  1. Will be highly dependent on the news of Marshall.. have both he and Grundy

    I just love supercoach

    1. Ice above the ankle. A lumpy run off the ground after a big hit. Didn’t come back on, but they were ahead. Looked to be moving after the game ok, so might be ok.

  2. Likely upgrade JVR when lock-out is done, who is priority from Cogs and Ziebell? Probably have both at the pointy end of season, but who comes in first?

    T/U : Cogs
    T/D : Ziebell

  3. Two options for trades this week, limited choices for a 550k mid after Steele’s score/role

TU Ashcroft to Oliver, Hollands to Weddle
    TD Ashcroft to Lloyd

    1. What was Steele’s role? Didn’t see the game.
Was lining up Ginbey to Steele but maybe I go Ziebell instead.

      1. Wouldn’t be picking up Steel at all even thou I love the way he plays. Ross sent him to Cripps in round 7 and played as a defensive mid. His role will change as will his scoring, so it’s a no from me

  4. Ross said he expects Marshall to play.
Could have come back on but kept him for next week.

    Should play,,,

  5. Who’s the best midfield option under $600k atm excluding Green, Macrae and Merrett?

    1. Can you get to 605k? Anderson channeling serious Bont / Cripps vibes. Big, agile , determined, durable and consistent…. Who would have thought that he’d make Rowell look like a b grader:)

      1. With a trade possibility I was thinking of, I won’t be able to. My first two trades were McKenna and Greene > Weddle and Lloyd. That still leaves me with about $225k left. Then I can upgrade Ashcroft to someone, but I only have $598k. So I can’t get Anderson

        1

        1. Do you maybe have Hollands? Him instead of Greene( whom is leaving for me this week) would get you to Anderson…

        2. Does it have to be a mid?

Can you use DPP to bring in a Forward or Def? Doc looking good at 500k

          2

          0
        3. If you forego Lloyd and brought in Powell, Day or Newman, you could then get Anderson? Powell has the great R12 bye.

  7. RoMo -> Gawn
    Neale -> Dawson

Plan originally was to do a 1U1D and get Steele but he didn’t set North on fire, so happy to press pause with the upgrades and grab Dawson.

Can’t afford to be punished each week by him and Bont. Neale just been an absolute peasant.

Can alternatively get the scratch to get Neale to Dawson without RoMo -> Gawn and just cull a dead rookie but saw when RoMo went down and it didn’t look good.

  8. DEF – Dawson, Daicos, Stewart, Sheezel, McKenna, Wilmot (Mitchell, Constable)
MID – Oliver, Walsh, Merrett, Macrae, Green, Hopper, Ashcroft, Cincotta (Baker, Davey, Johnson)
    RUC – English, Marshall (Madden)
FWD – Taranto, Dunkley, Ziebell, Coniglio, Simpson, Greene (Angwin, Roberts)

    $313k remaining/20 trades/ 2 boost left

TU: Greene, McKenna, Ashcroft > Weddle, Lloyd, Neale/Cerra/Kelly

    1. Hey WW ,I would probably go the t/d option . Just in case Marshall doesn’t come up and you need the boost !

      1

      0
      1. Yeah I ‘m keeping my eye out. I did see the Lyon expects him to play though, so I’m remaining positive on that, possibly even just a short term injury. If Marshall is out for only a week, I’m not wasting a trade on that. I’m more than fine to take a donut if he’s only out for that long.

    2. I could also go Greene, McKenna, Ashcroft > Serong, Lloyd, Drury (via Sheezel to the forward line and Cincotta to the back line)

EDIT – It would be out of Serong, Petracca or Laird

      2

    1. I was going to downvote but then realized that Shrek to Gawn nets you about 100k and should be about even points-wise for the rest of the year.

I also have Ridley and he has to go.

  10. Have the choice of trading out McKenna or Baker this week.

  12. With Ridley/Marshall/Grundy, I’m thinking outside the square a little. Keep Ridley as its only one week, and most of the damage has been done….handy d7/8 at season end.

If Marshall out look to Finlayson as a fwd, keep Marshall, and use dpp to swing Finlayson to ruck via Madden. Could also look at Jackson who is flying, or Soldo/Meek to save cash. Keep Ridley, and hope Gawn doesn’t give away 7 frees !!

    1. Hey SC Mumma, Ridley needs to go, horrid SC role and now has a concussion.

Would love to know if you had a boost. Assuming you don’t:

One of Ginbey / Baker -> Atkins (Reasoning: Bye is magnificent, has a lower BE than Weddle and a much friendlier role, lead KI’s for GC this weekend as well).

