      Rd 5-8 Disp 18.5 with 8 CP, 4 CL and 2 tackes
The coached pumped him up before Rd 5…what happened?

  1. I think I will be able to get this done.
    Out Salem, Sanders & Davidson
    In Holmes, Warner and Husthwaite

I can’t believe I got tucked in to Salem AGAIN.
Sanders will get bugger all midfield time with Bont & Treloar back. Davidson has served his purpose.
Holmes is a better player than recently showing. Disappointing that Warner popped of this week instead of next and Husthwaite looks good for a rookie ( at least for 2 more weeks).
Of course all of the above will be chucked out if Flynn gets dropped

    • Bice (85) -> Sinc (110) = +25

Any upgrade involving Bice to atleast a defender not really that much of a net on points.

I’d be getting my lowest scoring OF rookies up first.

      Bice BE still only 77.

    • Not big on Dawson yet, was rolled forward heaps and that was partly why he scored so well (3 goals), but don’t expect that every week. His DE did improve however, which are good signs. I’d like to see a longer stretch of form before bringing him in.

      • Disagree w this.

He had team high CBAs amongst the Crows heavy rotations, which they’ve done all year.

Heatmap purely in the middle of the ground and only 4 possesions in the FWD half of the ground.

Only one of his three goals was from deep I50. Other two were on 50 and came into possession in open play.

So wouldn’t at all say he was “rolled FWD heaps”.

His use, yeah, remains an issue but don’t see how waiting changes that. Suggestion to wait for form makes no sense; he’s a dog of a kick. That’s not changing.

It’s a fundamental issue with his game and the whole enchilada w Dawson.

Either you’re in and accept the ride that his DE will be or you’re not.

I’m ambivalent either way but need to be clear on why.

        • Crouch looks like he might be out for a decent period, he was the one who was messing up the midfield at the crows because he can only play one position.

Peatling isn’t getting the midfield minutes i expected (dodged that bullet)

Laird is nowhere near the guts anymore

It seems like Dawson, Rankine & Solingo are the 3 bannas.

Rankine is more likely to go forward than Dawson

    • Been eyeing him for a while, Derek.

Problem is he’s playing the games of his life, finding heaps of it but for only 119, 106 and 113. And that’s off 30, 36 and 32 touches.

      Just not enough. No ceiling.

have watched a few collingwood games, and it seems like he is racking it up. Only looked at his scores last week and were surprised he wasn’t scoring better

I was tossing up last week to go Josh for a Oliver replacement (swing him to defence later), decided on callaghan because Josh’s BE wasn’t as low. Still have my eye on him

    • I got him in last week with a BE of 45 so off to a good start. Collingwood is a top team, I can’t see him getting tagged and he’s only had 1 bad game statistically. I’d put him in the NVM category- consistent scorer but perhaps not pumping out a huge Sinclair/Whitfield score

        • I’m considering fallen premos Ryan and Flanders. At this stage leaning more towards Flanders as my theory is he’s been eased back more from injury and is now hopefully going to have more mid time, whereas Ryan is more form and change of Freo gamestyle. I need to offload Prior and would rather upgrade, hence I’ll likely go Flanders this week

  3. Early, early thoughts

Two to go out of SPP, Flynn and Bice. Not sure who survives there.

Hustwaite is a no-brainer. Possibly looking at a Lions mid for the upgrade – is Will Ashcroft still a viable option for M8? Only really had one off game this year and that drops out of the cycle this week, where he plays North.

    • I reckon Washcroft is a keeper, can’t see him getting tagged in a hurry.

Yeah Flynn is frustrating, I took out Z Reid via DPP for him and that’s looking like a wasted trade. At least he’s made some money but you’d expect he’ll struggle to retain his place this week

  6. Went early on Hustwaite so it means I need to go early on another rookie this week, which isn’t ideal but oh well. Trade one is basically locked in:

Prior OUT -> Boxshall (Mid Rookie) IN (via DPP)

But my in is going to be hard, so much value around this week! Need help deciding between 4 underpriced guns, and I can see arguments for each. Who do I upgrade to out of these four?

    T/U: W. Ashcroft
    T/D: Callaghan

Can technically afford any player so comment if there’s any other targets. Don’t want to get butters or bont at peak price, but happy to hear arguments to the contrary, I do need a points boost this week.

    My team is below:

    DEF: Sheezel, J Clark, Z Reid, L Cleary, C.Stone, M Carroll (O McDonald, J Leake)

MID: Butters, Bont, N Daicos, Serong, Dawson, Cerra, Maric, LAshcroft (Moraes, Hall, Gross)

FWD: Petracca, Rankine, B Smith, Macrae, C Daniel, M Hall (S Davidson, T Edwards)

    FLEX: X Lindsay

23 trades, two boosts left ($144k in bank)

Obviously defence is the focus – looking at something like:

    OUT: Cleary, Stone and Davidson
IN: Whitfield/Sincs, DEF rookie and Hustwaite in with Ashcroft coming forward

I tried workshopping a few things to see if you could get two 450k DEFs in but you can’t.

Keep Cleary. Not sure how/why you have McDonald.

Davidson -> Hustwaite (via Ash DPP)
      Stone -> Sinclair
      Carroll -> Fonti (pending sheets)

From there your DEF is: Sheezel, Sinclair, Clark, Reid, Cleary & Fonti and you have 23 playing.

Best you’re gonna do I reckon.

I’m a Carlton fan and don’t select any Blues so I can enjoy the games without thinking about SC, but I’d wait and see how TDK goes even if Pitto is named.

    • Yeah, I mean BJ wouldn’t have done any better.

Flynn is a low attribute ruckman who goes for it. So, naturally, when he misses the HO or first take, the opposing ruck mops up and it’s a bad look.

Why I’m worried he could be dropped is we’ve been very choppy and erratic with team selection this year, thinking it’ll change anything.

      Keep if he plays.

With A. Reid potentially down and out, both Flynn and BJ could play.

I was surprised we didn’t actually go for it against Max to begin with. Could be preference against it, idk.

    • Nothing to do w Flanders, he’s still irrelevant for the minute.

Rowell just genuinely in some poor form.

6/15 contested and 8/16 the week before.

So getting neither the easy or hard touches.

11 CBAs yesterday, not team high (18~) but assuming that was definitely an anomaly.

If he were higher in price it’d maybe be permissible to sideways/luxury, but where can you really go without wasting too much upgrade money?

      Down to Warner? Pocket 35k?

I’d probably just hold tbh. Work on rest of your team.

These were always the problems with trading Rowell in early: season long consistency, low floor and no real ceiling to balance it out.
