    • Accidentally posted my name, apologies.
      My question was going to be the following;

Best replacement for Xerri if you already have Gawn and no money in the bank?

      Cheers!

      • English? Also Marshall has a super nice draw even with Heath in the side. Likely wont play Xerri so outside if Gawn again all pretty positive matchups

      • I’ll get a poll going soon.

I like Grundy if no expense is spared. Gets Roos no Xerri, Giants, Dons and eventually Eagles to finish.

Grundy over Gawn, yeah. Has more to play for. Max, don’t get me wrong, also bussing. Has Eagles soon.

        RoMo some nice hits.

        DCam defs no w fixture.

AA ruck interesting. Grundy will pull ahead if he keeps this up. Just been insane.

  1. Martin & Xerri out. Zero Trade Club. Thanks for that, fellas.

    $1043.4 for a RUC and a FWD.

    Current lines are:

    RUC: Jackson & *Xerri*

FWD: Smith, Rankine, Racca, *Martin*, Darcy & JHF

    Options?

Gawn & Warner? Nank & Macrae? RoMo & Humph? Grundy & 300ker lol?

Gawn and Warn the most balanced. Good fixtures for Warner even though he’s been cringe. Max obvs top shelf. Part of me does want to spice it up though.

Started Nank this year and ruined my life. Be hilarious to circle back and finish w him. More so bc it allows for Macrae.

RoMo and Humph will be high variance but idm. Good ceilings. Miller out will help Humph.

Grundy & 300ker honestly not insane w 23rd dropping out. In past years there’s always a mercurial but recently injured FWD bopping around but legit no one atm.

    Thoughts, lads?

    • I’ll throw a left field option. I have TDK with 4 trades left but don’t think I can keep going with him. Considering Jordan Sweet with Visentini gone for the year.

If you went for him you pick any fwd you want, or even better any mid you want if you have a DPP in mids to move. If you don’t have the DPP option it’s less attractive but an option nonetheless!

    • Any suggestions with the 300ker idea?
I am playing around with an option that allows me to do the same and grab Grundy, just not sure on who the other bloke is at this stage

      • Probably doesn’t matter, Maka.

They’re almost certain to drop out as the 23rd.

        B. King, Bedford, Fogarty, J. Cripps. I’ve been digging into their fixtures but they’re all bang average 60s this year lol.

Appeal is Grundy’s fixture and utility as a VC/C. Captaincy the biggest lever you can pull week to week with most teams full premo and, in chunks, similar.

        R19: Grundy v Xerri-less Roos
R20: Grundy v shaky, low TOG Briggs
        R21: Grundy v Goldy/Blakiston
        R22: Probs pass v Lions
R23: Grundy v Cats, handles Blics tbh
        R24: Eagles

4/6 are absolute field day match ups. Like, he can cook them for 150s.

  2. Currently in the top 200 and have the opportunity to play aggressive this week.

Can’t afford to get Xerri upto anyone decent without using 2 trades as I have no money.
Dcam is priced less but pies have already hinted he will be rested in the run home at some point.

However, in 2 trades I can get Xerri upto Grundy (who has an amazing run home and could easily end up R1), but will need to downgrade McCarthy in the process who is currently my main bench cover (24th). Leaves me with 1 trade

Is this worth doing so considering my rank?

TU: Go for it and get Grundy
    TD: Hold off and reassess

    • Depends how many trades left you have in total. If scraping the barrel for trades, I wouldn’t go Grundy as injuries and suspensions can happen

      • If I want to upgrade Xerri to anyone decent then I will be forced to use 2 trades regardless as stated, no money in the bank.

I don’t love the options priced below X apart from Dcam who is going to get a rest.

Grundy could genuinely keep his current form up on the run home and be worth 2 players as he will be my vc/c almost every week.

Other option is hold X and have his score drop out? Decisions, decisions!

        • So are you saying you have 2 trades left in total? I’m saying it depends how many trades in total you have left. If you have a few and can afford to burn 2, I’d do it. If less then 5, I wouldn’t and just do a single trade to someone like Meek and save the money for other options. Also depends if you have a full premo team yet as well

          • Will be left with 1 trade if I make the 2 to grab Grundy, guess that’s what I’m weighing up, albeit full premo.

Almost thinking holding X might be a better option that going for Meek, don’t love his run home. Will need to continue to look at my options..