      Ridley -> Gulden

      3

      0
      1. Thanks Abs, yes still have 3 boosts left actually. Exactly what I was thinking of doing this week. Ginbey > Atkins and Ridley to Gulden. Would a boost change that for you? I can also potentially do Ridley, Ginbey, Wilmot > Atkins Drury Dawson (unsure if its wise to pay top $$ though).

        0

        0
        1. Wow 3 boosts, can I borrow one ahaha

Nah I like the initial trades. Dawson does make sense, but not for 160k more IMO.

    2. Abs’ moves are good.

If you wanted to race to full premo and take a risk however, you could go:

      Ginbey -> Drury
      Ridley -> Gulden
      Chandler -> Moore/475k DEF/FWD

If there’s anyone at 475k that appeals to you, do it – otherwise Abs’ moves are rock solid.

Great team btw. Still has some strong live CG.

I feel like his scores go down from here.

Only real way for me to get to Dunkley without using a boost as well.

    26
    1. I traded him out after his one low score. Had a 98 b/e and a tough run. Thought it could be genius, or backfire completely. He’s tonned up back to back since. So without doubt one of my worst ever SC decisions. Take it from someone living with pain from self-inflicted stupidity. Don’t do it.

      1. I brought in Sicily last week and wow what a disappointment he turned out to be. Needs to improve his temperament . Hey Abs do you see him as a top 6 defender cause I picked him thinking he could give me some of those big scores like Tom Stewart without the price tag. Haha doesn’t look like it atm.

        1

        0
        1. He’s definitely not Sicily of 2022, but he’s still a keeper. The role isn’t quite right and his usage has been slightly worse, that North game for example if he didn’t have a few early clangers would have been a 140+ score.

Definitely hold, most likely not top 6, but will be top 15 IMO. More than good enough to be a D4-D5.

          4

    1. Not sold on Atkins myself.

Trading in $200k players rarely works. Weller to come back and possibly take his wing role. Who knows where he plays ? 29 years old and has never really been able to hold down a spot. Looks good at times but one bad game, and not only is his cash gen shot, he may find himself back in the two’s.

      5

      1
      1. Atkins HB not wing, FT.

Atkins is a bum, no doubt. But steps on the park this week and he makes 50k @ 200k with a BE -42.

Worst case scenario you drop him right back to Drury and you’ve banked that 50k. His role is soft enough that he can get to 300k.

Not a must have and not for all teams but serviceable.

        2

        1
        1. Yeah still to sold TBH.

His first good score was V Richmond who were woeful. That 68 V Melbourne is more likely what I would expect from him. If you have a heap of trades he maybe worth a look. I could be wrong but I smell a trap.

        1. Lmao, sorry. Thought you were serious and I was like tf.

I didn’t start him because of exactly what happened over the last fortnight but jumped on early because most of the time he’s just dancing around by himself.

  28. Would it be one of those legendary shark moves to trade Daicos before he starts bleeding money and also maybe Ashcroft because he looked tired on Friday night. Good idea T/U=YES Crazy T/D=NO

    2

    10
    1. Trading Daicos could certainly come back to bite. The kid is just too good to stay down for long. He copped a knock the week before and was not really able to run off his opponent this week. He will come good no doubt.

Ashcroft you could trade or hold. He tonned up the week before at the Gabba, so his BE is achievable. He plays the next two at home so I doubt he loses too much cash. Low priority to move on unless you have the cash to get him to an Uber Premo like Oliver.

      1

      1
      1. I love the Daicos trade down move – reminds me of the Big Short and Wolf of Wall Street movies where selling high can win you big. Can’t see other coaches not putting time into him now we’ve seen the result of the past two weeks and that is likely to impact him as a second year player.

        1

        3
        1. Will cop more tags but two things:

          1) Even with 2 low tons he’ll only drop to 560k~, which is still quite steep price to recoup him at.

          2) The Pies still won both when Daicos was tagged. Wasn’t a silver bullet.

Can see, yeah, GWS trying something this weekend and maybe the Blues as well but he’s then got North and West Coast who don’t bother with tagging – or trying for that matter.

Don’t want to be dicking around with a move like that in the thick of upgrade season.

  30. I wasn’t going to trade this week but is it worth getting Rory Atkins in for Wilmot?

Wilmot’s cash generation is dead and Atkins is projected to make 100k in the next 4 weeks which could be crucial for upgrades.

He seems to have the right role while Touk is out and he really helps my R14/15 bye structure.

