SCTTL Round 6

The completion of R6 sees the different trade strategies starting to unfold. Whilst there is a little separation at the top, there are still 29 teams less than 500 points in arrears. Interestingly, only one team from within the top twelve features in this week’s top five scores, giving an indication that there are still plenty of places to climb from any position on the ladder.

This week’s winner, Jessy, came from the middle of the pack at 20th to stand atop the podium for the week. A fantastic score of 2305 using a Grundy VC sees him (yes it is a him despite the coaches name) leap into the top twelve. Second for the round goes to Jomo’s very consistent Steely Tech, the only team from the top twelve to feature in this week’s podium finishers, moving to 4th overall, using a Naicos VC to help boost his score to 2284. Third place getter came from the depths at 26th to feature gaining a score of 2261 which could have been slightly better if not for ignoring his Naicos VC and leaving the C on Grundy. Still great scoring for Andrew and The Hutta’s Tech team. Rounding out the top five this week were Michael’s Tip Top with 2230 thanks to nailing the Butters C, and Tom’s Tortured Tech scoring 2226 which included a Sheez VC.

No doubt plenty of trading still happening at this stage of the season. Those still with the likes of Thillthorpe, or maybe McKercher with his revolving role, are they going, or are you concentrating on the rookie cleanup? Who gets another chance? I was going to dump McCarthy last round but couldn’t in a rare reward for my choices this year. Let us know your movers and shakers for the upcoming week.

  1. Loving the tech league Jimmy, Always do. It’s nice just playing against 35, plus I’m a lot less stressed making trades then with my main team. That said I’ve already burnt through all my boosts, very irresponsible….

A little embarrassed to say not only do I still hold McKercher. He’s currently my D1. Was looking at an easy J Serong to Diacos and a dead rook to Anderson. Feel I should work on the back line but might look at sorting that out next week (or the week after). Hopefully all those great def rooks can keep me in it.

Damn, also got the Bont and Dawson, think I’ll just hold those and hope for the best.

Gotta keep telling myself, keep some trades for the business end, keep some trades for the business end.
