      • Yeah I don’t think it’s heath. He just seemed to get a fair bit of attention and it was affecting his scoring around the ground, plus he took a niggle in the Richmond game. Maxy scores big when he’s taking lots of contested marks and scoring multiple goals. He came close last week with like 2-3 near goals on top of what I think was one actual goal.

  1. Is it worth boosting Bruhn to Whitfield?
It will be my last one but I will look to upgrade 1 up 1 down over the next few weeks before the byes, whilst my rookies fatten up another week $$

Reason being, I am in desperate need of a defender and Whitfield suits my bye structure perfect. I currently have the likes of Murdock stuck on my midfield bench because my mid line is too stacked and I only have 2 premium defenders.

    Thoughts appreciated!

  2. Is JHF the real deal this year?
Own Sheezel, Trac, Pickett & Flanders.

Looking to get one of my fwd rookies off the field, but have some concerns from being burnt last season.

JHF, Mcinerny & Touk. Finding them tough to split. What does the community think?

  3. Trade McAndrew for:
    TU – L. Jackson (74k in bank)
    TD – L. Reidy (579k in bank)

Scored 2254 this week & will have 28 trades left after what I need to do this round.

  4. Looking at upgrade targets and the best bes relative to scoring are jhf, whitfield and Archie Roberts, but I don’t like jhfs byes. In terms of byes, whitfield and Roberts seem the most tempting. Watched the Essendon game and Roberts looks very very good on the eye test. Is he the real deal? I liked Whitfield’s performance which was great after the first quarter but Roberts has shown a higher ceiling. Is he the real deal? It’s no longer a bargain, but I can afford the spend.

    Tu: Roberts
    TD: whitfield

Comment: jhf and eat the terrible bye, but I doubt thats the best option.

    • The only good part is jhf gets rid of probably the lowest scoring rookie, on average in either Pou or steene. The other two I’ll have to push out Farrow, Anderson or grlj probably. Assuming Pou doesn’t go on a tear again, these seem like more consistent scorers.

    • Whitfield still for mine. Robert’s role currently looks great and had one of the easiest match ups for designated kickers on the weekend. However, what does it look like when Redman comes back? Will Scott move Robert’s back into the midfield and flick the magnets around later in the season?

Whitfield is cheaper and will out average him from now to the back end of the year in my opinion. He’s bye just makes the pick even better. Goodluck!

  7. Thoughts on these trades:

    Out: Bruhn, McAndrew and Robertson
In: Xerri, Retschko and McKenna (could be anyone under 200k).

Already have Jackson and Gawn so going the triple Ruck setup (as I wanted to do before Xerri got suspended and I brought in Gawn).

Will have to re visit later in the week.

TD: Do the Grlj and Smith trades, wait a week and then go Bont with the price drop or Bruhn to Xerri.

Unsure of which rookies to move, BE are low so more leaning towards JS being burnt in past later in the season.

Can also go Lombard instead of Smith in the 1st instance, just less cash in the bank.

      • Oscar – g’day!!

You are probably not getting any replies because your first part of the sentence doesn’t make much sense (as you have mentioned Roberts twice)?

Do you mean “when Redman comes back” or “when Ridley comes back” for Essendon?

Either way, Archie Roberts should be a good pick & he is a strong chance of being a Top 6 defender this year

And even though both are getting lots of CBA’s, I probably prefer Kozzie over JHF for durability reasons – but both are in very good form, and Kozzie is currently more expensive.

All of those 3 players named should be top 6 in their position, so I would suggest you trade in the one that best suits your team & that best suits your budget

        Good luck!!

TD – Get rid of a good rookie (Blamires/Grlj) for a higher-end premo (Pickett/Walsh/Neale/Richards etc.)

Leaning towards first option right now as Warner suits bye structure and the higher end premos aren’t screaming out to me just yet, but want to get thoughts.

    • Was looking at Warner myself for the same reason, he’s proven for 4 years he’ll score around the 95 mark and has the role but he records a lot of clangers.
Was on track for a score in the mid 80’s before kicking 3 late in the game to boost his score (although junk time with the game over so scaling was low).

    1) TU: Do I then use a boost (2 remaining), to bring in Xerri, with Retschko and Jones.

  23. Ok so I’m having a crap year…
Backline has Mckercher at D4, Coleman at D5 and I can loop Jaques and Lindsay. Not great but not a complete disaster.
Mids has Parish at 5 and Bruhn at 6 plus some good rookies, not great.
Fwds is horrible, Pou at 4 and then rubbish rookies.

Which line would you focus on first?
Tempted to just get two fwds (e.g McInerney and JHF) in order to get the crap scores off field.

My Backline is Sinclair, Clark, Roberts, Colby, farrow, Jaques, Blamiers, Grlj
My forward line is, Sheezel, Mcinnerny, Flanders, kelly, Marshall, Lombard, Phillipou, Macrae (nuff Atm)

Is it worth me trading either out this week?

    • I think McKercher needs to go more than Kelly. Backs are just so much better and more consistent so it’s easy to find a big improvement over him. Forwards are a bit less consistent and TK scores fine for a forward except for one outlier week which admittedly was the most recent one. He’s more of a luxury sideways trade at some stage while Colby is averaging 30 points less than what you need in defence

You could go Jacques and Dev out for Dale and Retschko. Blamires is in for Wardlaw, but ZZ is playing VFL this week. Means you can loop Butters or Jackson tonight. Next week or 2 you want to target the Bont and Daicos who will both be cheap. I haven’t taken the byes into consideration.
