  1. People who have Xerri & TDK in their ruck line;

With Xerri’s under par scores the last few weeks, whilst apparently managing ‘hamstring awareness’ and having lower TOG than usual. Albeit, he has come up against some very tough opponents during that period..

And with Pitonnet likely to come back into the side for the blues & effect TDK’s output

Is it just a matter of holding?

Theres not much else setting the world on fire in the rucks, if anything Gawn soon enough in the flex spot?

Would love to hear people’s thoughts, cheers!

    • I have nank and Xerri. With the Darcy/Jackson thing going on and Witt’s being a wash with other two. Gawn is a maybe and Marshall not till later- looks not yet fit to me. Leaves me thinking I’ll put up with floor the two of them have… I think TDK will score better with pittonet than without. Strikes me as a burst player who will be able to dominate around the ground while Pittonet takes care of the ruck contest grind.

  2. Early thoughts?

    Out; Henderson, Davidson & Roberts
In; Cleary, Daicos & Gawn (Flex)

Am I jumping the gun getting a ruckman in my flex spot this early in the season?

      • Hi Stav,

Davidson’s score of 129 vs Carlton drops out of his 3 round average this week. Take that 129 out and his average is 51 with a breakeven of 60 this round. He might have maxed out in value for the time being and his cash might be better used elsewhere. Just my 2 cents.

  5. I am expecting a majority of thumbs down for this proposed trade.
    Out- Roberts, SDK & Oliver
In – Holmes, Daicoas & Gawn

    Let me explain
My captain selections for the last 4 weeks have not scored over a 100.
I have tried Zorko, Xerri and Neale (twice).
I need less midpricers and more potential captain options.
Can’t trust Sheezel and Libba although both solid.
    TDK has tapered off.
I am languishing with a ranking of 66k so I need to do something.

  6. Just want to hear any thoughts on this, is mccluggage going to finish this year as a premium, or is it worth getting zorko as he is cheap now, and has the ability to average 130.

    TU: bring in mccluggage
    TD: bring in zorko
Please reply if you have any other suggestions of a must bring in or will be a premium by the end of the season

Had McCluggage since the the start. My reasoning is he’s a gun, high C B attendance but unlikely to get a tag with Neale in the team. The popularity of taggers this year is a major consideration when choosing premo midfielders.

    • Seeing a lot of people get rid of Davidson and can’t help but feel it’s a little premature. He still has a good role and has the potential to score well. His BE isn’t obscenely high. Did I miss something, an injury perhaps? I remember last year one of my lessons was to hold on to rookies who have good roles even when their BE starts to creep up (last year it was guys like Windsor, Wilson, Reid etc.), and instead get rid of rookies who don’t have the ceiling and scoring potential. If you have guys like Kako, Stone, Leake, Berry etc. you might be better off focusing on upgrading those spots first, or at least getting them down to better cash cows.

      • If it’s about being aggressive and upgrading to a premium, then there is a merit. Because the price raise goes both ways and they may no longer afford the fallen premo if they waited.

  8. My team has become a basket case with Berry, Kako, Stone continuing to score terribly and Hewiit, Camporeale and Tsatas not playing. Berry has now lost money after his 4 last night so probably has to go.

One shining light is I have $335K in the bank. Thoughts on the below would be greatly appreciated, please!

TU – Roberts to NWM and Berry to W.White (Leaves me with $297K)
TD – Roberts to NWM and T.Cochrane (I keep Berry and take the hit..) Leaves me with $329K

    Thanks!

    • Hey mate,

If you have problems with rookies scoring poorly, getting DNPs, and not making money, I would prioritise getting rid of them before getting rid of Roberts. Roberts can still turn it around, and even if he doesn’t, he is at an okay enough price point to be able to upgrade later on. You have $335k in the bank, take advantage of that and use it get rid of those dead rookies. It might be your best chance to do so. Just my two cents!

  13. Fixing some rookies and bringing in Naicos is the plan this week.

Stone / Kako (or Tsatas) / Davidson

    Cleary / Gross / Naicos

Davidson probably has $30-40k more in him. But Naicos under $600k lock and load.

      • With these trades I will have most of the good ones that are available / are not too far gone.

Currently ranked 2k was 850 before this week. So want to be aggressive and try get back in the Top 1k by getting a rookie off field in a week where others may be sitting tight.

I’ll be targeting value next week with Stewart or Trac so Daicos is my priority upgrade this week.

Not so happy DeGoey comes back and takes his mid time.

  24. D: Sheezel, Holmes, Roberts, Short, COS, Bice, Reid, Leake
M: Brayshaw, Merrett, Neale, Oliver, Callaghan, Lindsay, Moraes, FOS, NOD, Tsatas, Hall
    R: Xerri, Meek, Boyd
F: JHF, Macrae, Smith, Daniel, Maric, Davidson, Kako, Stone
    Flex: LAshcroft
    ITB: 70.9k

There is obviously non-playing rookies (i.e. Leake, NOD and Tsatas), and some that are not generating cash all that quickly (i.e. FOS, Stone and Kako). I think some of these need correcting to continue generating cash to adequately upgrade. And then theres the mid-price guys that aren’t going to get to that next level and will need to be upgraded (i.e. Roberts, Short, Oliver, Callaghan).

Cleary is the clear choice to come in this week for Kako. This would not allow an upgrade in the middle, but would allow one of Roberts or Short to be upgraded. I would lean towards Roberts with the role that Bice is playing. I am thinking of Clark or Dale (noting the ups and downs that these guys can have).

    Are the trades worth it:
    OUT: Kako and Roberts
    IN: Cleary and Clark/Dale

    TU: Looks good
TD: Reassess and go back to the drawing board

Comments welcome for suggestions to look elsewhere.

If TD, would McCluggage be a good POD option (I do already have Neale and Ashcroft in the mids though), or Brayshaw (Have Serong already). I’m veering a bit away from Sinclair with his BE at 150, while McCluggage and Brayshaw’s BE is around 80.

    • TD for me:

Stone is playing and who knows might just have a spike score. his DPP is very useful now, using the flex can get either Trainor or Reid on field in defence.

camporeale is annoying, but only needs another couple of games to make nice cash.

Davidon and OS have done their job as cash cows, not much more milk to come, they are gone. welcome Daicos.
