Tuesday Poll : General

A quick one to answer Slats Attack‘ s question on what the community’s thoughts are on trading in The Bont and/or Butters early and trying to get a leg up on the oppo. Is it worth paying up the big bucks now, or waiting till they level out, an occurrence that may not even eventuate. Following the yes/no poll, vote on which one would be your preference.

Should we consider trying to get either Bont or Butters in early ?

Moving to the other end of the scale, Stonks has posed the question of viable or not, bubble boys, and what do we do if they don’t emerge in the team sheets this week.

As at time of writing Oscar McDonald ($119k def) is the most traded in player with nearly 19k coaches snapping him up. Whilst the figures are good for him in his two games leading to a minus 64 BE which, with another 70, will see him rise another $60k, I would pass as I don’t feel he will add too many games to make the money you need because he is playing the Luke Jackson role right now. That said, the only other bubble boy comes in the form of the Dees recruit, Tom Fullarton ($119k fwd) with a BE of 9 and not the impressive scores that say “pick me”. Is there a world in which Aaron Francis comes onto the radar as an overpriced but mature aged rookie ($214k def) given he’s on a mini run of form at the Swans with a couple of 70s and still has a BE of -16 ?

Do we consider Oscar McDonald a worthy trade in despite looming spectre of Luke Jackson?

This leads us to consider the option of going early on a player we think might be the goods despite us not getting a second look. As of now, over 14k have included Henry Hustwaite ($121k mid) so it obviously suits their trade plans. Jed Busslinger ($119k def) of the Dogs is also in the list of top ten trade ins thus far, but with a BE of -8 probably will not be a great cash cow. Campbell Gray, ($119k def/fwd) one of the Tigers high draft picks, showed a bit and some may prioritise his DPP for future trade flexibility, despite his modest BE of just 8. Ollie Wiltshire, the Cat’s ($119k fwd/mid) also debuted, but with no fanfare. Two subs made their debuts for their respective clubs (Narkle and McDonald) but I don’t think we should be considering them just to facilitate a trade.

This week, do you think it's worth going early on a rookie to facilitate your trades in a 1 up 1 down?

And finally, Lisa wants to know how many trades you have used bye end of round seven, and I would like an indication of who is trading this week leading into round eight.

  1. With Cerra on a possible 1 match suspension and hold no trades to a one down ( Kako to Buslinger via dpp) And Cerra to Neale
