    1. Absolutely totally agree.

If there was anyone else that provided Dpp ruck/forward cover you would taken them.

For him to be earning around $900k per season is criminal.

Maybe Thilthorpe could get ruck / forward DPP in 2025.

    2. Frustrating day for owners definitely, however unless you still have 3+ trades I wouldn’t be looking to move Jackson on. Besides, the forwards aren’t great at all this year and on any given week Jackson can outscore the bunch around him.
The only one that you could consider is Rankine when he is back from suspension, keep in mind he does have a very tough run home.

I am a Jackson owner myself and will be holding and expecting him to turn it around this week against the cats who concede large points to rucks in general!

      1. The only problem is he is bleeding cash and this week looks to drop another $30k+, limiting options if he spuds again.

    3. It was a clear trade to either Romo or Tingles for me r22, until Jackson’s second half left me short of $ !!!

  1. Tu: jackson to rankine
    Td: curnow to moore

5k short of doing curnow to rankine

1 trade left after this which ill use for a injury or last round

    1. If Charlie is fit do not trade him out. Has eagles and saints in his last 2 games and is chasing the Coleman!!!

  2. If you had to trade one of these blokes out for Xerri who would it be;

Tu; English (dogs fighting for finals but has a tough sc run home)

Td; Gawn (Scoring much better than English but I guess there’s a slight risk he will be rested if melb can’t make the 8)

I am leaning English as I think Gawn will want to play out the remainder of the season being the proud captain he is. Also in contention for AA honours once again. Thoughts appreciated!

      1. I’m not sure he will be rested. Watch his post game interview after the dogs game. He sounded pissed off and like he wanted to play the season out to put some pride and respect back into the club to end the year. Also going for AA so I think he will be keen to grab his 7th blazer.

  3. Rage trade my complete forward line and throw Dunkley in there as well, out Heeney, Curnow, Dowling , Jackson, Zorko and Flanders. My worst round since the byes hopefully better luck week.

  4. Just lost both of my finals due to my opponent getting Bont as C and myself going as Sheezel. Elimination final for me. 1 trade left and full premo side (though Curnow is debatable because the Fisher and Rankine issues stuffed me)
    TU Steele to Neale
    TD Holmes to Ryan or
    Comment. Hold trade for security.

    1. Both are holds imo in general. Green is scoring well and Steeles pretty much tonned again the toughest mid matchup and now comes up against the easiest one in the comp.

If your opp has both then and this a must win then maybe Green.

        1. Opponent has Neale and Green. No Steele or Ryan. Thinking I might go Holmes to Ryan. TY Brother. Always good to get opinions on here

  5. Was planning to trade Jackson to Marshall last week in a must win final. Asked the group on this site and the vast majority said hold the trades and I just lost and if Id made the trade woulda won….

    Now watching from the sidelines….

I have three trades for sale….

    1. I took advice from some gunboat dude with captain choices this week. He advised Flanders/sheezel, but alas he chose bont….

      1. Any advice you receive on this site should be used as a guide only. You should be going with your own gut feeling and not blaming others when they offer “free” advice.

      2. Have you followed that dudes record this year ????? Pretty bloody good as far as C goes. Always too easy to blame someone else for one’s own shortcomings.

        1. Agree wighty. These guys put in a fantastic amount of work for our assistance. Would score no where near as well without their assistance. Thanks so much guys

      3. …. tells the story.
GD does a heap of work on this site.
Take his advice or not just don’t blame in hindsight from 1 week to the next.

      4. “some gunboat dude” hahahahah

You mean the guy who does a mountain of work on this site? The guy who’s article you read every week?

It’s almost like you rely on him to get a good captain score each week… I would be showing a little bit more respect than that.

  6. Tu: Sideways jackson or curnow to moore or rankine
Td: schoenmaker or J Clark to Phillippou and one loop curnow, jackson and phillippou each week

  7. 5 trades left. Thinking:

    Kreuger + Dowling > Caldwell/Rankine + $102k rookie that plays late next 2 rounds.

Allows me to loop Jackson & Curnow.
    TU: Sounds good
    TD: Rethink

  8. Am weighing up trading Luke Jackson out – instead of trading out Shaun Mannagh ?

    To upgrade McKercher & Rowell

But can I trust Mannagh on field ?

Am only playing for a league win & have made it through to the Preliminary Final, so only scoring during Rounds 23 & 24 are important

t/up trade out Luke Jackson – plays GWS at Engie Stadium in round 23, then he plays Port at Optus (Perth) in round 24

t/down trade out Shaun Mannagh – plays St K at Marvel Stadium in round 23, then plays WCE at GMS (Geelong) in round 24

    Thanks legends !!

    1. Is there a chance to hold those trades for next round?
If nothing matters this round you may almost be better waiting a week

      1. @ Natopotato – thanks for your reply!!

I can definitely wait a week on Jackson as I am through to the prelim final in SC.

However, as Wighty has said below, he dropped $36,000 last week (his price is now only $469k), and he has a break even of 154 this week – so he will drop another $31,000 + this week

So I am looking to downgrade either him or Mannagh to a rookie this week – and then will be able to upgrade both McKercher (has been sore) & Rowell (has been out of form prior to last weekend) during the preliminary finals next week

        So my choices are:

t/up trade out Luke Jackson – plays GWS at Engie Stadium in round 23, then he plays Port at Optus (Perth) in round 24

t/down trade out Shaun Mannagh – plays St K at Marvel Stadium in round 23, then plays WCE at GMS (Geelong) in round 24

        Thanks legends !!