  4. Assuming Rozee is 4+ thinking below trade, otherwise ill hold and cover with Tmac. Laves me with 2 trades left

Tu: Rozee, Xerri to Gawn, Jackson
Td: Rozee, Xerri to Grundy, JHF

    • WITTS fixture:

      R19: Crows – bad
R20: Lions – eh if dbl ruck
      R21: Tiges – good
R22: Blues – eh if dbl ruck
      R23: GWS – great
      R24: Port – great

Witts narrow scoring stream but obviously very stable. Traditional HTA ruck. Fixture opens up but not great. Crashes into a lot of dud double ruck combos who aren’t necessarily themselves great but means he’ll always have a fresh opp, which sucks.

      MEEK fixture:

      R19: Port – great
R20: Blues – eh if dbl ruck
      R21: Crows – bad
      R22: Pies – okay
      R23: Dees – horrific
R24: Lions – eh if dbl ruck

Witts on fixture for mine. Although Meek will pop this week.

            • A week ago, I’d have said Kennedy easily.

Idk wtf happened v Crows – and I was there lol. Lower CBAs with Garcia in the mix but doesn’t explain that Phantom of the Opera performance. I honestly can’t tell you.

Was otherwise stable, although he does get bloody hosed by CD and thus has no ceiling.

Humph is speculative but has upside, ceiling and should benefit w Miller out. Problem is floor and fixture.

Personally, I’d put the points on the table asap and go for it. It’s essentially 6x games of Humph v 5x games of Kennedy in your case.

G’luck either way, Baggers. Hope the team finishes strong!

  8. Best rookie to bring in this week as bench cover under 250k?

Thinking of downgrading JHF and just using McCarthy as my 23rd.

Allows me to get Xerri to Grundy.

  9. 4 trades left

TU: Xerri to Gawn using 1 trade
TD: Xerri to Grundy using 2 trades

Feel like going against the norm and getting Grundy in, as everyone is jumping on Gawn. I’m currently ranked inside top 8k.

    1 trade.
    200K ITB
TU: make the last trade (martin to rankine or petracca)
TD: hold for another week and wait to trade out jack martin

Still leaves McCarthy on field and Jack Martin as flex.

TD: JHF, Xerri, Martin to Gawn, Darcy and Ed Richards.
    McCarthy to Flex.

Won’t have any money ITB after either trade
Still want to upgrade Mills down back somehow.

    Thanks

3 trades left, no money in bank.

Fully upgraded but need to move Xerri & JHF.

    Which option is better?

    TU: Meek, Warner (or Parker)
    TD: Grundy, C.Harvey

  13. Bit of an update.

2 trades left and now JHF joins, Martin and Xerri.

Obviously keeping Xerri and trading the other two given Xerri atleast comes back.

Like Simon above, I’m genuinely amenable to Grundy and frickin’ Harvey! I could bum w 2x options in the 400s for JHF and Martin but it’s all so bleak.

Grundy insane form and insane fixture. Harvey can be looped w May but they’re dropping out as 23rd in all reality.

Then got McCarthy covering DEF and taking early cover loops w Zorko/Whitfield. Hopefully Liddy can stay alive and be MID cover.

Ranked 3.6k, so may as well go for it. Either gonna win by 10 or lose by 40, as they say.

Like I’ve been droning on about for the last fortnight, captaincy is really the biggest lever you can pull week to week. Grundy to cook, GD to hope!

  14. Best mid or defender rookie to grab as bench cover for the remainder of the season sub 270k?

I am downgrading JHF to a rookie to free up funds for Xerri > Grundy. Will run McCarthy in my flex as my 23rd.

They are purely just going to be for bench cover, is it worth looking at someone like Mcintosh from Richmond? Has some of the best JS and can throw in the odd 70-80?

Or do I grab someone like a Liddy from port now with the injury news to JHF?

Rowston? Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

  15. 1 trade left, have Xerri and JHF with only 10k banked, do you:

T/u – Trade Xerri to 583k ruck. Then with dpp can play McCarthy as 23rd. (JHF dead on bench)

T/d – JHF to a grim 448k player, hold Xerri till he comes back and have to play with 22 for 3 weeks.

Might sound obvious but think the 583k ruck + 23rd option could outscore a sketchy 448k + no flex option for the last 6 rounds. (But do get Xerri back for the last 3)
