Overall Votes
Entrants must nominate the FIVE players they think will get the most overall votes across the competition.
Club Votes
Entrants must then nominate the THREE players they think will get the most votes for every club. Top two irrespective of order is too easy. You’ll need to back three.
Multipliers
The multiplier system rewards you for getting your picks in the CORRECT ORDER. It is applied to any correct call in the right position for the overall and for any clean sweep of a club tally.
Big Call
The final element is a “Big Call”. Entrants must choose ONE under the radar sort of player they back for a strong showing- think Angus Brayshaw in 2018 or Matthew Richardson 2008. Who is it that is going to surprise come the end of the evening? Select one name.
Now it doesn’t have to strictly be a high polling call relative to the overall count, rather one that is “big” relative to perhaps the player’s position or anonymity in the betting markets and media coverage. Now this is a clearly more subjective part of the competition but one which should be intuitive if not obvious by the end of the night. Only one entry, barring a slew of brilliant calls, will be awarded points for their big call. It will be judged by reference to the above and in contrast to the rest of the calls.
SCoring
Overall Votes (1st-5th): 100, 75, 50, 75, 100.
Club Votes (1st-3rd): 5, 10, 15.
Multipliers (Overall): Triple points for medalist, double for all other correct order.
Multipliers (Club): Double points for getting all three in correct order.
Big Call: 150.
1090 points available without multipliers.
Level finishes will be counted as equal finishes; i.e. same votes, same finish.
To recap, you need: your top five overall players, your top three from every club and a big call with multipliers to be applied for correct order calls.
