  1. Brodie Grundy (151). Started the round off with a bang, posting a massive score thanks to 18 touches (13 contested), 5 marks, 4 tackles, 2 goals and 35 hitouts for the game.
  2. Marcus Bontempelli (135). Weirdly traded out by thousands, Bont overcame a knee issue to post 29 touches (12 contested) plus 5 tackles, 2 goals, 6 clearances and 547 metres gained.
  3. Charlie Curnow (128). The focal point up front, Curnow had 15 disposals and 8 marks but it was the 7 majors that boosted him.
  4. Bailey Dale (113). Provided heaps of drive off half back with a team high 741 metres gained from his 31 touches (25 kicks).
  5. Ryley Sanders (106). Saw an increased midfield role which resulted in 28 touches (11 contested) plus 6 clearances and 7 tackles.

Other 100+ scores: Chad Warner (104), Tom McCartin (103), Bailey Williams/Callum Mills (102)

Disappointment: A lot quieter this week for Nick Blakey (59).

Rookies: The baby Bulldogs were led by Sellwood (72) and Jaques (69) but had plenty more after that, with debutant Smith (61) being next best. After him came Dolan (53), Emmett (44), Hynes (41), Lewis (37) and Gardner (25). For the Swans, it was the heavily traded out Serong (92) leading the charge ahead of Rosas (69) and then debutants Edwards (45) and Cootee (23).

Injuries: Naughton (neck) had a scary incident in the last quarter but reports are no structural damage. Nothing else to mention here.

  4. Kane McAuliffe (108). Similar to Brown, used it well with 81% DE from his 21 touches (12 contested) as well as kicking 1 major.
  5. Max Gawn/Seth Campbell (105). A popular VC option in Gawn crawled his way to a ton after a knee to the back early, finishing with 20 touches (18 contested) plus 5 clearances, 21 hitouts and 1 goal, while Campbell was a livewire as usual, having 13 disposals and 2 majors.

Other 100+ scores: Dion Prestia (104), Jack Steele (103), Caleb Windsor (102)

Disappointment: Hasn’t really played a bad game thus far but Lalor (81) only has one triple figure score so far this year, not ideal for a starting mid pricer.

Rookies: The Tigers were led by Retschko (82) who is on the bubble and will be super popular next week. After that was Cumming (80) in his debut, another solid looking downgrade option. Grlj (74) was solid again, hitting his BE, the same as Lefau (74). Burton (40) also made his debut and finally there was Ryan (22). Sharp (84) was the best of the Demons ahead of Heath (78). After that was Jefferson (69), Laurie (67) and Tholstrup (61) plus Taylor (52) and Latrelle Pickett (16).

Injuries: Tough luck for Culley (knee) who suffered what appeared to be a significant knee concern. Nothing else to mention bar Short being a late out.

  4. Jordan De Goey (110). Similar to Houston, used good DE of 88% and no clangers to boost his 18 touch, 3 goal game to this score.
  5. Nick Daicos/Jack Crisp (105). Poor ball use for Nick held him back. Overall had 42 touches (14 contested) with 8 marks and 745 metres gained, but had 4 behinds. Crisp was his general self, having 28 touches, 12 marks and 1 goal across the wing.

Other 100+ scores: Zach Merrett (104), Josh Daicos (102)

Disappointment: Back to earth for Parish (72) here. Tsatas (61) was a popular pick up and will make heaps of cash but was on 10 at the half.

Rookies: Archer Day-Wicks (78) was the best of the Bombers ahead of Farrow (68), Edwards (41), Sharp (31) and Robey (25). The ultra popular Anderson (73) was just bested by Steele (75) for the Pies, with the others being Steene (52) and Hayes (33).

Other 100+ scores: Connor O’Sullivan (100)

Disappointment: Bergman (73) has been well below expectations this year. Holmes (80) got thrown into a few different roles.

Rookies: Just the young ruckman Edwards (12) for Geelong as he got dominated by the duo at Port. Lai (61) the best for Port ahead of Watkins (29) and Whitlock (23).

Injuries: Blicavs (knee) added to the Geelong loss. Marshall (illness) and De Koning (managed) late outs.

Fremantle (16.7.103) defeated Carlton (13.11.89)

  1. Luke Jackson (147). A popular C option and he dominated with 21 touches, 5 marks, 6 tackles, 31 hitouts and 2 goals on Saturday night.

  3. Jack Higgins (111). The best forward on the day, Higgins had 14 touches and 5 goals straight on Sunday.
  4. Rowan Marshall/Jack Carroll (106). Another ton for Marshall thanks to 14 touches (10 contested), 6 clearances, 14 hitouts and 1 goal, while Carroll produced a spike score on the back of 24 touches and 10 marks and over 400 metres gained.

Bond (88) was actually the best of the Crows who were rounded out by Murray (40), Edwards (39) and then Maley (23). McCarthy (87) played great in the win, as did Connor McKenna (79) on season debut. After that it was twin 55s for Gallop and Tunstill.
