  1. Gawn > Xerri ?

    Goodwin announced after the game today that Gawn has some personal stuff ongoing, not sure to what extent. He will also have a very high BE and lose cash fast, where as Xerri will be close to 700k at this point and this could be the cheapest price we get him.

    I don’t have any other trades to make this week at this stage, I have all the ‘must have’ cows.

    TU: Go for it, there is merit to the trade
    TD: Hold off, don’t be reactionary

    Peatling -> Lindsay
    Perryscum -> Whitfield

    FOS and Gawn also not ideal but thinking those three midpricer flops for the GWS boys is the go for now.

    Post-trades team should then look like:

    DEF: Sheezel, Whitfield, Borko, Roberts, SDK & Prior [Reid, Trainor]

    MID: Anderson, Brayshaw, Satan, Cally, NOD, L. Ash, Lindsay & Knevitt [Reid, Hastie, Camp]

    RUC: Gawn & Nank [Boyd]

    FWD: JHF, Rankine, Macrae, Daniel, SPP & Davidson [Hewett & Stone]

    FLX: FOS

    • It would probably take a couple of injuries to KPFs and KPDs to bring Paton back into the mix now, he had a chance to claim a spot when McCartin was forward but he’s seemingly lost that shuffle to Bice and Hamling.

      The Swans have McLean and Ladhams (and McDonald soon) back, which means they have sent McCartin back to defence, and Bice and Hamling are settling with Melican also due back in a game or two.

  6. Hate to have to burn trades and a boost already but they’re there for a reason. Currently looking at

    Perryman-> Freijah
    FOS-> Lindsay
    Petracca -> Dunkley/Dawson pending cash

    Don’t have Lashcroft or O’Sullivan (Geel) which is daunting so not sure whether to prioritise them or catching a premo mid. Waiting on teams and hoping Flynn is back in seeing as Williams didn’t run out the game and Reid struggled. LDU and Serong survive another week

  8. DOWNGRADE – Sheezel -> Holmes
    UPGRADE – Paton -> Freijah

    160k in the bank to help make this move. Backline rookie situation is awful. Currently have Sheezel, Zorko, Clark, Roberts, Blight, Trainor, Reid, Paton. This trade would mean my D5 is Freijah and my D6 is Blight (he’ll slowly make cash and will hold his spot).
    Logic is that Sheezel’s projected to lose at least 60k by round 9. His ownership has the potential to hurt me but not a fan of his flexible role (worst case I waste a trade buying him back cheaper down the line). Holmes 91 was impressive in the loss considering the Windhager tag. Freijah’s role looks consistent for at least 80 every week which will provide the funds for a premium upgrade down the line.

    TU – Yes, stack that backline.
    TD – Nah, keep sheez. Not worth the rookie -> Freijah upgrade.

  11. This week I’m going FOS to Ashcroft and Perryman to Henderson, then I wait on teams.

    If one of Prior/Trainor/Reid gets dropped, I use the money I got from the previous trades to upgrade them to a SDK/Freijah etc.

    If not, then I sideways Short to someone and leave the rest in the bank for future upgrades.

    Then next week I go Patton to Bice and whatever else is needed.

    I also have Flynn but after the ruck performance from Williams and co. I think he comes straight back in, and I’m happy to hold for the best 18 rounds anyway.

    • I’ve done the Gawn > TDK move.
      Was a punt starting him over TDK but that first couple of fixtures should have brought a lot more points, so was worth a pop.
      Easy one now to move to TDK and free up heaps of cash to upgrade elsewhere. It’s basically gonna give me a premo def for Perryman and enable Day > Naicos next week.

    OUT: Gawn, FOS and Stewart

    Max has been disappointing and, okay, has other stuff going on at the moment. FOS is a good player I reckon but his role is awful for SC and unlikely to change soon, and Lindsay is a must. I’ll monitor Stewart’s injury this week but he seems unlikely and the bumps are starting to stack up for him.

    I have lashcroft, nod, knevitt, m reid, campo and Davidson. Not sure if I’m missing some super good cash gen but I felt I needed the points with so many failed premo/mid pricers. Still have to deal with meek and short, fml.

      • FOS is a classic case of why high priced rookies can often be a problem. He is going ok but hie is the ultimate slow burn, only likely to go up $15k over the next three weeks unless he starts pumping out 70-80 plus scores. Tsatas will go up by $46k over his next three games, but that is probably over 5 weeks.

        Depending on your team, there are plenty of lower priced rookies to gain cash by both banking cash this week, and pending price rises.

        Trade out both is an option too.

    • Yeah. Couldn’t have been clearer with Xerri pistol whipping Maxxy. HOs were square but Xerri’s stoppage and ATG stuff is honestly out of this world.

