Hurn and Whitfield are heading up towards $600k, Cripps is about to fall after a hard tag and Balta is finally generating some cash. Who comes in this week? Who goes out?

  1. Thinking Williams to Whitfield. GWS will give us the run around and even if he does come back sooner than expected he’ll have limited duties and low TOG.

Anyone know Whitfield’s B.E and price drop after that 170 v Carlton?

    1. Whitfield should be priced in the high 550’s, BE around 120 based on my suspect mental arithmetic

Will know for sure in an hour or so

    2. bad idea – depending on trades and bye structures … Williams is at worst a D6 I think … will be interesting to see how the other current top D’s will continue to score

Not sure Rich stays in top 6 … Stewart and Ryan will also be interesting …

  2. Waiting on Danger and Williams to see how serious they are. But looking at a double upgrade this week regardless with 21 trades and 521K in the bank.

  3. Walsh and Gibbons out
Lloyd and someone in. No idea who the someone is, may have to play chicken with the Josh Glenn rule

  4. Anyone inform how many weeks roughly will danger zac williams be out for and people thoughts on baker getting dropped for butler what you guys reckon

    1. If you’ve had Goldy this long, may as well wait till after Grundy has his bye? Field Goldy that week and trade him the following week when North have the bye

  5. Duursma>Whitfield
Constable>Whichever rookie’s blood sacrifice will do come Thursday team selection.

      1. Came in for Webster who should be back soon. Will take a long term injury to Wilkie or Battle for Marsh to secure a spot. Was trialled as a fwd earlier in the year but seems to have moved back to def.

  6. Parker has to go but only 120k in the bank, raises many questions. There has to be a downgrade and with no players really on the bubble, it may be taking a large risk and going early on a player. A FWD upgrade is definitely needed as 3 rookies on the field killed me this week, but these FWDs are so hard to pick. Going to be a nightmare week

    1. Totally agree…those Carlton rookies in particular look in trouble. And if Moore out again…..(buries head under doona !!)

  7. Bite the bullet and trade out Williams for Hurn and then roll Parker for R.Young for the $$ heading into next week

    3

  8. Duursma > To some rookie, may have to pick a one-gamer (as long as he plays next weekend as well)
    Walsh > Fyfe

  9. This week – Parker to Young, Baker to marshall/worpel
Next week – Rob for Fort, Constable for J.Kelly/premo mid
    TU: Good
    TD: Bad

  10. Not sure if this is worth but I need the league win and thinking of going;
Williams to Lloyd then b Smith to Whitfield
Is it too early to upgrade these 2 or should I go for it ?

    6

    8
    1. Ideally you’d upgrade rookies before Williams and Smith, however trading in the clear top 2 defenders is hard to resist.

  11. My trades at this stage:

    ROB and Duursma OUT

    R. Young and Yeo IN

Unfortunately I had to go early on a rookie (unless Hately is named by some miracle), but I get a super in-form POD for my mids, and leaves me with a little bit of cash in the kitty to go one up one down next week to get Whitfield in.

  12. Think I’ll be taking the week off with trading, gotta thank the community for talking me into accepting the donut on the weekend, trading to Bolton would’ve been a waste. Forts byes a bugger may have cashed in O’Brien early otherwise. Will want to do a double downgrade with the likes of Ross, Atkins, Gibbons and Drew but I cant see anything viable at this stage. Will have to wait for team selections.

  13. Tough one this week.
Hore and Duursma to a rookie and Whitfield

Or Gibbons and Parker out before they start bleeding cash

Not many rooks to pick from so looking at going early either way.

On a side note, Sicily and Boak looking like they will be nicely priced after their bye

    1

    4
  14. Thoughts on downgrading ROB to fort next week? Or shall we wait until after the bye so we can field ROB whilst Gawn & Grundy share the same bye week..

    7

    11
    1. Looking at Adelaide’s injury list from last week, it stated the Jacobs is 1-2 weeks away from returning so if Adelaide decide to put him straight into the lineup when he is fit this could mean ROB might not play round 13 when both Grundy and Gawn have their bye. If Fort cements his spot in Geelong’s side then it is worth consideration.

