Disappointment: Couple of back flankers here in Josh Daicos (74) and Nic Newman (76).

Rookies: Kemp (69) was the best of the Blues rookies ahead of Smith/Dean (64) who finished on the same score. Byrne (43) could’ve been much more if he had drawn the game. Pretty solid from Steene (72) who came in ahead of Anderson (64), Steele (48) and Hayes (46).

Injuries: Looked like another concussion for Harry McKay, bar that clean sheets.

Geelong (19.17.131) defeated Western Bulldogs (8.8.56)

Rookies: Just Edwards (76) and Wiltshire (24) for the Cats, while the Dogs were led by  Sellwood (69). After him was Hynes (56), Emmett (56), Lewis (42) and finally Jaques (34), who killed his cash gen.

Injuries: Carnage at the Cattery. The Bulldogs lost star Sam Darcy to a knee, Tom Liberatore to a concussion, then Lobb and O’Donnell to hamstrings. The Cats came out unscathed.
