Bit of Deja vu about this week
Defenders
Luke Parker – 491.4k, (-22.9k), 107 AVG, 104 BE
Parker jumped out of the blocks and turned back the clock at the start of the year and has now settled into some solid premium scoring. Now he’s back under 500k due to a down game of 66 against Geelong 2 weeks ago. Despite Clarko’s magnet antics this year, his role has remained solid and he should hover around the top 6 defenders. There aren’t many defender picks that jump off the page this week. If you don’t have Sinclair or Ash they’re still affordable, but they’ve already featured in this segment about a million times the last few weeks. I also wouldn’t recommend Stewart unless you have the stomach for his random stinker scores, but he’s really cheap if you’re super strapped for cash.
Incoming Price Drops
Callum Wilkie – 463.4k, 145 BE
Lachie Whitfield – 571.1k, 133 BE
Midfielders
Noah Anderson – 527.4k, (-92.3k), 105 AVG, 40 BE
Back to back huge performances from Anderson in Darwin with 134 this time around. He looks to be well and truly back and should deliver premium scoring from here on out. He looks to be the pick of the bunch from a week ago between him, McCluggage and Callaghan. Just be mindful that he does have a Round 12 bye, so if you can cop paying a bit extra, maybe get him after that.
Caleb Serong – 469.3k, (-102.4k), 101 AVG, 53 BE
If you take away the context of what he’s delivered in previous seasons, Serong might be one that we should just stop overthinking. No, he probably won’t deliver the scoring that he has previously, and along with Brayshaw they’ve definitely lost their monopoly of the Freo midfield this year. But after all that, he’s still averaging 101, with a lot of big scores when he isn’t tagged. He also always seems to turn it up in the big moments when his team really needs it, which should continue to come into play as they are contenders. He won’t rise to his previous heights and he may have a few quiet games, but he is at a bargain price and deserves some consideration if you’re looking in that range.
Hugh McCluggage – 465.8k, (-180.5k), 72 AVG, 113 BE
McCluggage has featured here a lot recently, with very mixed results. He looked great after the 111 against Carlton, then followed it up with a whopping stinker of 57. He looked very fumbly and didn’t find much of the footy as Brisbane surprisingly got crushed by Geelong. While it was frustrating as an owner, I still think he will end up being a good pick. He keeps increasing his TOG by the week and hasn’t really suffered a role change. So he should come good, but if you didn’t already bring him in, you can afford to wait and see due to that 113 BE.
Incoming Price Drops
Matt Rowell – 533.7k, 176 BE
Isaac Heeney – 630.3k, 164 BE
Nick Daicos – 531.9k, 161 BE
Max Holmes – 578.5k, 151 BE
Rucks
Same story as it has been all year, wait for some price drops from whichever of Jackson and Xerri you don’t have.
Incoming Price Drops
Tristan Xerri – 667.2k, 196 BE
Luke Jackson – 639.4k, 179 BE
Forwards
Izak Rankine – 493.7k, (-45.7k), 88 AVG, 39 BE
I’ve also spoken about Izak extensively recently, so I’ll keep it short. Like many others, I wasn’t fully convinced by him most of the year until this week. He broke through a tag from O’Sullivan, something better players than him haven’t been able to do this year and went for 110 in a big win. Should be one of the better forwards from here on out, not as many doubts around this selection anymore despite the threat of inconsistency. Another one you can fade until after his early bye if you’re blessed with cash.
Justin McInerney – 471.3k, (-5.5k), 99 AVG, 84 BE
McInerney is having a fantastic breakout season in 2026. Just watching the games, he’s so damaging with his run and carry in the corridor taking the Swans forward. He’s also having a good year SuperCoach wise, although he’s one of those players that sometimes doesn’t take full advantage of the dominance that you see by the eye-test. He can be up and down, but he currently sits 5th for average points in the forwardline and really should stay there with more scores like his 137 last week. Good option to get while he’s under 500k and has such a great role.
Incoming Price Drops
Kysaiah Pickett – 502.9k, 179 BE
Zac Bailey – 483.5k, 165 BE
Christian Petracca – 552.8k, 150 BE
Shai Bolton 520.1k, 142 BE
Jason Horne-Francis – 445.7k, 134 BE
That’s everything for this week, if you haven’t started looking at your bye structure it’s probably time to start planning a good chunk of your upgrades around those. I reckon a few coaches (including myself) might already be in strife next week, so keep that in mind this week. Drop some more options down below to discuss.
Thanks Billbur
I am getting tired of seeing half my team in this article every week.
Need some advice on best selection.
On field DEF currently Whitfield, Sinclair, Clark, Lindsay, Farrow and Sellwood.
On field MID currently Butters, Bont, Diacos, Holmes, Serong, Duursma, Murdock and Retschko.
What needs fixing first?
TU – Defence and bring in Blakey/Noble
TD – Midfield and bring in NAnderson
Stack rucks and mids up first, will do more for ur total
You’ve got a similar amount of rookies on both lines, I’d get the better scorer in Anderson