  15. Wilkie > Garner
    AND
    Duursma > Tom Stewart
    OR
    Dahlhaus > Neale

    TU: Tom Stewart
    TD: Neale

    Cheers

  16. Could be chaos this week with few downgrade options and so many badly performing rookies likely to be dropped. I’m not even thinking about trades this week until Thursday.

    13

    1. Youngs JS would be better. Garner had pretty good debut for Port as did Hinge for the Lions.

  17. Craploads of rookies ready to mature want to here prognosis on williams first before i make my moves.

Duursma, Scrimshaw, Atkins, Constable, Drew, Petru, Walsh, Rob all readyish to be moved

      1. Just got doubts that ROB will be around by Rd 13 with Sauce named as only 1-2 weeks away last week. Don’t reckon he makes much more cash from here either.

        7

        0
  18. Trading out Wilkie and Drew for Hurn and Young

    TU: Good trades
    TD:Bad Trades

    Or Lloyd over Hurn?

    14

    2
    1. Abbot would be the one to go out wouldn’t he? He was the late in replacement for Stanley.

      3

      0
      1. Fort came in for Ratugolea who was managed this week. You would think that Fort would be able to get another game at least but Geelong could swap him back out for Raugolea

        3

        0
  19. J Macrae in for T Atkins via ROB money which will give me a midfield of:
    L Neale, J Kelly, N Fyfe, C Oliver, J Macrae, Z Merrett, R Sloane and S Walsh.

    8

    0
      1. Just need Cripps to finish it off so hopefully with a high break-even I can grab him in the coming rounds for less than 570,000 replacing S Walsh. Happy that I was able to grab all of these below 600,000 expect for L Neale, N Fyfe and C Oliver with C Oliver the only one costing more than 620,000.

        3

        0
        1. You’ve got it all planned out, nicely done.

I’ve got no idea what to do at this point, no good downgrade options and Williams and Danger are likely to miss this week at a minimum.

          1

    1. How’s your DEF & FWDs looking? If they’re anywhere as impressive as your MIDS, I’m super jealous!

      1

      0
      1. Def: R Laird, L Whitfield, B Smith, Z Williams, M Hore, X Duursma
        Ruck: B Grundy, T Goldstein
        Fwd: P Dangerfield, I Heeney, T Kelly, J Westhoff, D Moore, L Baker

Starting J Darling and T Greene in conjunction with poor cash gen due to bypassing Rozee, Miers and Stack and having B Scott (traded out early), C Burgess, etc and only gaining approx 120,000 from trades means I only have 17 left.

Will be trading heavy over the next month to turn Duursma, Hore, Moore, Baker and Walsh into S Hurn/L Ryan, J Lloyd, P Cripps, J Dunkley/D Mundy and R Gray.

        3

        0
          1. Thanks. Will be able to bring in J Lloyd next week for Duursma but after that I might need to downgrade L Baker/D Moore to free up some cash as my bench rookies will be very poor.

            1

            0
          2. Def: Lloyd, Whitfield, Laird, Salem, Dursma, Hore (Answerth, Burgess)

Mid: Cripps, Macrae, B.Crouch, M.Crouch, Rocky, Sheed, Walsh, Stack (Setterfield, Scott, Stocker)

            Ruck: Grundy Gawn

Fwd: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Boak, Dunkley, Balta, (Young, Moore)

            0

            0
      1. Assuming you’re talking about the trade of Duursma to Lloyd which will likely be funded by trading my M9 Constable to rookie next week freeing up approx 230,000 as well as 80,000 lying around from my current trades of ROB and Atkins to Young and Macrae.

        1

  20. Who do you think is a better trade in this week:
    TU: J.Lloyd
    TD: L.Whitfield

Plan on getting both before byes start.. just a question of who I should go after first..

    9

    15
  21. Is this trade worth it? If I trade Gibbons instead of O’Brien I have 520k and there’s no good fallen mid premos at the moment so I’m thinking this.

