Game Chat – Fremantle v Richmond

Written by Thommo on February 19 2016

WHERE AND WHEN?

Rushton Park, Mandurah, WA at 7:10pm

THE BURNING QUESTIONS

Fremantle: How will the Dockers structure their midfield this season and who will kick the goals?

Richmond: Will the Tigers start fast and save Hardwick’s bacon? Probably not a question that will be answered today!

SUPERCOACH WATCH

Fremantle: I’m watching both Sam Collins in defence and how much time Fyfe and Barlow spend in the midfield.

Richmond: Nathan Broad is the main man for the my Tiger watch list although I’ll be keeping an eye on Townsend, Conca and mature age rookie, Marcon.

Who’s on your watch-list today?

  1. Half-time notes:
    – Fyfe, still on the bench but is HUGE, so I think will make my team without even playing
    – Walters has been playing off half back and did really well in the 1st qtr when Freo had the wind, went a bit quiet in the second when Tigers has the gale wind.
    – Ballentyne has come off with suspected hammy, possibly 3-4 weeks
    – Barlow has been playing middle but has admitted to blowing up after 10 mins. After conditioning, should be ok, but looks very slow. 15p’s
    – Big 211 killing it against 0 opposition
    – Weller could be going to have a breakout year
    – Conca has been getting a bit of the ball
    – Richmond’s ‘new’ game plan of going from half back to full back might not be the ideal way to score
    – The second Sudanese player to make it looks promising in a similar way to Majak, tall, can jump and catch, but very lightly build so maybe another pre-season of gym work away.
    – Menadue has caught the eye a couple times and is a real good outside runner
    – Vickery has copped a knock and off halfway through the second. Still looks like he has no idea where he is meant to play on the ground and that was before the knock… he should be looking at the archives of david mensch to see how he can play a role. Big Menschy was brilliant at going for a mark and tapping it to a player running past, usually Ronnie Byrnes!
