Game Chat – Western Bulldogs V Hawthorn

Written by Thommo on April 10 2016

Venue:  Etihad Stadium at 3:20pm

Last time:

R3, 2015, Hawthorn 19.13 (127) d Western Bulldogs 8.9 (57) at Aurora Stadium.

Top SC scorers from last match:

  • Western Bulldogs: Talia 107, Minson 95, Jong 93
  • Hawthorn: Hodge 177, Roughead 173, Birchall 128

Ins/Outs:

Western Bulldogs

  • In: Jong
  • Out: Dunkley (Om.)

Hawthorn

  • In: Shiels
  • Out: Howe (Om.)

Game notes: The Doggies haven’t defeated the Hawks since 2010 but today provides their best opportunity after a red-hot start to the season. The Hawks regain Liam Shiels but are still without Hodge, Roughead and Hill and the older players aren’t getting any quicker. If the Hawks can’t slow the game down the Doggies will run rings around them on the fast Etihad surface. Can everyone’s favourite second team start the year 3 and 0?

Thommo’s tip: I’m keeping the faith! Hawks by 18 points.

While we do our best to update posts with end of quarter scores, we aren’t always online so if you have access to the scores and see they haven’t gone into the Comments section of this post, the Community would love it if you could help us out.

    1. Indeed – I had an awful round of trades as well – Libba and Kennedy gave me a combined 118 between them…

    2. I thought about bringing JJ in but I wanted to see how he goes against decent side. I did my Barlow>Hall trade instead

  6. Great game to watch but Murphy going down in the last minute broke many Bulldogs supporters hearts, fingers crossed for Bob.

  7. Is a cheap (in 2-3 rounds) Jordan Lewis finished as a SC prospect – based on being a fallen premium at say 420K? Long in the tooth, slow or playing a non SC friendly role?

    1. He didn’t score so badly over the first 3 rounds? Wouldn’t take him though. Had him last year. Frustrating ‘cos he needs 48 touches to reach a ton with his DE