    TU
    Drew > R Young
    R O’Brien > Gawn
    No money left

My other option is a double downgrade

    TD
    Drew > Young
    Gibbons > Atley (Port rookie)
    $410k in bank

    9

    6
    1. Best time to do the O’Brien to Gawn trade is at his bye round just after Gawn has had his.

      8

  22. What are people’s thoughts on Rupert Wills as a downgrade. What’s his job security like?

Thinking, Drew down to Wills and Duursma to Hurn/Lloyd.

    0

    9
    1. I reckon Wills has very shaky JS with the likes of De Goey, Adams, Sier (managed through VFL) all looming as players that would replace him. De Goey should be back this week whilst the other two are 1-2 weeks away.

      3

  23. Hi guys, thinking of downgrading Stack to Hately if named, and upgrading Hore to Whitfield. Will give me 2 more players playing Rd 13. Holding Williams even if he has a week off but downside is I only have Clark, Answerth and Burgess to cover him. Thoughts?

    1

    5
    1. At the very least give ROB another week so you can safely go down to Fort, some people are planning on holding him till his bye.

      3

      1
  24. Hi SCT’ers 🙂

No one talking about Kane Farrell(216k FWD) from port? I have not seen him play and wondered if anyone could enlighten me on how he has been playing? 86 is good going in the wet against the Suns.

Do you think it is a worth while trade for Moore so I can turn Collins into Whitfield?

    Cheers

  25. Thoughts on these trades

ROB out Bines back to R3 (have Lycett for bye cover)
Hately to mids if named or Young fwd (go a week early)

2nd out would be either Duursma or Clarke for Lloyd.
Will have to field the one I hold if Williams is not named but could loop with Answerth
    So,

    TU: trade Duursma
    TD: trade Clark

    Thanks coaches

  26. Thinking of committing the cardinal sin and going a week early…but on hinge, not young. Thoughts on:

    Duursma/Libba out . Hinge/Macrae in.
    T/U or T/D

  27. Hey guys, haven’t really seen anyone mention this so thought id see peoples opinions, I am very confused as to why people are trading Walsh, he has a really good run up until his bye and is very capable of averaging 90-100 in those games which is just under premo numbers and if he does average that he wont bleed any cash, for me i’m trading elsewhere to make cash for the likes of Whitfield and the main promos people are bringing in this week.
    TU: Everyone should be holding
TD: Time to move him on

    18

    6
    1. Starting to bleed cash and even though he is averaging 90, he hasn’t scored more than that for a month. Amazing player for his age, but he is only 18 and might need a rest soon.
It really depends on your structure but if trading him gets you to a genuine premium mid, then it seems like a good option.

  28. Saints fans: is Rowan Marshall’s job security now well-established, or could Alan Richardson still throw a spanner in the works?

    6

    0
    1. I’m saying nothing as I don’t want to jinx him. What I will say is that I bought him last week as a keeper.

      3

      0
  29. Brandon Ellis and Bachar Houli both have a history of premium scoring, and both had a poor 2018. Both are also having a good 2019 so far. Personally, I’d be more inclined towards Ellis, because he is younger, and much, much more durable, but I think for the price (mid-400s), both are at least worth a look.

TU: I like it. You could do a lot worse.
    TD: You’re nuts.

    10

    8
    1. Leftfield … why not.
Look at Toby Greene too if you want risk/reward. GWS have one of the easiest fixtures in the comp from here!

      1

      0
      1. My biggest issue with Greene is that he’s injury-prone – not an issue with Ellis.

        2

        0
      2. Seriously considering this….Walsh out to pasture, setterfield to mid bench, then get Greene.