    T/U Yes, go for it

  31. I have heard the recent hype about Anderson. I don’t really know much about him so I did some research, and boy am I am pleasantly impressed!!

Let me give you some facts
Age 22, so building up to his peak
Taken round 1 pick 2 in 2019 draft, so he is a jet
66 games, in that 50-100 game sweet spot
17 games in first season averaging 77SC
Built his SC average to 86 in 2nd yr, 100 in 3rd yr, 115 this yr,
Not really been injury prone in his career

That is good enough for me.

My trades this week and last boost
    Out McKenna, ginbey, Baker
    In Anderson, R Atkins, drury

TU yes do it, Anderson will go onto being a top 8 mid and Atkins will make a lot of cash

TD no don’t waste boost, Anderson isn’t that good

    Comments welcome please

    3

    6
    1. Or just do 2 trades, ie forget Anderson and just do OUT McKenna, ginbey, IN Mills/Steele +98k ITB

      TU yes saves a boost
TD no do the Anderson 3 trade (above) and use boost

      6

      3
    2. The biggest plus for Anderson is his friendly bye.

If you’ve avoided much of the carnage and have spare trades then get him. If you haven’t then it’s probably worth getting someone from the bargain bin

      1

      0
    3. I think Anderson is now a points paid pick at 600k.

Hard to justify 600k unless your CG is absolute fire and you already have Bont, Dawson and Tingles.

      2

      0
    1. Neither, Jake.

Steele didn’t back it up v North and given his heinous start you absolutely need to see more from Brayshaw before moving on him.

  32. Just wanted to take a minute to point out FT has had Anderson for the last fortnight. What a god.

Over the years he’s gone for some ridiculous PODs (which I too have jumped one) but Anderson has just been a master-stroke. Well done!

    8

    0
    1. In hindsight, we should have all jumped on when Touk went down. Question now is; will he continue on like this when Touk comes back and when does Touk come back?

      1

      2
      1. I had both Touk and Anderson for a week. I just loved Andersons trajectory, fixture and Bye. I never thought he could quite go this well.

The flip side is I also traded in Rachele ( 29 last week ) as I liked his CBA’s he has since lost those CBA’s to Keays when he tagged Daicos. Then last week to Soligo. He goes this week to Gulden.

        3

    2. Anderson is killing me. I started him and traded him out after round 3, wasnt looking right with a 93,91 and then 71 . Hes averaged about 130 since! Luckily my trade in Serong has been more than serviceable.

      1. Yep, thought so.
        In that case
        TU Zeibell
        TD Sinclair
It kills me that I had Zeibell and traded him out to get Setterfield round 4, once again overthinking things Was worried with Hall coming in and taking his points, turns out that it frees Zeibell up.

    T/U – Anderson

    T/D – Andy Brayshaw

    1. McKenna better role, Wilmot works harder.

On paper, trade out Wilmot. Can so see McKenna being a slob and scoring 40 again though.

      2

      1
    2. Personally doing McKenna because

      1. McKenna is worth more so gets you more cash, Wilmont is worth less and should maintain this price going forward

      2. Wilmont has DPP so can be used to easily cover multiple lines. Also I have Tyler young as a dead def rookie so having 2 D only rookies is unappealing to me

      2

      2. Rich is out so McKenna has a better role at the moment. Could drop another 80+ score. I would say this is less likely from Wilmont.

  35. Thought it was Neale -> Dawson or a 1U1D upgrade but you know what, actually considering a straight up rookie refresher trade.

Atkins and Weddle in. Don’t really rate either but be good to get some live CG through and keep Drury for next week.

    1. Think Bytel might be a better rookie refresh than Atkins, if he can get named in the 22 this week. Another contributor highlighted Bytel in another thread and I think it’s a good shout. Worth a look

    1. Only for the fact he allows you to go Drury next week.

Won’t make a bunch of cash and would never want him on field, but saves going early on Drury and keeps him ready for next week.

  36. If Romo out, I’m thinking hold, and upgrade Jackson to f6. Dpp allows me to cover Romo via Madden, and it means two rucks on field for three byes. Jackson looking to have hit his straps at Freo, and of course Darcy will go down at some stage.

TD) Parish this week, Steele or Mills next week. Field McKenna this week.

    1. I’ll be covering this in extent tomorrow on Fallen Premiums.

If I was bringing one of them in this week, it would be Steele.

  39. Is it too late to swap out LDU? Am I better just holding?

Was looking to go McKenna, Ashcroft, LDU-> Anderson, Stewart, Weddle. Last Boost.