  9. Curious what everyone is planning re Jackson. If you are into PF, do you hold and cop a further $31k decline ?? I’m in PF in one cash league and sudden death in the other but confident about the outcome.

    Thinking lI have two options.

T/U Straight trade which would allow Big O, Briggs, or ROB

T/D Left field alternative. Trade out Moore, swing Jackson fwd which allows Witts, English or Gawn, and I can then loop Jones and Jackson up fwd, as well as gaining ruck cover which I currently dont have.

Comment…..go back to your abacus !!!!

    1. Wighty my 2 bobs for what it’s worth is trade out Draper and upgrade Jackson to Xerri. That’s if you have 2 trades left. Take the best available imo. Good luck.

        1. @ Wighty – g’day!!

          That’s a tough one

I trust Dylan Moore way more than I trust Luke Jackson at the moment – and Hawthorn have a much easier run home than Fremantle

After Carlton this week, Hawthorn / Moore then plays Richmond & North Melbourne – so surely he scores really well in those weeks

Fremantle / Jackson play Geelong then GWS then Port

Having said that, not sure that Big O or Briggs or ROB inspire me too much 🙁

And the ruck cover from your thumbs donw option might be handy!!

If you only have 1 x trade left, I’d be inclined to hold Jackson for at least another week or two (and just cop the price decreases & potentially continud poor scoring)

The aggressive play would be your “thumbs down” option

The really aggressive play would be your thumbs up option

          1. Thanks BMH….I can use two trades this week which just means I am confusing myself even more over options. Jackson is almost 50% ownership, and many of those will be in the PF and many will probably be down to one or no trades.

I’m betting lots of punters are stewing over this.

  10. I need a midfield POD. George Hewett now that Cerra is done?
Costs 457K and has scored 109, 108, 135 in his last 3. I feel like Voss loves using him or Kennedy as a sub which scares me.

    1. You’re not crazy for asking.

Jordon could nab Daicos and Kerch, along with the rest of North, will eat v West Coast.

      Wow. You can’t loop?

      So tough.

If you’re not in the Top 1k and kinda just chilling, there’s totally a case to dice roll on Kerch.

  11. TU – Jackson & Dowling out for Rankine & Johnston

TD – Jackson, Dowling, Steele for Rankine, Johnston & Treloar

Could trade out Walsh or Rozee instead of Steele

    8
    1. Treloar has been in awesome form

But just be aware that he may cop a couple of heavy tags in:

Round 23 vs North Melbourne – Phillips tagged him to 58 points earlier this year

Round 24 vs GWS – Bedford is probably the best tagger out there at the moment, and surely he goes to Treloar (or maybe Bont)

  12. Dowling out means i have no mid and fwd bench cover but 22 on field and 2 trades left

Tu: trade him (can afford powell)
Td: hold and use trades to cover on field doughnuts

  13. Didn’t pull the trigger on Walsh to Treloar last week and now that leaves me in an elimination final this week with 3 trades in the bank. Which trade do I make?
    TU: Walsh to Treloar
    TD: Jackson to Rankine

  14. Please rank priority of upgrades??

    1. Grundy to Xerri(great Vc/capt)
    2. Jackson to Rankine
    3. Dawson/Martin to Treloar

    3

    1. Hmm.

Grundy to Xerri nets points, especially in the short term. Xerri goes 150 this week v Eagles. After that Xerri has Dogs Hawks to Grundy’s Dons Crows. With Grundy at 3x 90-110s and Xerri going 150, 130, 130 that’s +80-140.

Jackson is a bum, yes, but I probably wouldn’t raw dog Rankine in with his injury profile tbh. Jackson three good ruck match ups to finish (even as a second fiddle) and Treacy also out, so should be targeted more when FWD. Think you just cop him with the rest of us.

Then Dawson/Martin v Treloar. Right. Hmm. Call Dawson and Martin 100 and Treloar 120. Now Treloar obviously has a ceiling and red hot form. BMH noted in another comment he could get Bedford and Phillips though. Has been excellent. Covers by minimum 60. I see the appeal.

      So ranked:

      1) Xerri: Xerri R1 atm, gets Eagles, next 2 opps he’s gone 140 against this year
      2) Treloar: Martin and Dawson can trail by 20~ each week but also falter/match
      3) Rankine: wouldn’t bother on injury and Jackson ownership

  15. Have a enough cash in the bank to do Jackson to Rankine, and then updgrade either Walsh or McKercher — although the options are limited if i go McKercher.

TU: Walsh > Sinclair or Brayshaw (POD)
TU: McKercher > LDU or Cripps

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

  16. 550k to spend on last defender

    Tu – J. Clark
    TD – Dale

Keep in mind I do also have Hayden young and Luke Ryan so not sure if another dockers player is a poor choice

  17. Fisher….. was covering with Dowling but alas he not named.

Can wait till next week as not trading this week and will cop a donut, but do we think he has any chance of coming back . 1 trade remaining.

    Thank you in advance

  18. Currently have Grundy > Xerri locked in, but hearing Curnow might be a late out has me thinking of pulling an audible to Curnow > Rankine..

    TU – Grundy > Xerri
    TD – Curnow > Rankine

    2
  19. Hearing Curnow could be a late out which throws out my initial plans. If trading him, need to bring in a fwd for $500k. $400 short to get Moore
    TU Hogan
    TD Rayner
Comment anyone else like a Waterman or someone.
