.
      Libba in.
Gain in averages of 67 points per week.
      $15k still in the bank.
7 trades still in the bank.
Clarke, Johnson, May, McCarthy still accumulating dollars for future trades/upgrades and providing cover.
May be able to work out some loops as well.

      • Thanks Fish- why Gulden over Anderson? Also is it not better to wait for Richards to bottom out over Libba? Kerch still has a low BE and has $$$ to make.

        • Good points raised, and good enough reason to do it your way.
Gulden over Anderson – I like that Gulden is fresh, only played 3 games, and has been sitting on the sidelines, waiting, for most of the year. Swans run home might be a fraction jucier than Gold Coast.
You could wait for Richards to bottom out but I like the points a week earlier, and I don’t actually see any benefit in Richards over Libba. Both averaging similar with Libba in front by 3 points. You could wait an extra week and might get an extra $15k on the trade, but if you are hovering around 8-10th place in your leagues I think you want those points as soon as possible to aim for top 4. McKercher is averaging 75. Libba is averaging 114. Thats a 39 point difference. Whatever you decide, good luck.

            • In theory not that many tags on the run home thought right? Gulden wing role scares me and does have a tendency to have some low floor games. Sydney may not have much to play for either soon. Do you prefer Gulden over Anderson Gunboat?

because I expect Libba, Gulden, Richards, and Anderson to all score more points than McKercher for the rest of the year? And with higher ceilings.

  13. Been looking to trade out Simpkin due to low scores and had Dead Gross and so was considering: Have 7 trades and 1 boost.

TU Simpkin, Gross -> Macrae and Shanahan

TD – Not worth two trades (too sideways and also Gross may play this week)

  14. I have 2 to go to full premo with TDK at FLEX and 268k in the bank with 6 trades. I have Zjohnson (249k) on field in MIDS and JMartin (241k) in FWD. Unsure whether to focus on one trade for say (Impey, Hall, McKerch) and let the other fatten or trade both and bring in a low pricer and someone like Gulder. Concern being the 120+ from Gulden plus the low pricer arent better than the combined score of what Im trading out.

TU 1 trade (Comment on which to trade and to who)

TD 2 trades and focus on major keepers

Can basically be anyone apart from the rucks as I have plenty of DPP across the ground.

  17. My final choice over the next few weeks:
TU: 1 trade to midpricer for looping with McCarthy and 2 injury trades left or
TD: 1 up one down to a value premo and only have one 1 trade left for injuries (McCarthy in the loop)

  19. Cerra to (with 35k in bank)

    TU – Macrae
    TD – Whitfield

Would put me down to 2 trades, but I think Cerra will fall down to 420 – 450k before we know it and these are two great options with their run.

    • Why are people voting bad trade here? Both TDK and Gawn have high BE’s and Gawn will score 30-40 more this week and has a good run home. I dont get it

  20. 4 trades left, full premium starting team aside from McCarthy but he’s scoring better than M. Roberts so I’m thrilled with that trade. Dilemma now is replacement for Caldwell. Torn between Gulden, Merrett or N. Anderson.

    TU: Gulden
    TD: N. Anderson
    Comment: Merrett (I fear tags).

      • Why say RP’s not ranked too high? Bit wanky. Dale is getting tagged, 3 round average of 82 so handy to move him on but only with more trades. Gulden is a good pick up

  22. Dropped 1500 places last week to 3200. 5 trades left. Freijah and McCarthy to upgrade.
No cash in the bank so I was thinking of downgrading TDK (Flex)
    TU – JHF
TD – J Cameron/ Kossie for a POD both with a VG run home.
    Or any other suggestions.

I could use 2 trades (bench rookie downgrade) to go TDK -> Grundy at ruck spot. Would leave me with 3 trades and 60k itb

    TD: Worth it

M – Naicos, Anderson, Bont, Dawson, Serong, Dunkley, Daniel, Bolton (Johnson, Hall, Liddy)
    R – Gawn, Xerri (Boyd)
F – Jackson, Smith, Kennedy, Darcy, Rankine, Warner (Kako, Butler)
    Flx – Simpkin

6 trades left, $25k in bank.

Bolton and Simpkin out for Rozee and Stevens, This would leave me 4 trades and $158k for injuries or one last upgrade if needed.

    T/U – do it.
T/D – keep the faith with Bolton and Simpkin…running down to 4 trades is a bit skinny at this stage.

  26. Not sure what to do with Caldwell in flex. 5 trades no boosts and only 10k in the bank. I could upgrade him to Libba or downgrade to Jobe Shanahan? If I downgrade then i could bring in a Nas or Brayshaw or Anderson but then who goes out? I’m a bit stuck…

DEF: Holmes Zorko Rozzee Whitfield Sinclair McCarthy (A.Clarke, Busslinger)
MID: Naicos Butters Bont Laird Hewett Washcroft Dunkley Sheezel (Rowston Liddy Z.Johnson)