Unfortunately still leaves me with Mitchell D6, Wilmott M7, Cinc M8, Chandler F6 and Simpson F6.

  40. Can somebody please convince me to hold Neale. I have done too many sideways trades as it is. Take out his 76 & 63 and it’s not so bad yes?

    1. If you trade him to a premo cheap enough to get your 100-150k value for a trade I say go for it.

You don’t have many good options though

      1. Neale has an amazing four week run. I’m considering trading into him despite his breakeven

  41. So Lachie Wittfield….

Has tonned up twice in a row, and has a really strong run of games leading up to/during the byes.

  43. What does everyone think about this trade?

    Out: McKenna, Ashcroft, Chandler
    In: Doc, Finlayson, Dury

Doc has been scoring well since his injury return and is bargain basement. Finlayson has a great role and is ruck cover.

  44. In- N. Anderson, R. Atkins, Drury.
    Out- Chandler, van Rooyen, Cowan.

  45. Thinking of doing the unthinkable and trading out Nick Daicos.

It’s not because I think his scoring is going to fall off a cliff, I still think he will easily be a top 6 defender but I do think his scoring is going to level out with the extra attention he may be getting each week.

It’s what I can do with the cash.

Out: N Daicos, Oskar Baker, Van Rooyen

In: Noah Anderson, Andrew Brayshaw, Drury.

I had both Anderson and Brayshaw for most of the pre season but late changes meant I didn’t start either so I am happy to trade them both in now they have found form.

Leaves me with 3 rookies (McKenna, Ashcroft, Chandler) on field plus 2 mid pricers (Chayce Jones, Setterfield) to upgrade. It also helps even out my bye round structure.

Bench Cover is good and cash gen should be OK:

    Defence: Mitchell, Cincotta
    Mids: Wilmot, Drury, Constable
    Ruck: Ratugolea
    Fwds: Simpson, Angwin

This would leave me with 16 trades, 62k ITB and zero boosts.

I would then plan not to trade again before the byes unless a cow needed to be culled or a must get fallen premo comes along.

    T/U Do it

    T/D Are you nuts!!!

    1. Why trade a player out who you think is going to be a top 6 defender? Doesn’t make sense.
Anderson averages 97 with Miller and 166 without. I’d be worried he doesn’t continue this scoring when Miller comes back in, in a few weeks.

  46. Ashcroft and JVR to Weddle and tossing up between Petracca or Stewart.
Could go Walsh but might I’ll wait to see if he gets forward status, plus fixtures aren’t that good for the blues coming up.
    Got 650k to spend.

  48. Have a Jordan Ridley sized problem to deal with this week which how I deal with will shape my next few weeks. Currently have $245k ITB.

TU: Ridley to Atkins, Ashcroft/Callaghan & Ginbey to 2 midfield premiums ($1.1M to spend)
TD: Ridley to Sinclair or Ziebell, 1 upgrade in the midfield (500k to spend)

    1. Also which would you rather?
      TU Brayshaw (FREO)
      TD Cogs
Need a low price “premium” Think Brayshaw might have turned a corner and playing some good footy last 2 games and in 10% of teams. Cogs is safer pick in 30% of teams but is a nervous watch coz his scoring can be a rollorcoaster!

  49. McKenna & JVR for Drury and
    TU : Stewart – AV 106.4 with BE 120
    TD : Powell – AV 102 with BE 51

Both with good R12 bye, Powell $77,500 cheaper…but I don’t know anything much about Powell except he has a 3 game average of 124

    2

    1
    1. Stewart is a top 6 def, and Powell probably isn’t. If you are looking for cash gen then Powell. If you are looking for someone long term then Stewart.

  50. Not seen a lot posted about Davis- Uniacke of late. Perhaps because I’m the only one to have held him in the hope he might turn it around and other past owners have moved on long ago! I certainly regret trading him in on the cusp of his downward trajectory in recent weeks.

My dilemma is now I’ve traded Ridley and Fergus Green already this week, I need to prioritise who to use my boost on, as Ive got other rookies up for the cull. Only used one boost so far but time to get busy and pull the tigger and get my flagging team back on track!

    Choices are…

TU Trade Davis- Uniacke to Noah Anderson or similar

TD Hold LDU in the hope he’ll come good and trade McKenna, Wilmott or Ashcroft to Atkins or Weddle

    3
  51. T/U : McKenna OUT for Stewart IN (Ashcroft on field)
    OR
T/D : Ashcroft OUT for Dawson IN (McKenna on field)

Either trade still has Sheezel, Cincotta, Chandler & Simpson on-field plus one of the above rookies.