      20 touches, 15 contested at 85%. Fkn crazy.

      The fact Maxxy also didn’t towel Keefe in R1 for a 160+ hurts too. Could’ve offset the 50 points Xerri and TDK (who were in hindsight clearly the go) both have him on him.

      TDK and Xerri look fixture proof. TDK dances around everyone and Xerri steamrolls everyone.

      After Goodwin dogged him in the press conference, I’m almost hoping Maxxy misses this week. Spare me from the BE 180 price drop and I can cook something up next week.

      Gawn and Nank. Smh. What were you thinking, Michael…

Having taken the risk of four rookies in defence and Flynn as ruck 2 to begin the season has me calling “Man the lifeboats!” Flynn may get back in the side this week but he has become Jackson so I don’t end up rocking in a fetal position in the corner crying and babbling endlessly to myself before selection. Have Neale, Serong, Rozee, Oliver and WAshcroft with rookies is it viable to trade WAshcroft (against all reason) so that I am upgrade my backline of Sheezel, Zorko, Short, Roberts, Reid, Paton, Trainor and Leakey Boat, booting the latter to Holmes? Getting in Lindsay and O’Driscoll too. Would rather get 50/60 scores from rookies than Reid and Trainor’s 30 scores. Feel like either of them may also be dropped in the near future. Thoughts?

        I was dead keen on Meek…now, not so much.

        Hold or trade? Feels a bit early to trade him, pletny of time for him to come good.
        But TDK is making eyes at me…

        • Lol.

          I’d just wait.

          Gets Cats and Eagles after the bye. Problem is the Hawks midfield is copping it without Worpel and Day getting attention. Depriving Meek of a lot of CB economy.

  48. Out – sheezle, Garcia, FOS
    In Dale, Smith, lindsey

    Obviously as long as smith plays.
    Normally wouldnt trade sheezle but looks a bit off to me and dale is a beast

    Trade up – good moves
    Trade down – don’t trade sheezle and bad trades

  49. Can only bring in 1 of Lindsay or O’sullivan.
    To get lindsay in, would need to trade either kako or tsatas, or would be paton out for COS. Leaning lindsay purely as will be able to bring bice in defence next week for paton.

    TU- Lindsay
    TD- COS

    • Lock in Paton -> COS and go straight across from Tsatas to Lindsay next week even after price increases? Provided the difference isn’t too much and you’ve got the cash.

      Lindsay does 70 and he’ll be 230k~.

    • Yeah, I’d definitely prioritise being able to bring in Bice next week so Lindsay makes sense this week. Think it’s a weird year where we almost have too many good rookies at this stage so you have to prioritise the must haves and Bice definitely seems that

  50. Already locked in…

    W. Ashcroft -> Callaghan
    Hastie -> X. Lindsay

    Is it worth using a boost to trade Kako -> Henderson?

    Tu – Yes
    Td – No

  52. Already done 2 required trades. Might be changing tack here and going for rookie cash gen over premo points with this Boost trade.

    TU: Perryman > Whitfield/Dale
    TD: Z Reid > C O’Sullivan (and do the Perrymen move next week)

  53. Need some thoughts

    TU – Perryman > Freijah

    TD – Wait a week, use cover for Perryman from bench then get M.Roberts

    Comment if both suck

    Probably Bice next week or upgrade Perryman

    TD FOS Perryman Tsatas > O Sullivan Lash Lindsay + $240k
    Can maybe still get Bice next week for Prior. Upgrade Flynn or Short with the money

    • Would love insight to why people are voting for Tsatas? He had 25 this week and has shown he can get plenty of it. FOS doesn’t seem like an accumulator – surely hold Tsatas for 2 weeks as his cash gen will be more than FOS at this trajectory?

      Am I missing something?

      • I want cash now and not hoping for it later on. He could get dropped or another injury. Bice, NOD, Lindsay are fine but i wouldn’t trade him for any other rookies. As such I need Lindsay so he’s out.

  59. Does the close to returning of both L Jones (and to a lesser degree, J O’Donnell) impact the scoring of both B Dale & Freijah? Wanting to replace Perryman this week.

    TU: B Dale or Freijah still good options regardless
    TD: Find extra cash for Whitfield or Sinclair

    • I don’t get all the hype with Dale at the moment. Yes he has scored great over the last 2 games, however he has done that in the past and had down games too. The community can be very reactive sometimes. Mind you, he has had 2 great early fixtures for defenders. I wouldn’t go chasing the points personally, remember you can’t get the points on the board that he has already scored. My opinion would be go and find the funds to get Whitfield over Dale.

    • Nah. You’re right, Barb.

      O’Connell and Jones distinctly different roles. Jones coming back into the side would, if anything, help Dale.
