As Chillo mentioned in the Polling Station, Merrett vs Gaff seems to be a popular option this week for a midfield upgrade……..and why not?
Zach Merrett (ESS) has already twice finished as a Top8 MID despite his youthful 23 years of age. Once again he’s on track, with the 5th highest average for the midfield at 112.4.
Andrew Gaff missed the first three games through suspension but has been very consistent since his return. After ten games he’s running at a 108.7 avg, with his last five games at 111.3.
So if you were forced to take one of these fine gentlemen for your M8 position, who would it be?

With Zerrett not having to face a De Boer tag is helpful
Great poll! I’m leaning gaff as he looks to be getting back to his best and ultra consistent. Rate them both for sc though and you probably can’t go too wrong with either.
I disagree on the De Boer tag comment, most teams rightly or wrongly tend to tag Yeo or Shuey first so Gaff just does his thing.
I probably wouldn’t label them as M8’s, more like M6?

Had Zerrett since the start, got Gaff as one of my mid upgrades.
Both been great so far, hopefully keep it up!!
Zerett is a flat track bully.. when Essendon play well he scores well when they play like crap he scores average at best
He scored 129 against Sydney, 108 against st kilda and 104 against the tigers in arguably our three worst performances of the year.
Just another case of someone opening their mouth without fact. Well done Joey for presenting the actual facts. Not just making up crap.
Essendon must have played well a lot of times this year!