        0

        1
  30. Given hately gets named im contemplating these options, rocky is stupidly discounted for his output. Cheers lads

    TU: Stack>Hately
    Walsh>Macrae

    TD: J. Clark>Garner
    Constable>Rockliff

  31. My team suddenly has so many holes in it that I am considering renaming my team to Swiss Cheese@SCT
Hoping that selection on Thursday night is kind to me.
Constable to play – tick – more likely than unlikely
Drew to play – tick – more unlikely than likely
Dangerfield to play – tick – more unlikely than likely (why risk him?)
Williams – how many weeks- just one – tick but more unlikely than likely
In addition to the above I am struggling to have 18 players on field for round 12 at the moment.
My trades this week stand at:
    Out – Ross & Drew
    In – Stocker and Sloane
Would have liked to have kept Drew for his DPP but it was a toss up between sacrificing he or Lycett so I can get the 18 on field for round 12
    t/up Good trades
    t/dwn Bad trades

    4

    5
  32. 19 trades left, with players like O’Brien and Walsh reaching their maximum, and a couple of non – serious injuries to Williams and Coniglio.
T/U – Coniglio and Williams > Neale and Hurn
T/D – Coniglio and Walsh > Macrae and Sloane
Have 250k in the bank, and may only use one trade upgrading Coniglio to Neale or O’Brien to Gawn.
    Thoughts?

    4

    1
  33. UPGRADE PARKER TO MCRAE MOVE MUNDY BACK TO FORWARD LINE
REMAINING 20 TRADES ONLY 8K IN BANK.
    WORTH DOING?

SHOULD I SPEND MONEY ON LLOYD INSTEAD AND A MID DOWNGRADE AS THERE IS NO FWDS?

    2

    2
  34. Time to roll out the trades. One up one down as going to hold Williams/Danger and hope Cogs is back this week.

Hurn and R Young in for Duursma or Scrimshaw and Drew.

    T/U Looks good do it.
T/D Look at moving Williams/Cogs or Danger if all three are out

    3

    1
    1. If you held over the last 2 weeks then you should probably hold till his bye. Could hit his 106 BE v St Kilda and get his cash generation going again.

  35. 18 Trades, 161k in bank, ranked 472

Hurn, Lloyd, Whitfield, Williams, B Smith, Hore (Duursma, Answerth)

Neale, Cripps, Fyfe, Macrae, M Crouch, B Crouch, Walsh, Constable (Stack, Atkins, Ross)

    Gawn, Goldstein (ROB)

Kelly, Daniel, Dangerfield, Moore, Baker, Corbett (Petruccelle, Bines)

    What should I do?

    0

    0
    1. First off, terrific work so far! #472, very nice.

Hard to give you advice until we have some clarity around Williams and Danger, TK.

That said, you could do a probably do a one down, one up set of trades or just one a downgrade to add to your war chest going into the byes.

      3

      0
  36. Looking at going early on both trades giving me $438 in the warchest.
    ROB > Fort
Parker (no chance of making his BE) > Young

Whilst this sounds ludicrous next week I will be able to double down to
    Hore > Lloyd
    Petrecelle > Boak

    Risk v reward.

    6

    1. Does rob/fort screw your rd13 bye ? What is fort js ? Has Boak already shown us his best….been down on his early form in recent weeks.

  37. Hold both Williams and Crouch? Coverage is Answerth and probably a one game rookie :/

    TU: Holllllllllld
TD: Trade crouch based on not a top 10 mid?
    Comment for Williams

    9

    0
    1. Cogs is a borderline top 8 mid with an average of 100-110. Walsh will average 90 at best. No brainer.

      1

      0
  38. 258k in bank. What’s the priority?

TU Neale via dpp for ROB
    TD Lloyd for Duursma

    3

    0
  39. If Rotham is named for Jetta this week is he worth getting for Duursma? I know his JS is poor but all rookies are amd he has one of the best BEs…

    TU pick up
    TU don’t pick up

    0

    4
  40. How is everyone looking for the dreaded R13 ?? If you have both Grundy and Gawn, it might mean donuts somewhere. This week’s most popular downgrades, Fort, Hinge, Baker all have the r13 bye. If Fort sits on the pine, that’s not so bad, but presumably he would mostly come in for ROB who plays r13.
    Decisions !!
